The Capuchin Friary, Rapperswil, (German: Kapuzinerkloster Rapperswil) is a Capuchin friary located in Rapperswil in the Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland.

Rapperswil Peninsula is a peninsula in Rapperswil on the northeastern Lake Zürich shore in Switzerland. On the northwest, Kempratnerbucht (bay of Kempraten) is situated, on the south Seedamm respectively Holzbrücke Rapperswil-Hurden is linking both shores of the lake respectively Obersee (upper Lake Zürich). Kapuzinerkloster Rapperswil (Capuchin monastery), Rapperswil Castle and partially the Altstadt of the city of Rapperswil is located on this rocky peninsula, in Swiss German usually called Endingen on its western lower side, Lindenhof on its western and Herrenberg on its eastern hilltop. Neither "Rapperswil Peninsula" nor the Swiss German term "Rapperswiler Halbinsel" or "Halbinsel von Rapperswil" is commonly used.

Rapperswil (Swiss German: [ˈrɑpːərʃˌʋiːl] or [ˈrɑpːərsˌʋiːl]; short: Rappi) is a former municipality and since January 2007 part of the municipality of Rapperswil-Jona in the Wahlkreis (constituency) of See-Gaster in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland, located between Obersee and the main part of Lake Zurich.

Rapperswil railway station (German: Bahnhof Rapperswil) is located next to the old town and harbour of Rapperswil in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. It is the largest of four active railway stations in the municipality of Rapperswil-Jona (the other three being Jona, Kempraten and Blumenau). Rapperswil railway station is situated on the north shore of Lake Zürich at the northern end of the Seedamm, which separates the Obersee (upper Lake Zürich) from the main body of the lake. Because the Seedamm carries both rail and road connections from the south shore of the lake, and because Rapperswil is the meeting point of three separate line from the northern side of the lake, the station is a major nodal point on the local rail network, notably of the Zurich Transport Network (ZVV). The first railway opened in 1859.

The Polish Museum, Rapperswil, was founded in Rapperswil, Switzerland, on 23 October 1870, by Polish Count Władysław Broel-Plater, at the urging of Agaton Giller, as "a refuge for Poland's historic memorabilia dishonored and plundered in the [occupied Polish] homeland" and for the promotion of Polish interests.Except for two hiatuses (1927–36, 1952–75), the Museum has existed to the present day—an outpost of Polish culture in Switzerland, a country which, over the past two centuries, has given refuge to generations of Poles.

See-Gaster is a constituency (Wahlkreis) in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. The Wahlkreis (SFOS number 1726) has been established on June 10, 2001, with an area of 246.16 km2 (95.04 sq mi). It was formed from the former See and Gaster districts in 2001.

Holzbrücke Rapperswil-Hurden is a wooden pedestrian bridge between the city of Rapperswil and the village of Hurden crossing the upper Lake Zürich (Obersee) in Switzerland. The prehistoric timber piles discovered to the west of the Seedamm date back to 1523 BC. The island settlement Technikum is a prehistoric pile-dwelling (or stilt house) settlement which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Prehistoric Pile dwellings around the Alps. The first wooden footbridge led across Lake Zürich, followed by several reconstructions at least until the late 2nd century AD when the Roman Empire built a 6 metres (20 ft) wide wooden bridge. Between 1358 and 1360, Rudolf IV, Duke of Austria, built a 'new' wooden bridge across the lake that was used until 1878. On 6 April 2001, the reconstructed wooden footbridge was opened, being the longest wooden bridge in Switzerland.
