The Nederlands Uitvaart Museum Tot Zover (Dutch Funeral Museum So Far) is a museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands that displays the various funerary practices of the various cultures present in the Netherlands, with the view that these funerary practices provide a better understanding of these cultures.The museum is located in De Nieuwe Ooster, a memorial park in Amsterdam that includes a cemetery and crematorium. The original building was designed as a caretaker’s residence by Adriaan Willem Weissman (1858–1923), who was a Dutch city architect best known for designing the Stedelijk Museum.The collection includes items involved in funerary practices such as funerary masks, caskets and urns, as well as paintings and movie clips that demonstrate these funerary practices. The museum explores death and funerary practices along four themes: rituals, the body, mourning and remembrance, and memento mori.In addition to its collection, the Museum Tot Zover hosts temporary exhibitions of art and history. One of the museum’s exhibitions is “The Last Image,” which is a digital, online exhibition to which anyone can submit content. The premise of this ongoing exhibition is to explore the implications of photography and digital space in the process of death and dying.

Jaap Edenhal (sometimes anglicized as Jaap Eden Hall) is a 4,500-capacity indoor ice rink located adjacent to Jaap Eden baan in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is named after Dutch speed skater Jaap Eden. The Amsterdam Tigers are its primary tenant. The facility opened in 1973 and has also been used as a concert venue. The Jaap Edenhal was created by rebuilding the hockey rink next to the track. In addition to being the home rink of the Amsterdam Tigers of the BeNe League, and formerly the home of the Amsterdam G's in the now defunct Eredivise, the Jaap Edenhal was used for the national ice-skating championships in 1974. It has also hosted fleamarkets, exhibitions, a Saturday night disco skate popular with teenagers, the Amsterdam Skate Festival (including roller-disco) and in particular concerts. Artists that have performed at the venue include ABBA, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Rod Stewart, Siouxsie and the Banshees, John Denver, Iron Maiden, Olivia Newton-John, Dio, Run-DMC (their first appearance in the Netherlands), and The Police. In 1986, it was listed by Billboard as one of the major concert venues in the country.

The Jaap Edenbaan (translated: Jaap Eden track) is an ice rink located in the Watergraafsmeer, a neighborhood of eastern Amsterdam. The rink is named after the famous Dutch ice skater Jaap Eden. It contains a 400-meter lane and Jaap Edenhal. The hall is the home of the Amsterdam Tigers of the BeNe League. There is also a rink for children and beginners beside the course proper, and a climbing wall.When the Jaap Eden baan opened in December 1961, it was the first artificial 400-meter ice rink in the Netherlands and the third in the world. The ice is created by spraying water on concrete that rests on a framework of some 269 tubes filled with evaporating ammonia. Built on an existing athletic track, it was originally intended to be dismantled every summer, but the process required so much work that it was only done once.

The Watergraafsmeer is a polder in the Netherlands. It was reclaimed in 1629. In the 17th and 18th centuries, there were many buitenplaatsen in the Watergraafsmeer, though nowadays only one, Frankendael, remains. Since 1921, the Watergraafsmeer is part of the city of Amsterdam and its rural character has all but disappeared. It is located in the borough of Amsterdam-Oost. The most important streets in the Watergraafsmeer are the Middenweg and the Kruislaan.

Frankendael is one of two remaining buitenplaats (country estates) in Amsterdam (the other is Amstelrust). It comprises Huis Frankendael and the adjoining Park Frankendael in Watergraafsmeer. The house (Huis Frankendael), located at Middenweg 72, is a historic country residence in Tuindorp Frankendaal (Amsterdam-Oost)., It was probably built largely between the second half or end of the 17th century and around 1733. It is a Rijksmonument, and owned by the municipality of Amsterdam. The building houses a restaurant and rooms that are used for various events.

Real Sranang (English: Royal Suriname) are a Dutch amateur football (soccer) club from Amsterdam, founded on 1 June 1960, who play their home games at the Sportpark Middenmeer.

Op de Valreep was a squatted building in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Occupied in 2011, the former animal shelter was converted into a self-managed social centre. The squatters resisted eviction with creative actions, such as pretending the council had given them ownership and making spoof election materials. They were forcibly removed in 2014; the building was later converted into a restaurant.

Amsterdam Science Park is a railway station in the borough Amsterdam-Oost in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The station lies on the Amsterdam–Zutphen railway between the railway stations Amsterdam Muiderpoort and Diemen. The station serves the Science Park Amsterdam and the Watergraafsmeer, as well as Amsterdam University College and the Science Park campus of the University of Amsterdam. The construction of the station started in June 2009 and it was opened on 13 December 2009 by Amsterdam Mayor Job Cohen. It is one of the fast moving railway station.

Amsterdam-Oost is a borough of Amsterdam, Netherlands, established in May 2010 after a merger of the former boroughs of Zeeburg and Oost-Watergraafsmeer. In 2013, the borough had almost 123,000 inhabitants.

Betondorp (Dutch pronunciation: [bəˈtɔndɔr(ə)p]; Concrete Village) is a neighbourhood of Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was built in the 1920s as an experiment in building affordable housing with new, cheap building materials, chiefly concrete. The houses are built in a sober, minimalist form of Art Deco.Betondorp is located in the Watergraafsmeer neighbourhood. Footballer Johan Cruyff was born and raised in Betondorp. In his teens he joined Ajax, his hometown club that had their stadium and training ground right across from where he grew up. Another Betondorp native is writer Gerard Reve who based the setting of his novel The Evenings on Betondorp.

Oostpoort (Dutch pronunciation: [oːstpoːrt]; English: East Gate) is a neighborhood in the borough Amsterdam-Oost in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The neighborhood is situated at 52°21′28″N 4°55′53″E between the Linnaeusstraat, the Ringvaart, the Amsterdam–Arnhem railway, and the Amsterdam–Zutphen railway.Initially, the area was named Polderweggebied after the Polderweg, which is a road running through it. Between 1885 and 1921, the Oostergasfabriek (Eastern Gas Factory) was located in the area. After the factory was closed, the neighborhood became a business area. In the early 2000s, multiple buildings were demolished and the terrain was remediated. In 2007, the first new buildings were constructed. In 2008, the neighborhood was renamed Oostpoort.In 2013, Oostpoort had a population of 573. The local government is expecting the population to peak with 2,274 in the year 2020.The district office (Dutch: stadsdeelkantoor) of Amsterdam-Oost, a shopping area, one primary school, and two secondary schools are located in Oostpoort.

De Meer Stadion (Dutch pronunciation: [də ˈmeːr ˌstaːdijɔn]) is the former stadium of Dutch record football champions Ajax. It was opened in 1934 as a result of the club's former stadium being too small. Upon completion, it could hold 22,000 spectators, but accommodating up to 29,500 at its maximum. Over time, as Ajax's popularity and success grew, the De Meer proved to be too small. From 1928 onward, Ajax played their big European games at the Olympic Stadium. The larger venue also hosted Ajax's midweek night games, since the De Meer was not suited for floodlights. The De Meer was abandoned with the opening of the purpose built Amsterdam Arena in 1996, which is now called the Johan Cruyff Arena. The Dutch national football team played five international matches at the stadium, winning all of them. The first one, on August 22, 1973 was a qualifying match for the 1974 FIFA World Cup against Iceland (5-0). The last one, played on 25 March 1992, was a friendly against Yugoslavia (2-0). The final match at De Meer was an Eredivisie game in which Ajax hosted Willem II on 28 April 1996. The home side won 5-1 with Finidi George scoring a hattrick, but the final ever goal in the stadium was scored by Willem II striker Jack de Gier.Following the club's departure, the De Meer was demolished to make way for a housing development. However, the area is commemorated by having the new streets named after famous football stadia from around the world. The centrespot was recreated cosmetically as the real centrespot was built over.
