Ulmen

Ulmen is a Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The seat of the Verbandsgemeinde is in Ulmen. The Verbandsgemeinde Ulmen consists of the following Ortsgemeinden ("local municipalities"):

Ulmen Castle is a ruined castle complex in Ulmen, Germany.The upper castle was built on a slope above the Ulmener Maar, while the lower castle was adjacent but below it.

The Ulmener Maar is a maar in the Eifel mountains of Germany in the immediate vicinity of the town of Ulmen in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The lake is up to 37 metres deep and is surrounded by an embankment of tuff with an average height of 20 metres, which was formed from the erupted material of the former volcano. By the southern edge of the embankment are the ruins of a knight's castle, Ulmen Castle dating to the 11th century.

The Höchstberg is a mountain, 616.4 m, in the Volcanic Eifel region of the Eifel mountains, in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It rises within the Elzbach Heights. There is a basalt quarry on the mountain at a height of about 539 metres above sea level. Three streams rise on the mountain: the Ahlsbach, the Eppertsbach and the Lessierbach. Nearby is the eponymous village of Höchstberg.
