The Battle of St Fagans was a pitched battle during the Second English Civil War in 1648. A detachment from the New Model Army defeated an army of former Parliamentarian soldiers who had rebelled and were now fighting against Parliament.

St Fagans National Museum of History (Welsh: Sain Ffagan: Amgueddfa Werin Cymru), commonly referred to as St Fagans after the village where it is located, is an open-air museum in Cardiff chronicling the historical lifestyle, culture, and architecture of the Welsh people. The museum is part of the wider network of Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales.It consists of more than forty re-erected buildings from various locations in Wales, and is set in the grounds of St Fagans Castle, a Grade I listed Elizabethan manor house. In 2011 Which? magazine named the museum the United Kingdom's favourite visitor attraction.A six-year, £30-million revamp was completed in 2018 and the museum was named the Art Fund Museum of the Year in 2019.

The House of the Future, more recently renamed Ty Gwyrdd, is a modern house located in the St Fagans National History Museum on the western edge of Cardiff, Wales. Completed in 2000, it was originally a showcase of the latest green building technologies, but was later transformed into an education centre. It was described by architectural writer Owen Hatherley as "a rather ambitiuous gesture for a place devoted to reconstructing the past".

Melin Bompren (English: "Woodenbridge Mill") is a water-powered corn mill, originally located at Cross Inn, Cardiganshire, Wales, but now at the St Fagans National History Museum, Cardiff. The mill was built in 1853 to grind corn into flour. It also has a kiln attached, which was used for drying oats when the mill was in its original location.The mill went out of use in 1957. In 1970 a decision was made to move it to St Fagans, where it opened to the public in 1977. The name of the mill originates in the Welsh language as "Woodenbridge mill", "Bompren" is a development on "Bont Pren" which means "Wooden Bridge". The mill is sometimes occupied by a skilled miller, who operates the grinding mill and explains its workings to visitors.

Hendre'r Ywydd Uchaf is an early 16th-century cruck house, originally constructed near Llangynhafal, Denbighshire, and now located at St Fagans National History Museum in Cardiff, Wales. One of the interior wooden beams has been dated to the year 1508, using dendrochronology. The house has five bays, two of which would have been used for livestock, and an open hearth. It was designated a Grade II listed building on 10 June 1977.The walls of the house are timber-framed with oak stakes bound together by a wattle-and-daub construction. The roof is thatched with wheat straw. There is an earth floor and unglazed windows.The house was moved to St Fagans in 1956 and opened to the public in 1962, becoming the seventh building to be reconstructed on the site.

Esgair Moel is a woollen mill, originally built in the early 18th century and now reconstructed at St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff, Wales. It was the second historic building to be erected at the museum.The mill was built in around 1760, close to a farm of the same name near the small town of Llanwrtyd in Powys. After being enlarged during the 19th century, when the spinning jack, made by John Davies of Llanbrynmair in about 1830 and thought to be the only one of its age and kind still in use, was installed, along with carding engines purchased from a mill in Yorkshire. The mill eventually closed down in 1947 and was relocated and rebuilt at St Fagans in 1952.All the processes from dyeing of fleece to finishing of fabric, can be carried out within the building, which still produces woollen shawls and blankets for sale. The two handlooms, dating from the mid-18th century, were converted to be used with a flying shuttle. The water wheel is located on the ground floor and is fed by water pumped from a pool below, originally built in 1904 as a swimming pool for the Earl of Plymouth, who owned St Fagans at the time.

Denbigh Cockpit is a reconstructed building at St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff, the capital of Wales. The cockpit formerly stood in the yard of the Hawk and Buckle Inn at Vale Street, Denbigh, and is thought to date from the late seventeenth century. It is a Grade II listed building. Cockfighting became illegal in Britain in 1849, and the cockpit was used for other purposes over the years, such as a garage. In 1911 it was visited by members of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments and Constructions in Wales and Monmouthshire, and was found to be "preserved with much care". It was in a poor state of repair by 1965, when a decision was made to move it to St Fagans. The cockpit was opened to the public at St Fagans in 1970.

Gwalia Stores is a retail premises originally built at Ogmore Vale, Glamorgan, in 1880 and currently located at St Fagans National History Museum, Cardiff, Wales. The stores were a family business, run by William Llewellyn and his family. By 1916 the departments included bakery, ironmongery, grocery, men's outfitters, pharmacy and animal feeds. Some of the stores' employees also lodged on the premises. "Gwalia Stores" was a popular name for grocery stores in Wales during the early 20th century, and other shops with the same or similar names, unconnected to the one at St Fagans, can still be found. The stores closed for business in Ogmore Vale in 1973 and reopened at St Fagans in 1991. Part of the shop is still a retail premises; the rest of the ground floor is set up as it would have been during the 1920s. The first floor contains a tearoom.

Oakdale Workmen's Institute is a public building originally erected at Oakdale, Caerphilly, Wales, in 1917 and now located at St Fagans National Museum of History, Cardiff. The foundation stone of the Institute was laid on 3 July 1916, and it was officially opened on 10 September of the following year. Alfred S. Tallis, Managing Director of the Tredegar Iron and Coal Company, which owned Oakdale Colliery, represented them at the opening ceremony; the company had lent money to the local miners' organisations to enable them to build the "'Stute" as it became popularly known.The initiative to found the Institute came from several local groups who met in the temporary workers' barracks that had been erected by the colliery owners. The new building soon became a focal point of the community, and included a library, billiards room and meeting hall. Original minute books relating to the operation of the Institute during the 1940s are held by the Gwent Archives. An extension was built in 1927 and films began to be shown there, but the cinema ceased to function in the 1970s, and the Institute itself closed in 1987. The Institute was taken down in 1987, two years before the closure of Oakdale Colliery, and was relocated to St Fagans, where it was officially opened to the public in 1995 by Neil Kinnock.

St Fagans railway station served the village of St Fagans in South Wales. The station was on what is now the South Wales Main Line.

St Fagans ( FAG-ənz; Welsh: Sain Ffagan) is a village and community in the west of the city of Cardiff, capital of Wales. It is home to the St Fagans National History Museum.

St Fagans Castle (Welsh: Castell Sain Ffagan) is an Elizabethan mansion in St Fagans, Cardiff, Wales, dating from the late 16th century. The house and remaining medieval fortifications are Grade I listed. The grounds of St Fagans Castle now contain St Fagans National Museum of History.
