Downtown Chilhowie Historic District is a national historic district located at Chilhowie, Smyth County, Virginia, United States.

Chilhowie is a town in Smyth County, Virginia, United States, on the Middle Fork of the Holston River. As of the 2020 census, Chilhowie had a population of 1,654. The name Chilhowie is said to come from a Cherokee word meaning "valley of many deer". It is also notable for having only one traffic light in the entire city. I-81 runs through Chilhowie. It is located at exit 35.

H. L. Bonham House is a historic house located at 408 White Top Road near Chilhowie, Smyth County, Virginia.

Chilhowie Methodist Episcopal Church, also known as Chilhowie United Methodist Church, is a historic Methodist Episcopal church located at Chilhowie, Smyth County, Virginia. It was built in 1893–1894, and is a cruciform plan, golden brown brick, Late Gothic Revival-style church. It has a gable roof and a central front projecting bell tower. The church features lancet windows, a stained glass rose window, and a vaulted ceiling. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Chilhowie High School is located in the town of Chilhowie, Virginia. It was founded in 1959 and is part of the Smyth County School Division.

Aspenvale Cemetery is a historic cemetery located at Seven Mile Ford, Smyth County, Virginia. The cemetery consists of three sections, with the most prominent marked by a T-shaped limestone wall and containing the graves of the Preston and Campbell families. It includes the grave of Revolutionary War General William Campbell (c. 1745–1781) and his wife Elizabeth Henry Campbell Russell (1749–1825), sister of Patrick Henry. William Campbell's remains were originally placed in a marble table tomb erected by his son-in-law, General Francis Preston (1765–1835) in 1823. It was replaced in 1964. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Seven Mile Ford is a census-designated place (CDP) in Smyth County, Virginia, United States. As of the 2020 census, Seven Mile Ford had a population of 664. It obtained its current name as a result of being a river crossing seven miles from the Royal Oak Fort in Marion. U.S. Route 11 passes through the center of the community, which is approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) from Chilhowie. Aspenvale Cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Preston House, also known as Herondon and the John Montgomery Preston House, is a historic home located near Marion, Smyth County, Virginia. It was built in 1842, and is a two-story, five-bay, brick Federal style dwelling. It features two closely matched doorways with a transom and sidelights, framed and divided by slender Tuscan order columns with an entablature and Greek Revival block composition above. The house was built "as a tavern or stagecoach inn along the Wilderness Road." This inn served travellers for some 22 years until 1864. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969. In 2022, it was announced that the house is scheduled for demolition in order to build a truck stop.

Glade Spring Commercial Historic District is the downtown core of the Town of Glade Spring, a community of 1,500 residents in northeastern Washington County, Virginia, less than three miles southwest of the Smyth County line. Located on the gently rolling floor of the Valley of Virginia (trending southwest–northeast), the town is surrounded by agricultural lands interspersed with clumps of woodland. The rugged southwest end of Walker Mountain is one mile to the northwest and Little Mountain four miles farther; the Iron Mountains define the opposite side of the Valley about seven miles to the southeast. On May 28, 2013, the "Town Square" was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Glade Spring Commercial Historic District includes twenty-four primary resources and two secondary resources. Of the twenty-four primary resources, twenty-one are contributing and three are non-contributing to the eligibility of the historic district. Primary resources include sixteen commercial buildings (only three of which are noncontributing), one warehouse, one bank, one office building, one hotel, one meeting hall, one town hall, one post office, and one multiple dwelling. Secondary resources consist of one walkway and one shed (both contributing).

Glade Spring is a town in Washington County, Virginia, United States. As of the 2020 census, Glade Spring had a population of 1,367. It is part of the Kingsport–Bristol (TN)–Bristol (VA) Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is a component of the Johnson City–Kingsport–Bristol, TN-VA Combined Statistical Area – commonly known as the "Tri-Cities" region. I-81 runs through Glade Spring. It is located at exit 29.

Adwolfe is a census-designated place (CDP) in Smyth County, Virginia, United States. The population was 1,530 at the 2010 census.
