The Nevada Assembly is the lower house of the Nevada Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Nevada, the upper house being the Nevada Senate. The body consists of 42 members, elected to two-year terms from single-member districts. Each district contained approximately 64,299 people as of the 2010 United States Census. Term limits, limiting assembly members to six 2-year terms (12 years), took effect in 2010. Twelve members of the Nevada Assembly were termed out with the 2010 election serving their last legislative session in 2011. The Nevada Assembly met at the Nevada State Capitol in Carson City until 1971, when a separate Legislative Building was constructed south of the Capitol. The Legislative Building was expanded in 1997 to its current appearance to accommodate the growing Nevada Legislature. Since the 2012 session, Assembly districts have been formed by dividing the 21 Senate districts in half, so that each Assembly district is nested within a Senate district.

The Nevada Legislature is a bicameral body, consisting of the lower house, the Assembly, with 42 members, and the upper house, the Senate, with 21. With a total of 63 seats, the Legislature is the third-smallest bicameral state legislature in the United States, after Alaska's (60 members) and Delaware's (62). The Nevada State Legislature as of 2019 is the first majority female State Legislature in the history of the United States. As of 2022, the Democratic Party controls both houses of the Nevada State Legislature. In the 2022 Nevada elections, which were a part of the midterm elections for that year, the Democratic Party obtained a supermajority in the lower house of the state legislature. As for the upper house of the state legislature, the elections provided the Democratic Party with thirteen of the twenty-one seats—amounting to a partisan composition of 61.9 percent.

The St. Charles-Muller's Hotel, at 302-304-310 S. Carson St. in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic hotel built in 1862. It has also been known as the St. Charles Hotel and as the Pony Express Hotel. It includes vernacular Italianate architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It faces across Carson Street (U.S. 395) towards the Nevada State Capitol and is the oldest surviving brick building on Main Street. It is also the longest continuously operating hotel in the State of Nevada.

It currently (2012–2021) consists of 21 members from single-member districts. In the previous redistricting (2002–2011) there were 19 districts, two of which were multimember. Since 2012, there have been 21 districts, each formed by combining two neighboring state assembly districts. Each State Senator represented approximately 128,598 as of the 2010 United States Census. Article Four of the Constitution of Nevada sets that State Senators serve staggered four-year terms.In addition, the size of the Senate is set to be no less than one-third and no greater than one-half of the size of the Assembly. Term limits, limiting senators to three 4-year terms (12 years), took effect in 2010. Because of the change in Constitution, seven senators were termed out in 2010, four were termed out in 2012, and one was termed out in 2014. The Senate met at the Nevada State Capitol in Carson City until 1971, when a separate Legislative Building was constructed south of the Capitol. The Legislative Building was expanded in 1997 to its current appearance to accommodate the growing Legislature.

Ormsby House is a closed hotel and casino in Carson City, Nevada. Originally opened in 1972, it closed on October 30, 2000, for extensive renovations. The re-opening was originally planned for July 4, 2001, but was pushed back many times due to many construction delays, many remodels, and management changes. Through January 2023, the Ormsby House Hotel property is up for sale, and is expected to possibly be converted into housing and retail space.

The Nevada State Capitol is the capitol building of the U.S. state of Nevada located in the state capital of Carson City at 101 North Carson Street. The building was constructed in the Neoclassical Italianate style between 1869 and 1871. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is also Nevada Historical Marker number 25.

Max Casino (until 2013, formerly the Carson Station) and earlier, The Travelodge Casino, is a hotel and casino located in Carson City, Nevada. The Max Casino contains 12,250 square feet (1,138 m2) of casino gaming space and 91 rooms. Max Casino had both blackjack and craps in the casino as table games from 2012 to 2017. Formerly owned by Clark Russell, the Max Hotel Casino has been owned and operated by 777 Gaming since 2011.The Max Casino currently has a wide variety of slot machines and video poker machines. The casino also has a live entertainment stage, and a sports book operated by William Hill, a major Nevada and international sportsbook company. On September 11, 2015, the Max Casino (formerly the Carson Station) was issued 71 complaints by the Nevada Gaming Commission citing many violations of Nevada Gaming Laws.

The Rinckel Mansion is a historic house in Carson City, Nevada, United States, that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

The Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records (NSLAPR) is the official State Library and State Archives for Nevada located in Carson City, Nevada. It is also combined with the Records Services department which manages public records in the State of Nevada for state agencies and local governments. The library manages many programs for public libraries including public library certification and standards, LSTA grants, bookmobile funding and training for library trustees. They oversee Nevada Talking Book Services for print-disabled users, Nevada Center for the Book, and the Nevada State Data Center to help localities work with census data.

The Nevada State Printing Office, at 101 S. Fall St. in Carson City, Nevada, was built in 1885–86. Also known as the Old State Printing Office, it was a work of Reno architect M.J. Curtis. It is located across from the Nevada State Capitol building. Also known as the Old State Printing Office, it was a work of two architects named Morrill J. Curtis and Seymore Pixley. It is the second oldest State-built structure in the Capitol Complex. It is a "substantial" building built with stone walls made of 27 courses of one foot height sandstone ashlar blocks. Lesser quality extensions of the building were added in 1938, 1951, 1955 and 1958. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Olcovich–Meyers House, at 214 W. King St. in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic, well-preserved house that was built during 1874–75 with Late Victorian architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. The listing included two contributing buildings.It is reportedly one of few surviving houses in Carson City that have "Gothic-influenced" architecture. The house also shows Italianate and Eastlake stylistic elements. It was built by Joseph Olcovich for his brother Bernard. Victorian details were probably added in the late 1880s, by George Meyers, who then owned it.

The Sears–Ferris House, at 311 W Third Street in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic house built in 1863. It was owned from 1868 to 1890 by George Washington Gale Ferris Sr., father of George Washington Gale Ferris Jr., future inventor of the Ferris wheel. It has also been known as the G. W. G. Ferris House. Originally built in about 1863 by Gregory A. Sears, a pioneer Carson City businessman, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places for Carson City in 1979. It includes Colonial Revival and Georgian Revival architecture. This house is square in size and its measure is roughly sixty by sixty feet. It is currently under private ownership and not open to the public.
