Venus is a town in Johnson and Ellis counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 4,361 in 2020.

The Homesteads is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Johnson County, Texas, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.It is in the northeastern part of the county, 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Alvarado, 14 miles (23 km) west of Midlothian, 8 miles (13 km) south-southwest of Mansfield, and 13 miles (21 km) southeast of Burleson. Downtown Fort Worth is 25 miles (40 km) to the north-northwest.

The Woman's Club of Fort Worth is one of the city's oldest membership organizations, formed in 1923 by the members of several existing woman's clubs. The Woman's Club complex comprises eight historic buildings on Fort Worth's Near Southside and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017. As with many woman's clubs in the United States, the Woman's Club of Fort Worth has its roots in the Progressive Movement, with its original mission of "the cultural and civic advancement of Fort Worth; and the study of literature, history, science, painting, music, and other fine arts."

Alvarado ( AL-və-RAY-doh) is the oldest city in Johnson County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,739 in 2020.The community's first sheriff, A. H. Onstoott, is credited with naming Alvarado for Alvarado, Veracruz, Mexico, where he fought in a battle during the Mexican–American War.

Waxahachie Creek is a creek in Ellis County, Texas. The creek rises in Midlothian and flows for 23 miles, running parallel with U.S. Highway 287 from Midlothian to Waxahachie. The creek skirts Lake Waxahachie, flowing under U.S. Highway 77 before flowing into Lake Bardwell near Ennis.

Alvarado Park Lake is a reservoir in Johnson County, Texas 2 miles (3.2 km) southwest of Alvarado, Texas. The county-owned reservoir was built in 1966 by Jack P. McKinney for floodwater retention, municipal water storage, and recreation. It is controlled by the City of Alvarado. The lake is formed by damming the Turkey Creek, a tributary of Chambers Creek and the Trinity River. It drains 31 square miles (80 km2) and is impounded by a 3,500-foot-long (1,100 m) dam 49 feet (15 m) high with a spillway level of 704.1 feet (214.6 m). The water is stained to murky due to sediment.The nearest major highways are I-35W and US Hwy 67, each approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) from the lake.

Midlothian is a city in northwest Ellis County, Texas, United States. The city is 25 miles (40 km) southwest of Dallas. It is the hub for the cement industry in North Texas, as it is the home to three separate cement production facilities, as well as a steel mill. The population of Midlothian grew by 121% between 2000 and 2010, to a population of 18,037.

Lillian is an unincorporated community in Johnson County, Texas, United States. It is located along Farm to Market Road 2738, approximately 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Cleburne.

The Superconducting Super Collider (SSC) (also nicknamed the desertron) was a particle accelerator complex under construction in the vicinity of Waxahachie, Texas, United States. Its planned ring circumference was 87.1 kilometers (54.1 mi) with an energy of 20 TeV per proton and was designed to be the world's largest and most energetic particle accelerator. The laboratory director was Roy Schwitters, a physicist at the University of Texas at Austin. Department of Energy administrator Louis Ianniello served as its first project director, followed by Joe Cipriano, who came to the SSC Project from the Pentagon in May 1990. After 22.5 km (14 mi) of tunnel had been bored and about US$2 billion spent, the project was cancelled by the US Congress in 1993.

Mansfield High School is a public secondary school located at 3001 East Broad Street in Mansfield, Texas. Part of the Mansfield Independent School District, the school serves a portion of Mansfield. As of 2018, the school had 2,688 students. Mansfield High School is known for their baseball and golf sports programs. As well as being the last school district in the country to desegregate, and only doing so when the national guard was brought to escort the first 3 African American students into the building.

Walnut Creek is a creek in North Texas. The creek rises to the northeast of Keene in Johnson County, flowing to the Tarrant County near Mansfield. The creek runs to the northeast, forming the border between Dallas and Grand Prairie. The mouth of the creek is west of Duncanville where it meets Mountain Creek.

Lake Ridge High School, or LRHS, is a secondary school located in Mansfield, Texas, serving grades 9-12. It is one of seven Mansfield Independent School District high schools. Its mascot is the eagle.
