Oval City is an unincorporated community in Plain Township, Stark County, Ohio, United States.

Middlebranch is an unincorporated community in northeastern Plain Township, Stark County, Ohio, United States. It is located about 7 miles Northeast of Canton. It has a post office with the ZIP code 44652. The community is part of the Canton–Massillon Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area is mostly residential, with notable amounts of land being used for farming as well. Trains from the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway often run through the area carrying loads of scrap metal bound for other Ohio cities.A post office called Middle Branch was established in 1844, and the name was changed to Middlebranch in 1893. The community takes its name from the nearby Middle Branch Nimishillen Creek.

Plain Township is one of the seventeen townships of Stark County, Ohio, United States. The 2010 census found 52,501 people in the township, 35,543 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township. Located near the city of Canton, it is one of the more populous urban townships in Ohio.

GlenOak High School is a public high school in Plain Township, Ohio, United States, near Canton. It is the only high school in the Plain Local School District. Sports teams are called the Golden Eagles, and they compete in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the Federal League.

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1953 and completed in 1954, the John and Syd Dobkins House is one of three Wright-designed Usonian houses in Canton, Ohio. Located farther east than the Nathan Rubin Residence and the Ellis A. Feiman House, it is set back from the road. It's a modest sized home with two bedrooms, and one and a half baths. Its distinctive geometric design module is based upon an equilateral triangle (unit size 4 feet). The mortar in the deep red bricks was deeply raked to emphasize the horizontal. (Storrer: 388) Construction was supervised by Allan J. Gelbin, a Wright apprentice the architect sent from the Taliesin Fellowship. Gelbin acted as construction supervisor and contractor on this building as well as the two other buildings in Canton (the Rubin and Feiman houses). (Storrer: 388) The Gelbin house was built on a five-acre parcel that was once a cornfield. Along with a design for the house, Wright created an ingenious planting plan for the property which featured 14 pin oak trees planted in perfect relation to the structure. The home was purchased and restored by current homeowners, Dan and Dianne Chrzanowski.

Walsh University is a private Roman Catholic university in North Canton, Ohio. It enrolls approximately 2,700 students and was founded in 1960 by the Brothers of Christian Instruction as a liberal arts college. Walsh College became Walsh University in 1993. St. Thomas Aquinas High School (STA) is a private, Catholic co-educational high school located in Louisville, Ohio, United States, run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown. It was founded in 1964 to serve the Catholic families of eastern Stark County and parts of Portage County. When it opened, Aquinas enrolled both male and female students, but was a single-sex educational institution, as boys and girls attended classes within separate wings of the school. STA began practicing its current co-educational format in 1970.

Pleasant View School for the Arts, frequently referred to as PVSA or simply PV, was a co-educational public magnet school dedicated to the arts in the Plain Local School District in Canton, Ohio. Students from the district's 5 elementary schools were invited to "identify" for the school in the 3rd grade. This "identification" process had students demonstrate their abilities in the four designated Arts: Dance, Music, Drama, and Visual Art. The school accepted an average of 80 students per year, and spanned the 4th-8th grade, though it was technically identified as a middle school.
