Kerken

Aldekerk is a village and a part of the municipality of Kerken in Kleve (district), which is part of the Düsseldorf administrative region. in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located near the border with the Netherlands, approx. 15 km north-east of Venlo. It was an independent municipality until July 1969, when it was merged with Stenden, Eyll, Nieukerk and Vernum to form the new municipality Kerken.

Wachtendonk at the confluence of Niers River and Nette River is a municipality in the district of Kleve in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located west of the Rhine half way between Duisburg and Venlo at the Dutch border. Its name means 'bailiff's Donk'.

Wankum is a part of Wachtendonk in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Its location, near the A40 autobahn close to the border with The Netherlands, is infamous with British motorists who pass the sign to the Wankum exit shortly after entering Germany and view the name with amusement (sometimes photographing it) due to its two syllables in written appearance. The first is a British slang term for masturbation and the second may be delivered in speech as a colloquial version of them. Wankum is not far from the municipality called Titz. At one time, probably the most used petrol station in Germany was in Wankum. British troops serving in Germany may purchase a ration of fuel coupons to buy discounted fuel. However, these coupons are only redeemable at certain petrol stations (Shell, BP and Aral). Wankum was the last station before the Dutch border to accept petrol coupons; however they no longer do.

Grift is a drainage canal of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It discharges into the Ponter Dondert near Geldern. It is part of the Fossa Eugeniana, a planned 17th century canal that was to connect the Meuse near Venlo with the Rhine near Rheinberg.

Straelen (German pronunciation: [ˈʃtʁaːlən]; Low Rhenish: Strale) is a municipality in the district of Cleves, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located near the border with the Netherlands, approx. 10 km north-east of Venlo. Twinning : Bayon in Meurthe-et-Moselle (France), since 7 July 1963.
