Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, commonly known as Corso Vittorio, is a wide east–west thoroughfare that courses through Rome. It connects a bridge over the Tiber, Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, to both the Via Torre Argentina and Via del Plebiscito. The latter Via continues east from Piazza del Gesù and along Palazzo Venezia to reach Piazza Venezia which sits below the massive white Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II. In its traverse from the Tiber through central Rome, Corso Vittorio runs along the Piazza della Chiesa Nuova standing before the facade of the church of Santa Maria in Vallicella (the Chiesa Nuova), past the Palazzo della Cancelleria on the right, past the Palazzo Braschi and the Rome Commune (City Hall), and then past the curving Palazzo Massimo alle Colonne and Sant' Andrea della Valle, until it splits into two streets at Largo di Torre Argentina, where the easterly direction continues up to the Piazza of the Gesù. It was created by a resolution of 1886 and was named after Vittorio Emanuele II, the first King of Italy.

The Palazzo della Cancelleria (Palace of the Chancellery, referring to the former Apostolic Chancery of the Pope) is a Renaissance palace in Rome, Italy, situated between the present Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and the Campo de' Fiori, in the rione of Parione. It was built 1489–1513 by Baccio Pontelli and Antonio da Sangallo the Elder as a palace for Cardinal Raffaele Riario, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, and is regarded as the earliest Renaissance palace in Rome. The Palazzo houses the Papal Chancellery, is an extraterritorial property of the Holy See, and is designated as a World Heritage Site.

The Pontifical Academy of Fine Arts and Letters of the Virtuosi al Pantheon is one of the Pontifical Academies under the direction of the Holy See. The complete Italian name of the academy, Pontificia Insigne Accademia di Belle Arti e Letteratura dei Virtuosi al Pantheon, includes the adjective insigne (illustrious), often omitted in official English translations. The term Virtuosi al Pantheon (virtuosos of the Pantheon) is also usually left untranslated, but, in any event, should not be taken in the English musical sense of “virtuoso” but rather “artists of great merit”. The Pantheon in Rome was the historical home of the academy. The term “academy” is meant in the Renaissance definition of the term as an association of learned persons and not an institution of instruction.

The Monument to Marco Minghetti is a memorial statue dedicated to the statesman Marco Minghetti (1818-1886); it is located along the Corso Vittorio Emanuele, at Piazza San Pantaleo (Piazza di Palazzo Braschi), in Rome, Italy. Minghetti had served the Kingdom of Italy, at least twice as prime minister, and many years in congress, mainly allied with more conservative factions. His early deliberations had mainly focused on the consolidation of the Italian peninsula into a nation, including the Papal States and Venice. He had begun his career under Count Cavour. After his death, Parliament approved and funded a monument. A commission led by the Marquis Antonio Starrabba of Rudinì, and including the sculptors Emilio Gallori and Ercole Rosa, and the architects Basile and Manfredi, sponsored a competition for the memorial. The initial designs considered by the commission, by Ettore Ximenes and Adolfo Laurenti, were ultimately turned down. A subsequent model was approved in 1988; this one was a design by the sculptor Lio Gangheri and the architect Giacomo Misuraca. At the time, the Palazzo Braschi was home to the Ministry of the Interior and the prime minister's office. The monument was inaugurated on September 1895. The bronze statue of the standing Minghetti, with a book in hand, rises atop a high plinth. His left hand appears to be making a point. At the base is an allegorical statue putatively representing Politics with a laurel crown and reading books. Beside her is putatively a child, representing the nation, with a flag. On the rear of the monument, an inscription states the monument was decreed by Parliament on the 19 June 1887.

Palazzo Braschi [paˈlat.tso ˈbras.ki] is a large Neoclassical palace in Rome, Italy and is located between the Piazza Navona, the Campo de' Fiori, the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and the Piazza di Pasquino. It presently houses the Museo di Roma, the "museum of Rome", covering the history of the city in the period from the Middle Ages through the nineteenth century.

The Museo di Roma is a museum in Rome, Italy, part of the network of Roman civic museums. The museum was founded in the Fascist era with the aim of documenting the local history and traditions of the "old Rome" that was rapidly disappearing, but following many donations and acquisitions of works of art is now principally an art museum. The collections initially included 120 water-colours by the nineteenth-century painter Ettore Roesler Franz of Roma sparita, "vanished Rome", later moved to the Museo di Roma in Trastevere.

Natività di Gesù is a church on Piazza Pasquino in the Parione rione of Rome. It is the national church in Rome of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was built at the end of the 17th century for the Archconfraternity of the Company of the Nativity (known as the Agonizzanti), formed in 1616. Pope Innocent XII granted a letter giving the Archconfraternity the licence to build a church as its oratory. It was rebuilt several times, the last being in 1862, when it took on its current appearance.

Campo de' Fiori (Italian: [ˈkampo de ˈfjoːri], literally "field of flowers") is a rectangular square south of Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy, at the border between rione Parione and rione Regola. It is diagonally southeast of the Palazzo della Cancelleria and one block northeast of the Palazzo Farnese. Campo de' Fiori, translated literally from Italian, means "field of flowers". The name dates to the Middle Ages when the area was a meadow.

San Pantaleo is an ancient church located on a piazza of the same name along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II in the Parione neighborhood of Rome, Italy. It shares the Piazza with the Museo di Roma in Palazzo Braschi. A church at the site dates from the 12th-century, but the present facade (1807) is in a Neoclassical style and the interiors were elaborated in a Baroque style.

The Statue of Giordano Bruno, created by Ettore Ferrari, was erected at Campo de' Fiori in Rome, Italy, in 1889. The inscription on the base recites: A BRUNO - IL SECOLO DA LUI DIVINATO - QUI DOVE IL ROGO ARSE (English: To Bruno - From the Age he Predicted - Here Where the Fire Burned)

The Giardino Montano per la Conservazione della Biodiversità "Ruggero Tomaselli", also known as the Giardino Botanico Alpino "Ruggero Tomaselli" and the Giardino Botanico "Ruggero Tomaselli", is a 70-hectare (170-acre) nature preserve, arboretum and botanical garden in Italy. It is located inside the Cittadella di Scienze della Natura at the summit of the Campo dei Fiori di Varese (elevation 1,226 metres (4,022 ft)), in the Province of Varese, Lombardy. It is open on weekends in the warmer months. The garden was established in 1956 and named in honor of botanist Ruggero Tomaselli.

The Piarists (), also known as the Order of Poor Clerics Regular of the Mother of God of the Pious Schools (Latin: Ordo Clericorum Regularium pauperum Matris Dei Scholarum Piarum, abbreviated SchP) or simply Scolopi or Escolapios, is a religious order of clerics regular of the Catholic Church founded in 1617 by Spanish priest Joseph Calasanz. It is the oldest religious order dedicated to education, and the main occupation of the Piarist fathers is teaching children and youth, the primary goal being to provide free education for poor children. The Piarist practice was to become a model for numerous later Catholic societies devoted to teaching, while some state-supported public school systems in Europe also followed their example. The Piarists have had a considerable success in the education of physically or mentally disabled persons. Some notable individuals taught at Piarist schools include Pope Pius IX, Goya, Schubert, Gregor Mendel, Tadeusz Kościuszko and Victor Hugo.
