The Sacramento Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services to the city of Sacramento, California. The department was first organized on February 5, 1850. It was not until March 30, 1872, when it finally became the first paid fire department west of the Mississippi River. Additionally, the city also provides contracted services for the Pacific Fruitridge Fire Protection District and Natomas Fire Protection District to provide emergency services. This contracted area expands the departments response area to 146 square miles (380 km2) as they provide services to approximately 516,000 residents.

Sacramento Charter High School ("Sac High") is an independent public charter high school in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento, California. Originally founded in 1856, Sacramento High is the second oldest public high school in California. In 2003, the school adopted its current form as a charter school within the Sacramento City Unified School District.

The Sacramento Bank Building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a historic bank building located the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento, California. The building currently operates as a U.S. Bank branch.

California's 6th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California. It is represented by Democrat Ami Bera. Currently, the 6th district is entirely in Sacramento County and includes the north side of the city of Sacramento and its suburbs of Rancho Cordova, Citrus Heights, Rio Linda, Elverta, Arden-Arcade, Antelope, Foothill Farms, North Highlands, and most of Fair Oaks.Prior to redistricting by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission of 2021, the district included the entire city of Sacramento and some of its suburbs. The district was represented by Democrat Doris Matsui.

The Fire Station No. 6 in Sacramento, California, at 3414 4th Ave., was built in 1915. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.It was designed by Sacramento civil engineer and utility facility designer Albert Givan, and has elements of Prairie School style.It operated as a fire station until 1979.

29th Street is a side platformed Sacramento RT light rail station in the Midtown neighborhood of Sacramento, California, United States. The station was opened on September 5, 1987, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. It is served by the Gold Line. The station is located on R Street between 29th and 30th Streets, below the overpass of Business Loop 80 (Capital City Freeway), and is the easternmost station in the Central City Fare Zone. Portions of the Poverty Ridge neighborhood are also accessible from the station.

The Julia Morgan House is a Mediterranean Revival mansion, located in the Elmhurst neighborhood of Sacramento, California, constructed by Julia Morgan, the first woman licensed to practice architecture in California. The home, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was gifted to Sacramento State University by Charles Goethe after his death in 1966.

The Libby, McNeill and Libby Fruit and Vegetable Cannery was a cannery operated in Sacramento, California by Libby, McNeill, and Libby. The building is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Libby, McNeill and Libby built nine brick structures near the corner of Stockton Boulevard and 31st Street (now Alhambra Boulevard) in 1912. The undertaking was the grand sum of $1 million.The building was strategically located to provide access to two separate railways and employed around 1,000 workers.Corresponding with a decline in canned food sales in the US, Libby shut down operations in the early 1980s. A developer purchased the building soon after for $2.5 million and remodeled it into an office complex, some of which was used by state offices, departments of UC Davis Medical Center, and a fitness center. In 1991, it was valued at $30 million.

The Shiloh Baptist Church, located in Sacramento, California is a historic African American Baptist church built between 1958 and 1963. Designed by James C. Dodd, Sacramento's first African-American licensed architect and built primarily by Reverend Willie P. Cooke, pastor of Shiloh. It served as the focal point for the African-American community of Sacramento's Oak Park neighborhood, and was constructed by the congregation.

UC Davis Medical Center is part of UC Davis Health and a major academic health center located in Sacramento, California. It is owned and operated by the University of California as part of its University of California, Davis campus. The medical center sits on a 142-acre (57 ha) campus (often referred to as the Sacramento Campus to distinguish it from the main campus in nearby Davis) located between the Elmhurst, Tahoe Park, and Oak Park residential neighborhoods. The site incorporates the land and some of the buildings of the former Sacramento Medical Center (which was acquired from the County of Sacramento in 1973) as well as much of the land (and two buildings) previously occupied by the California State Fair until its 1967 move to a new location. The 646-bed hospital serves as key referral center for a 65,000-square-mile (170,000 km2) area that includes 33 counties and 6 million residents. It operates inland Northern California's only level I trauma center for both adult and pediatric emergencies and maintains a staff of specialists and researchers in more than 150 areas of health care.UC Davis Medical Center ranked among the nation's top hospitals for 2020–21 in 9 adult medical specialties and 4 children's medical specialties, and it is the 6th best hospital in California, according to an annual U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals survey published in July 2020.The medical center is the primary teaching hospital affiliated with the UC Davis School of Medicine. The hospital, medical school, Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing and UC Davis Medical Group together comprise UC Davis Health, a brand of the nearby University of California, Davis.
