Seaholm High School

Birmingham Country Club, located in Birmingham, Michigan, was founded in 1916 as Birmingham Golf Club. The golf course at the club hosted the PGA Championship in 1953, which Walter Burkemo won, as well as the 1968 United States Women's Amateur Golf Championship.

The 1953 PGA Championship was the 35th PGA Championship, held July 1–7 at Birmingham Country Club in Birmingham, Michigan, a suburb northwest of Detroit. Local resident Walter Burkemo won the match play championship, 2 & 1 over Felice Torza in the Tuesday final. The winner's share was $5,000 and the runner-up's was $3,000. Burkemo won his only major title in the second of his three finals; he lost to Sam Snead in 1951 and Chick Harbert in 1954. Johnny Palmer was the medalist of the stroke play qualifier, awarded $250 for his 134 (−8), with a second round at 66. He lost in the first round to Jack Grout; also defeated on "Black Friday" were pre-tournament favorites Cary Middlecoff, three-time champion Sam Snead, and defending champion Jim Turnesa. No former past champion advanced past the second round. Burkemo's win marked the second time that all four major championships were won by Americans in a calendar year.

Beverly Hills is a village in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. A northern suburb of Detroit, Beverly Hills is located within Southfield Township, roughly 20 miles (32.2 km) northwest of downtown Detroit. As of the 2020 census, the village had a population of 10,599, making it the most populous village in the state by a wide margin.

Beyond Birmingham, the district provides public school services for Southfield Township, Michigan, which encompasses the villages of Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, and Franklin; and parts of these municipalities: Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Southfield (city), Troy and West Bloomfield Township, Michigan. The current superintendent is Dr. Embekka Roberson.

Groves High School (Wylie E. Groves High School or Groves) is a public, magnet high school in Beverly Hills, Michigan, United States, in the Birmingham Public School District. Groves' colors are green, white, and yellow and its mascot is Freddy the Falcon. The current principal is Dr. Susan Smith.The French School of Detroit holds its high school classes at Groves High School.

Greenwood Cemetery occupies 7.9 acres (32,000 m2) on Oak Avenue between Greenwood and Lake Streets, west of Old Woodward Avenue, in Birmingham, Michigan. The gently rolling landscape contains over 3,000 graves; 650 date from the nineteenth century. The grounds display a plethora of limestone, marble, cast zinc and granite monuments. An iron fence with low stone piers flanking the entrance fronts the cemetery. In 1885 the Greenwood Cemetery Association was established to maintain the burial ground. When the Association was dissolved in 1946, the city of Birmingham assumed the ownership and maintenance of the cemetery.

The John W. Hunter House is a single-family house located at 556 W. Maple Road in Birmingham, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

The John & Mary Elizabeth Booth Endicott House is a private house located at 290 Chesterfield in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

The Cranbrook Educational Community is an education, research, and public museum complex in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. This National Historic Landmark was founded in the early 20th century by newspaper mogul George Gough Booth. It consists of Cranbrook Schools, Cranbrook Academy of Art, Cranbrook Art Museum, Cranbrook Institute of Science, and Cranbrook House and Gardens. The founders also built Christ Church Cranbrook as a focal point in order to serve the educational complex. However, the church is a separate entity under the Episcopal Diocese of Michigan. The sprawling 319-acre (1,290,000 m2) campus began as a 174-acre (700,000 m2) farm, purchased in 1904. The organization takes its name from Cranbrook, England, the birthplace of the founder's father. Cranbrook is renowned for its architecture in the Arts and Crafts and Art Deco styles. The chief architect was Eliel Saarinen while Albert Kahn was responsible for the Booth mansion. Sculptors Carl Milles and Marshall Fredericks also spent many years in residence at Cranbrook.
