Quy Hall

Quy railway station served the parish of Stow cum Quy, Cambridgeshire, England from 1884 to 1964 on the Cambridge to Mildenhall railway.

Stow cum Quy , commonly referred to as Quy, is a village and civil parish in Cambridgeshire, England. Situated around 4 miles (6.4 km) north east of Cambridge lying between the Burwell Road (B1102) and the medieval Cambridge to Newmarket road (B1303, formerly A14), it covers an area of 764 hectares (1,890 acres).

Leightonstone was a hundred of Huntingdonshire mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. It took its name from the stone at Leighton Bromswold where the area's moot was held. In modern times it was an ecclesiastical administrative area within the Diocese of Ely.The Hundred of Leightonstone containing the parishes of Alconbury-Cum-Weston; Barham; Brampton; Brington; Buckworth; Bythorn; Catworth; Copmanford; Covington; Easton; Ellington; Great Gidding; Little Gidding; Steeple Gidding; Grafham; Hamerton; Keyston; Kimbolton; Leighton Bromswold; Molesworth; Spaldwick; Stow Longa; Swineshead; Thurning (part); Tilbrook; Upton; Old Weston; Winwick (part); Woolley. In two cases in the Domesday Book (in the lands of Eustace the Sheriff, and in those of the Countess Judith), the lands of this hundred are given as in Kimbolton Hundred. It is possible that this may have been an alternative name, but it is more probably due to a mistake of the Domesday scribe.

Stow-Cum-Quy Fen is a 29.9-hectare (74-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Lode in Cambridgeshire. Most of it is common land.The site is calcareous loam pasture, with diverse flora and open pools which have rare aquatic plants. Grassland herbs include purging flax and salad burnet, and there are aquatic plants such as unbranched bur-reed, mare's tail and bladderwort.There is access to the site by footpaths from Lode and Horningsea.

Wilbraham Fens is a 62.5-hectare (154-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Cambridge.This is an example of a fen habitat, which is now rare in Britain, with grassland, scrub, ponds and ditches. The dominant fen species is common reed, which is present in dense stands, together with plants such as purple loosestrife and meadow rue. Herbs include harebell and field scabious.There is no public access but the site can be viewed from footpaths.

Anglesey Abbey is a National Trust property in the village of Lode, 5+1⁄2 miles (8.9 km) northeast of Cambridge, England. The property includes a country house, built on the remains of a priory, 98 acres (400,000 m2) of gardens and landscaped grounds, and a working mill. The priory was closed in 1536 during the dissolution of the monasteries and a Jacobean-style house was built on the site of the ruins in about 1600. Owners down the centuries included Thomas Hobson and his Parker descendants, and three local clergymen. The last private owner was Lord Fairhaven who lived in the house from 1926 until he died in 1966. He made extensive additions to the house to accommodate his collection of furniture, art, books and objets d'art and landscaped the grounds. On his death, he left the house and its contents to the National Trust.

Lode is a small village in East Cambridgeshire on the southern edge of The Fens. It lies just north of the B1102 between Quy and Swaffham Bulbeck, 8 miles (13 km) to the north east of Cambridge. The village's name is derived from its location at the southern end of Bottisham Lode that links it to the River Cam. A lode is an artificial water channel used to drain the Fens, thought to be of Roman origin. Lode also has the smaller hamlet settlement of Long Meadow as part of the parish to the east along the B1102. Lode is a comparatively new civil parish, having been separated from Bottisham in 1894.

Bottisham and Lode Railway Station is a disused railway station on the Cambridge to Mildenhall railway in East Anglia, England. The station is located on the northern outskirts of the village of Lode, at the end of Station Road. The station opened in 1884 as one of the intermediate stops on the Cambridge to Mildenhall railway. It was originally known as Bottisham Station at the beginning and became Bottisham and Lode Station in 1897 when the then single parish of the separate settlements of Bottisham and Lode split into two distinct village parishes for the first time. The station closed for passengers in 1962 and goods in 1964.

Horningsea is a small village north of Cambridge in Cambridgeshire in England. The parish covers an area of 2.6 square miles (6.7 km2; 1,700 acres). It lies on the east bank of the River Cam, and on the road from Cambridge to Clayhithe. The nearest railway station is Waterbeach, 1+1⁄2 miles (2.4 km) away. Listed as Horningesea in the Domesday Book, the village's name derives from either "Island (or dry ground in marsh) of a man called Horning" or "Island by the horn-shaped hill".

Teversham is a small village in Cambridgeshire, England about 2 miles (3 km) from Fulbourn and about 3 miles (5 km) from the centre of Cambridge. It is smaller than neighbouring villages. Although just a few hundred metres from the edge of Cambridge it is bordered by farmland on all sides.

Waterbeach railway station is on the Fen line in the east of England, serving the village of Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire. It is 61 miles 1 chain (98.2 km) measured from London Liverpool Street and 63 miles 29 chains (102 km) from London King's Cross; it is situated between Cambridge North and Ely stations. Its three-letter station code is WBC. The station and most trains calling are operated by Great Northern, with limited peak services being operated by Greater Anglia. Waterbeach station is unstaffed, and has only basic waiting shelters on each of the two platforms. All the station buildings have been demolished. The platforms are staggered on each side of a half barrier level crossing. Until electrification and the automation of the crossing, the platforms were located opposite each other.

Fulbourn railway station (for some time misspelled "Fulbourne" by British Rail) is a disused railway station on the Ipswich to Ely Line, and located between Cambridge and Six Mile Bottom. It served the Cambridgeshire village of Fulbourn, until its closure in January 1967. Although the station is now closed, the line remains in use—with passenger services provided by Abellio Greater Anglia. Reopening of the station was proposed by Cambridgeshire County Council in May 2013 as part of an infrastructure plan to deal with projected population growth up to 2050.
