Whatcom Pavilion is a 1,200 seat multi-purpose arena located in Bellingham, Washington, United States on the campus of Whatcom Community College. It is home to the Whatcom Community College Orcas and the Bellingham Slam of the International Basketball League, as well as the Bellingham Roller Betties roller derby league.

In 2006, the city of Bellingham completed a significant stream and salmon habitat restoration project on Baker Creek.

Its trauma center is the Haggen Family Emergency and Trauma Center, a level II trauma center.The hospital provides general medical care, as well as specialized treatment for heart and joint conditions and cancer. It is the only hospital in Whatcom County. They have 251 licensed beds.

As of the 2022–2023 school year, the district has an enrollment of 11,623 students.In 2006, the Center for Digital Education, along with the National School Boards Association, named the Bellingham School District 6th in the nation for districts with 2501-15000 students. They were also awarded an "excellence in equity" award in 2019, from the Washington State School Directors' Association, and a green ribbon for sustainability from the U.S. Department of Education in 2022.The strategic plan of Bellingham Public Schools is known as "The Bellingham Promise".

Bellingham Technical College (Bellingham Tech or BTC) is a public technical college in Bellingham, Washington. Although it awards some bachelor's degrees, it primarily awards associate degrees.

The Aftermath Clubhouse is a two-story, wood-frame Italian Villa building which was originally constructed in 1904. It is estimated to be the first women's clubhouse in the state of Washington.

The Lottie Roth Block is an historic commercial building located near downtown Bellingham, Washington and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Built by quarry manager and Washington State Legislator Charles Roth and named after his wife, Lottie, the building is clad in the famous Chuckanut Sandstone from his Bellingham Bay Quarry that would be used in countless building projects across the region. Completed in 1891, it was one of the last large commissions of noted Northwest architect Elmer H. Fisher and his only project in Whatcom County. While initially built as an office/retail building in anticipation of the commercial expansion of the town of Whatcom, it was converted entirely to Apartments by 1918 when commercial development moved in the opposite direction towards New Whatcom, which after 1903 became the new city of Bellingham's downtown. Still strictly serving as a residential building to the current day, the Lottie Roth Block was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 12, 1978.

The Pickett House is the oldest house in the city of Bellingham, Washington, located on 910 Bancroft Street. Built in 1856 by United States Army Captain George Pickett, who later became a prominent general in the Confederate States Army during the Civil War, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Squalicum Creek is a stream in Whatcom County, Washington, that flows through Bellingham, Washington, to Bellingham Bay. It drains an area of 22 square miles (57 km2).The Washington State Department of Transportation and the City of Bellingham have been working to improve the suitability of the creek, with headwaters in the Cascade foothills, as spawning habitat for pink, chum and coho salmon and cutthroat trout. From 2015 to 2020, the city government rerouted the creek around Bug Lake, an artificial pond created during construction of Interstate 5, to improve temperatures for fish and remove barriers.The creek, Squalicum High School, and other locations named Squalicum around Bellingham are named for the native word meaning "place of the dog salmon".

The T.G. Richards and Company Store, also known as Whatcom County Territorial Courthouse, is the first and oldest brick building in the state of Washington, United States, and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
