Barrow County is a county located in the north central portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, its population was 83,505. Its county seat is Winder. Barrow County is included in the Atlanta–Sandy Springs–Roswell metropolitan statistical area.

The North Broad Street Residential Historic District is an 18-acre (7.3 ha) historic district in Winder, Georgia. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and includes 39 contributing buildings. The district addresses historic buildings from the 1890s to 1930s; there are also modern intrusions. The district includes the Smith-Baxter House, built in 1902, which has a large porch, decorative scrollwork, and stained glass. The First Baptist Church in the district is a "good example of the use of the Gothic style for a church." The majority of houses are Bungalow style. The district is also significant for its residential landscape architecture.

The Barrow County Courthouse, which is located on Courthouse Sq. in Winder, Georgia, was built in 1916. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It was designed by J.J. Baldwin. It has a one-story projecting entrance and a two-story Doric tetrastyleportico. It has a three-stage clock tower with clocks facing in four directions. The listing included two contributing buildings.

The Barrow County Museum is a museum located in Winder, Georgia. holds artifacts of Barrow county. It is the home of the Barrow County Historical Society. The museum located in the old Barrow County Jail, built in 1914. It hosts exhibits on Senator Richard B. Russell, county history and Fort Yargo. A small granite monument honoring the unknown Confederate dead that once stood at Triangle Park in Rosehill Cemetery now resides at the museum.

Winder (, WYNE-dər) is a city and the county seat of Barrow County, Georgia, United States. It is located east of Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The population was 18,338 at the 2020 census.

Fort Yargo State Park is a 1,816-acre (7.35 km2) U.S. state park located in Winder, Georgia, situated between Athens and Atlanta. The park is located 1 mile south of Winder and is accessible by Georgia State Route 81. There is a 260-acre (1.1 km2) lake with a public beach. Available activities at Fort Yargo include GeoCaching, hiking, mountain biking, disc golf, boating (including Jon boat, pedal boat, and canoe rentals), lake swimming, fishing, picnicking, and miniature golf. The park also features a log fort built in 1792 by settlers, for protection against the Creek and Cherokee. The park also hosts Camp Will-A-Way, an accessible camp designed for individuals with developmental disabilities, in partnership with Camp Twin Lakes.

Barrow County Schools is a public school district based in Winder, Georgia, United States, serving Barrow County. The boundary of the district is that of the county.

Winder-Barrow High School is a high school in Winder, Georgia, United States, serving grades 9–12. It has an enrollment of 1,911 students, and is the home of the Winder-Barrow "Bulldoggs." It is a part of Barrow County Schools. The attendance boundary includes northern Wilder, Statham, and Russell, as well as the Barrow County portion of Braselton.

Bethlehem is a town in Barrow County in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 715. The major employer in town is Harrison Poultry, which is the largest non-government employer in Barrow County. The town was named after a local church, Bethlehem Methodist Church, and has a strong Christmas theme, with many of the street names being references to the nativity of Jesus, such as Mary, Joseph, and Manger. After the introduction of a 1967 stamp in Bethlehem, the town became known as a popular location for sending mail from during the holidays, as the post office sends letters marked "from Bethlehem."

Barrow Heights is an unincorporated community located in Barrow County, Georgia, United States.

Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy, also known as BASA, is a STEM and arts-focused high school near Winder, Georgia, United States, serving grades 9–12. It has an enrollment of 1,064 students. The school has the highest graduation rate in Barrow County, at 97.8%. Unlike traditional high schools, BASA runs on a lottery system that any high school student can enter regardless of their location in the county. The school is home to the BASA "Blazers." During the Covid-19 pandemic, face masks were optional at the school. In 2023, the school announced they would no longer have a track team, sparking arguments with the school board.
