Birmingham Groves High School

Birmingham Public Schools (BPS), formally the Birmingham City School District, is the public school district for Birmingham, Michigan. Beyond Birmingham, the district provides public school services for Southfield Township, Michigan, which encompasses the villages of Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, and Franklin; and parts of these municipalities: Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, Southfield (city), Troy and West Bloomfield Township, Michigan. The current superintendent is Dr. Embekka Roberson.

Beverly Hills is a village in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. A northern suburb of Detroit, Beverly Hills is located within Southfield Township, roughly 20 miles (32.2 km) northwest of downtown Detroit. As of the 2020 census, the village had a population of 10,599, making it the most populous village in the state by a wide margin.

Southfield Township is a civil township in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. Today, the majority of the township consists of three suburban villages; Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, and Franklin; though two small areas, comprising 0.17 square miles (0.44 km2), remain unincorporated. As of the 2020 census, the township's population was 14,893, including the villages; the unincorporated areas' population was 31. Organized in 1830, the township once occupied a much larger area, before the cities of Lathrup Village and Southfield incorporated into cities in the 1950s.

Yeshivat Akiva is an N-12 Modern Orthodox Religious Zionist day school in Southfield, Michigan, serving Southeast Michigan. It opened in 1964 as an elementary school and shortly thereafter added a middle school (in 1967) and high school (starting in 1971, with a 10th grade). From the start the school has had a strong connection to Israel and for the first two decades the school's 12th grade took place in Israel. The first high school class graduated in 1974. The school's early motto was "The best of two worlds," which was later reworded as "The best of both worlds." The school's original name was Akiva Hebrew Day School. In 1982, the school was renamed Yeshivat Akiva-Akiva Hebrew Day School-Stollman Education Center. It is currently known as Farber Hebrew Day School-Yeshivat Akiva and uses the motto "A foundation in Torah, a lifetime of success." The latest name change came as part of a major endowment by the Audrey & William Farber Family.

Birmingham Country Club, located in Birmingham, Michigan, was founded in 1916 as Birmingham Golf Club. The golf course at the club hosted the PGA Championship in 1953, which Walter Burkemo won, as well as the 1968 United States Women's Amateur Golf Championship.

The 1953 PGA Championship was the 35th PGA Championship, held July 1–7 at Birmingham Country Club in Birmingham, Michigan, a suburb northwest of Detroit. Local resident Walter Burkemo won the match play championship, 2 & 1 over Felice Torza in the Tuesday final. The winner's share was $5,000 and the runner-up's was $3,000. Burkemo won his only major title in the second of his three finals; he lost to Sam Snead in 1951 and Chick Harbert in 1954. Johnny Palmer was the medalist of the stroke play qualifier, awarded $250 for his 134 (−8), with a second round at 66. He lost in the first round to Jack Grout; also defeated on "Black Friday" were pre-tournament favorites Cary Middlecoff, three-time champion Sam Snead, and defending champion Jim Turnesa. No former past champion advanced past the second round. Burkemo's win marked the second time that all four major championships were won by Americans in a calendar year.

Detroit Country Day School (also known as DCD, DCDS, or Country Day) is a private, secular school located in three campuses in Oakland County, in the U.S. state of Michigan, north of Detroit. The administrative offices, facility services, safety and security services, and the upper school (Grades 9-12) are situated in a campus in Beverly Hills. The middle school (Grades 4-8) is also located in Beverly Hills, seamlessly connected to the upper school. Additionally, the Lower School (PK-3) is situated in Bloomfield Township, near Bloomfield Hills. These campuses collectively provide a comprehensive educational experience. DCDS was founded in Detroit in 1914 by Alden Shaw inspired by the Country Day School movement. The school's motto is Mens Sana in Corpore Sano, a Latin phrase meaning "Sound Mind in a Sound Body". The school colors are blue and gold.

Southfield-Lathrup High School was a senior high school in Lathrup Village, Michigan, United States. It was the second oldest of three high schools in the Southfield Public Schools district, the oldest being Southfield High School, and the youngest being University High School Academy.Southfield-Lathrup High School was well known for its extensive and well-supported music program. It was also known locally for its girls' basketball team State Title in 2005.

Ernest W. Seaholm High School (simply referred to as Seaholm High School) is a Magnet high school in Birmingham, Michigan, United States. It was established in 1951 and is part of the Birmingham Public Schools district.

Southfield Christian School (SCS) is a private, college-preparatory Christian school in Southfield, Michigan. It is a ministry of Highland Park Baptist Church for grades PK–12.

Marian High School is a private, Roman Catholic high school for girls in Bloomfield Township, Michigan in Metro Detroit. Marian High School is located next to Brother Rice High School, an all-male Catholic high school in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit.

Brother Rice High School is a Roman Catholic all-boys non-residential college prep school with approximately 600 students located in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, United States in Metro Detroit. The school shares a campus with the all-girls Marian High School, Saint Regis Parish and the K-8 Saint Regis School.
