Långängen

Stocksund (Swedish pronunciation: [stɔkˈsɵnːd]) is a upper class suburb in Metropolitan Stockholm, Sweden. Located immediately across the Edsviken and Stocksundet from Bergshamra, Stocksund is one of four parts of Danderyd Municipality north of Stockholm, which is the most affluent municipality of Sweden. Average real estate prices for houses are the highest in Sweden, similar to the neighbouring Djursholm. Glenstudio, where the group ABBA recorded the album ABBA, is located in Långängen, a part of Stocksund.

Bragevägen Railway Stop (in Swedish Bragevägens hållplats) used to be a railway stop of the Djursholmsbanan, a part of the Roslagsbanan which was discontinued in 1976. The station was situated at the intersection of Bragevägen and Valevägen in Djursholm, next to Djursholms församlingsgård. When coming from Stockholm Ö, it was the first stop after Djursholms Ösby and was followed by Djursholms Sveavägen.Station code: Bvg

Lappkärret is a small lake in Norra Djurgården in north-eastern Stockholm, Sweden, near Stockholm University. It is one of six lakes in Djurgården, the others being: Lillsjön, Uggleviken, Isbladskärret, Laduviken, and Spegeldammen. Through its location in the Royal National City Park, it is considered as a lake of great recreational value, especially popular among ornithologists and frequently used in classes at the University of Stockholm located nearby. As the name implies, it used to be a marsh until construction works for the student apartments at Lappkärrsberget punctured a subsoil spring in the 1960s. Today, the lake empties into the strait Lilla Värtan through a culvert and forms part of a proposed nature reserve in Norra Djurgården.

Djursholms Sveavägen used to be a railway stop at Djursholmsbanan, a part of Roslagsbanan which was discontinued in 1976. The station was situated at Sveavägen in Djursholm. The place name was added to the street name (with a genitive s) to avoid confusion with Sveavägen in Stockholm. Station code: Djs

Djursholms Ösby is a branch railway station on Roslagsbanan, a suburban commuter railway north of Stockholm in Sweden. It serves Ösby in Djursholm in Danderyd Municipality and is 6.6 km from Stockholm East Station. The station opened in 1890 when Djursholmsbanan line was inaugurated, at the site where this line branched off from the tracks to Rimbo, and was originally called Djursholm. From 1893 to 1920 the name of the station was Ösby and since then it has been Djursholms Ösby. The line was electrified on 15 May 1895. In 1910 another branch was opened, also from this site, first to Altorp, later extended to Lahäll and Näsbypark. With local traffic in four directions, the station became very busy, with approximately 340 trains per day in the early 1950s, making it one of Sweden's busiest railway stations at the time. It originally had a train shed for Djursholmsbanan. The original Djursholmsbanan (the Eddavägen branch line) was closed in 1976, and during the 1970s and 1980s the whole Roslagsbanan was threatened with closure, but in the late 1990s Djursholms Ösby station was completely renovated. There are four platforms: two for the Kårsta and Österskär lines and two for the Näsbypark line. The old station building remains in the middle, and is now rented by a private tenant. A signal box, which was still in use into the 1980s, also remains.

Spegeldammen (Swedish: (the) Mirror Pond) is a small lake in Norra Djurgården in north-eastern central Stockholm, Sweden. It is one of six lakes in Djurgården, the others being Lillsjön, Uggleviken, Isbladskärret, Laduviken, and Lappkärret. Located in the Royal National City Park, Spegeldammen is considered of great recreational value and forms part of a proposed nature reserve. It was created in the early 1980s after a shooting range here was closed and is today leased by an angling club for catch-and-release fishery.

Cosmonova is an IMAX Dome cinema and planetarium located in an annex of the Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm, Sweden. Cosmonova opened in 1993 and was the first ever dedicated IMAX installation in Sweden (and third in the Nordic countries after Tietomaa Science Centre in Oulu, Finland and Tycho Brahe Planetarium in Copenhagen, Denmark) and is also the largest planetarium in Sweden.

The Mittag-Leffler Institute is a mathematical research institute located in Djursholm, a suburb of Stockholm. It invites scholars to participate in half-year programs in specialized mathematical subjects. The Institute is run by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on behalf of research societies representing all the Scandinavian countries. The Institute's main building was originally the residence of Gösta Mittag-Leffler, who donated it along with his extensive mathematics library. At his death in 1927, however, Mittag-Leffler's fortune was insufficient to set up an active research institute, which began operation only in 1969 under the leadership of Lennart Carleson. The journals Acta Mathematica and Arkiv för Matematik are published by the institute. For a number of years at the beginning of the 20th century, Mittag-Leffler's villa hosted a celebratory dinner for Nobel Prize laureates.

The Swedish Museum of Natural History (Swedish: Naturhistoriska riksmuseet, literally, the National Museum of Natural History), in Stockholm, is one of two major museums of natural history in Sweden, the other one being located in Gothenburg.The museum was founded in 1819 by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, but goes back to the collections acquired mostly through donations by the academy since its foundation in 1739. These collections had first been made available to the public in 1786. The museum was separated from the Academy in 1965.One of the keepers of the collections of the academy during its earlier history was Anders Sparrman, a student of Carl Linnaeus and participant in the voyages of Captain James Cook. Another important name in the history of the museum is the zoologist, paleontologist and archaeologist Sven Nilsson, who brought the previously disorganised zoological collections of the museum into order during his time as keeper (1828–1831) before returning to Lund as professor.The present buildings for the museum in Frescati, Stockholm, was designed by the architect Axel Anderberg and completed in 1916, topped with a dome. As of 2014 it is the largest museum building in Sweden. The main campus of Stockholm University was later built next to the museum. The museum has Sweden's first purpose-built IMAX Dome cinema called Cosmonova, which opened in a dedicated annex of the museum in 1993. Stockholm University Library (Swedish: Stockholms universitetsbibliotek) is the research library of the University of Stockholm with one main library and eight unit libraries. Stockholm University Library is one of Sweden's largest research libraries, providing extensive access to e-books and other digital material as well as interlibrary loans. The focus groups are students, researchers and teachers. They have access to the collections of printed as well as online literature, tools for e-publishing of essays, study places, research results and education in information, scientific communication and how to work with references. Stockholm University Library is also a public library with over 1.4 million visitors in 2012.

Tranholmen is a locality situated in Danderyd Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 338 inhabitants in 2010. It is an island in Lilla Värtan, Sweden, less than 100 meters off the Danderyd coastline. In the winter season, when the water is frozen and travel by boat thus is impossible, a floating bridge connects the island to the mainland.
