Evangelical Cemetery (Strašnice)

Strašnice Crematorium (in Czech: Krematorium Strašnice) is the largest crematory in Europe in terms of area. President Václav Havel was cremated here. The crematorium was involved in the disposal of those who had been executed by the Nazi and Communist regimes including writer Vladislav Vančura, general Josef Mašín, politician Milada Horáková and bishop Gorazd of Prague.

Strašnice tram depot (Czech: Vozovna Strašnice) is a tram and trolleybus depot in Strašnice that has been part of the Prague tram network since 1908. The depot was the biggest along with Žižkov tram depot. It was completely reconstructed in the 1920s and 1930s.

Hagibor (Hebrew: הגיבור / ha-gibor, lit. "a hero") is a locality in the district of Strašnice (and partly Žižkov) in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The former local Jewish Czech sport club ŽSK Hagibor was located here, which gave the name to the area. The district also includes the headquarters of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and affiliated broadcasts. There are architectural projects in Hagibor.

Trmal Villa or Trmalova Vila is a villa in Prague designed in 1902 by the Czech architect Jan Kotěra in the English Modernist style. The villa has been restored, and is now a museum and cultural centre open to the public and for research. Its architect has been described as the "founder of modern Czech architecture".

The Parish Congregation of the Evangelical Church is in Prague. Its denomination is the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren Christian denomination.

Radio Farda (Persian: راديو فردا, lit. 'Radio Tomorrow', Radio Farda) is the Iranian branch of the U.S. government-funded Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) external broadcast service for providing "factual, objective and professional journalism" to its audiences. It broadcasts 24 hours a day in the Persian language from its headquarters in the district Hagibor of Prague, Czech Republic.Radio Farda first aired December 2002. Radio Farda broadcasts news on topics like political, cultural, social, and art with an emphasis on Iran. The name "Farda" means "tomorrow" in Persian. Radio Farda's broadcasts have been continually blocked by Iranian authorities over the history of its programming.Launched in December 2002 as the successor to RFE/RL's Persian Service with the goal of providing "objective and accurate news and information to counter state censorship and ideology-based media coverage". Radio Farda's new website was launched in 2006 and receives over 3 million page views every month.

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) is a United States government funded organization that broadcasts and reports news, information, and analysis to countries in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Caucasus, and the Middle East where it says that "the free flow of information is either banned by government authorities or not fully developed". RFE/RL is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation supervised by the U.S. Agency for Global Media, an independent government agency overseeing all U.S. federal government international broadcasting services. Jeremy Bransten is acting editor-in-chief of RFE.RFE/RL broadcasts in 27 languages to 23 countries. The organization has been headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, since 1995, and has 21 local bureaus with over 500 core staff and 1,300 stringers and freelancers in countries throughout their broadcast region. In addition, it has 680 employees at its headquarters and corporate office in Washington, D.C. During the Cold War, RFE was broadcast to Soviet satellite states, including the Baltic states, and RL targeted the Soviet Union; RFE was founded as an anti-communist propaganda source in 1949 by the National Committee for a Free Europe, while RL was founded two years later. The two organizations merged in 1976. Communist governments frequently sent agents to infiltrate RFE's headquarters, and the KGB regularly jammed its signals. RFE/RL was headquartered at Englischer Garten in Munich, West Germany, from 1949 to 1995. Another broadcast site was operated at the village of Glória do Ribatejo, east of Lisbon, Portugal, from 1951 to 1996. European operations have been significantly reduced since the end of the Cold War.

Strašnická (Czech pronunciation: [ˈstraʃɲɪtskaː]) is a Prague Metro station on Line A. It was opened on 11 July 1987 as the eastern terminus of the extension from Želivského. On 4 July 1990, the line was extended to Skalka. The station is located under Starostrašnická Street, 7.5 m (25 ft) below the surface. The station has only one concourse leading to Starostrašnická, which is connected to a fixed platform with stairs and a ramp for disabled passengers. The interior of the station is paneled with dark brown tiles. Construction of the station cost 241.4 million crowns.

The New Jewish Cemetery (Czech: Nový židovský hřbitov) in Žižkov, Prague, Czech Republic, was established in 1890 to relieve the space problem at the Old Jewish cemetery in Žižkov, where the Žižkov Television Tower now stands. It is about 10 times bigger than the Old Jewish Cemetery in Josefov and provides space for approximately 100,000 graves, therefore having the capacity to serve for a whole century. There is also a specially designated area for urns, though the Jewish tradition does not allow cremation. The cemetery is still in use today and operated by the Jewish Community in Prague. The cemetery is noted for its many art nouveau monuments, among them, two monuments for members of the Perutz family by Jan Kotěra, the monument to artist Max Horb by Jan Štursa in the form of a mourning peacock, and many remarkable works of the decorative and sculptural arts in florid art nouveau style by less well-known artists. One of the more elaborate tombs belongs to the Waldes family; the tomb is decorated with two busts, the last pieces of art made by the important Czech sculptor Josef Václav Myslbek, creator of the Wenceslas Square famous statue of St. Wenceslas.

The 2011 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship was the third World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, an international box lacrosse tournament organized by the Federation of International Lacrosse every four years. It took place between 21 and 28 May 2011 in Prague, Czech Republic at the 4,900 seat Eden Arena, an Olympic-sized rink. The Canadian team was the defending champion and for the third time defeated the Iroquois Nationals in the finals, 13–6. The United States defeated the host Czech Republic 16–7 in the bronze medal game.

Želivského (Czech pronunciation: [ˈʒɛlɪfskɛːɦo]) is a station on Line A of the Prague Metro. The station is located under Vinohradská street next to the Olšany Cemetery. It is named after the Jana Želivského street, which is itself named after Jan Želivský. The station was opened on 19 December 1980 as the eastern terminus of the extension of the line from Náměstí Míru. On 11 July 1987 the line was extended to Strašnická.

Praha-Žižkov freight railway station (Czech: nákladové nádraží Žižkov) is a railway station formerly used for rail freight transport, located in the Žižkov district of Prague, the capital of Czechia. It was originally opened in 1936 and ceased operations in 2002. The station building was confirmed as a cultural monument in March 2013.
