It was created with the 1992 redistribution.It covers the western suburbs of Brisbane south of the Brisbane River. The Western Arterial Road runs through the middle of the seat from north to south. The suburb is split by the industrial suburb of Seventeen Mile Rocks between the older suburbs around Corinda in the east and the more recent areas around Mount Ommaney. A significant population of elderly voters are found in the Sinnamon Village retirement complex in Sinnamon Park.

It is also known as Seventeen Mile Rocks Church. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.

Sinnamon Farm is a heritage-listed farm at 645 & 693 Seventeen Mile Rocks Road, Sinnamon Park, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was built from 1869 to 1890s. It is also known as Avondale & Macleod aviation site, Beechwood, Glen Ross, and Seventeen Mile Rocks School. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.

Mt Ommaney Centre is located on Dandenong Road in the suburb of Mount Ommaney in the southwest of Brisbane. After a major expansion, which was completed in 2010, the centre now has over 170 stores. Major tenants include Big W, Coles, Kmart Australia, Target Australia, Woolworths, Aldi and JB Hi-Fi.

Rocks Riverside Park is a park by the Brisbane River in Seventeen Mile Rocks, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The park was opened on 7 December 2003, and features industrial artefacts from its previous use by the Queensland Cement and Lime Company. Public art which draws upon the park's industrial heritage are also featured throughout, as is a crop patch which reflects the site's farming days. Rocks Riverside Park is the largest riverfront park in Brisbane. It has 800 metres of riverfrontage and covers an area of 26 hectare. The park is nestled in amongst other industrial sites at 5 Counihan Road, Seventeen Mile Rocks in Brisbane, Australia. The project architect was Cenk Yuksel. The main builders were Naturform and Stewart Constructions.

The Centenary Bridge is a motorway crossing of the Brisbane River. As it forms part of Brisbane's Centenary Motorway, it is used primarily by vehicular traffic, although it includes footpaths for pedestrian traffic. Built to service the new Centenary Suburbs of Jindalee, Mount Ommaney and Westlake, the original two lane bridge opened in 1964. It was financed by the developers of the suburbs, LJ Hooker.The bridge was duplicated to two lanes each way as part of an upgrade of the Centenary Highway and Western Freeway south of Mount Cootha Road. The works were officially opened by Russell Hinze, Minister for Main Roads, on 27 March 1987.During the 1974 floods, the bridge was badly damaged when a barge rammed into its upstream side. The barge blocked the flow of floodwaters under the bridge and there were real fears that the bridge would collapse. The barge was deliberately holed using explosives and allowed to sink to reduce the floodwater pressure on the bridge. When the floodwater receded, the barge was refloated and beached downstream near Fig Tree Pocket to be cut up for scrap. The damage sustained by the bridge required its partial closure for repairs. For two years after the floods, the bridge was reduced to a single lane, with one way traffic controlled by traffic lights at each end of the bridge.

It was designed by Francis Drummond Greville Stanley and built in 1882. It is also known as Regina Coeli Retreat and St Mary's Retreat. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 25 September 2020.
