Carson City Civic Auditorium

Eagle Valley is the area encompassing Carson City, Nevada. The valley was first settled during the California Gold Rush of 1849. The discovery of Nevada's Comstock Lode in 1859 established the economic importance of the area, which would become the site of the Nevada State Capitol.

The Kitzmeyer Furniture Factory, at 319 N. Carson St. in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic building built in 1873. It is the oldest surviving Italianate-style commercial buildings in the commercial core area of Carson City.It was built to provide a furniture showroom on the ground floor and furniture factory space above, and served in this way until 1901. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

The Leport–Toupin House, at 503 E. Telegraph St. in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic simplified-Second Empire-style house that was built in 1879. It was converted to a pre-school in 1969. Also known as the Hawkins House, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.It was deemed significant for its architecture and also for its association with Alexander Leport (1837–1885), a French-born businessman who came to Carson City in 1879 and developed grocery, saloon, drugstore, barber shop and other businesses. He arranged for the house to be built in anticipation of his 1880 marriage to Frenchwoman Mary Blavee. In 1891, six years after Leport's death, Mary Leport married Edmond S. Toupin, a French-Canadian who took over Leport's businesses. In 1907 ownership of the house passed to Theodore Perry Hawkins and his wife, Clara.The house is one of few Second Empire houses in Carson City, and the only one in its east side residential area.

The Nevada State Printing Office, at 101 S. Fall St. in Carson City, Nevada, was built in 1885–86. Also known as the Old State Printing Office, it was a work of Reno architect M.J. Curtis. It is located across from the Nevada State Capitol building. Also known as the Old State Printing Office, it was a work of two architects named Morrill J. Curtis and Seymore Pixley. It is the second oldest State-built structure in the Capitol Complex. It is a "substantial" building built with stone walls made of 27 courses of one foot height sandstone ashlar blocks. Lesser quality extensions of the building were added in 1938, 1951, 1955 and 1958. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records (NSLAPR) is the official State Library and State Archives for Nevada located in Carson City, Nevada. It is also combined with the Records Services department which manages public records in the State of Nevada for state agencies and local governments. The library manages many programs for public libraries including public library certification and standards, LSTA grants, bookmobile funding and training for library trustees. They oversee Nevada Talking Book Services for print-disabled users, Nevada Center for the Book, and the Nevada State Data Center to help localities work with census data.

The Bank Saloon, at 418 S. Carson St. in Carson City, Nevada, was built in 1899. Also known as Jack's Bar, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.It was deemed significant as "the representative of a class of establishments that have played a vital role in the social and political atmosphere of Carson City, essentially a small rural community that enjoys the honor of being Nevada's capitol." It opened August 19, 1899 and is apparently the longest continuously operating bar in Carson City, having served even through Prohibition. Being across from the Nevada State Capitol, it is believed to have had hosted many informal meetings that have affected the course of history in the state.: 3 The original Jack's Bar closed in June 2002, and the building fell into severe disrepair, including visibly leaning walls and nesting pigeons. Restoration work began in May 2017 and finished in 2020, with an official re-opening in November of that year as the Bank Saloon once more.

The Nevada Assembly is the lower house of the Nevada Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Nevada, the upper house being the Nevada Senate. The body consists of 42 members, elected to two-year terms from single-member districts. Each district contained approximately 64,299 people as of the 2010 United States Census. Term limits, limiting assembly members to six 2-year terms (12 years), took effect in 2010. Twelve members of the Nevada Assembly were termed out with the 2010 election serving their last legislative session in 2011. The Nevada Assembly met at the Nevada State Capitol in Carson City until 1971, when a separate Legislative Building was constructed south of the Capitol. The Legislative Building was expanded in 1997 to its current appearance to accommodate the growing Nevada Legislature. Since the 2012 session, Assembly districts have been formed by dividing the 21 Senate districts in half, so that each Assembly district is nested within a Senate district.

The Nevada Legislature is a bicameral body, consisting of the lower house, the Assembly, with 42 members, and the upper house, the Senate, with 21. With a total of 63 seats, the Legislature is the third-smallest bicameral state legislature in the United States, after Alaska's (60 members) and Delaware's (62). The Nevada State Legislature as of 2019 is the first majority female State Legislature in the history of the United States. As of 2022, the Democratic Party controls both houses of the Nevada State Legislature. In the 2022 Nevada elections, which were a part of the midterm elections for that year, the Democratic Party obtained a supermajority in the lower house of the state legislature. As for the upper house of the state legislature, the elections provided the Democratic Party with thirteen of the twenty-one seats—amounting to a partisan composition of 61.9 percent.

The St. Charles-Muller's Hotel, at 302-304-310 S. Carson St. in Carson City, Nevada, is a historic hotel built in 1862. It has also been known as the St. Charles Hotel and as the Pony Express Hotel. It includes vernacular Italianate architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It faces across Carson Street (U.S. 395) towards the Nevada State Capitol and is the oldest surviving brick building on Main Street. It is also the longest continuously operating hotel in the State of Nevada.

Carson High School is a high school (grades 9–12) in Carson City, Nevada, United States. It is a part of the Carson City School District.

The Nevada Senate is the upper house of the Nevada Legislature, the state legislature of U.S. state of Nevada, the lower house being the Nevada Assembly. It currently (2012–2021) consists of 21 members from single-member districts. In the previous redistricting (2002–2011) there were 19 districts, two of which were multimember. Since 2012, there have been 21 districts, each formed by combining two neighboring state assembly districts. Each State Senator represented approximately 128,598 as of the 2010 United States Census. Article Four of the Constitution of Nevada sets that State Senators serve staggered four-year terms.In addition, the size of the Senate is set to be no less than one-third and no greater than one-half of the size of the Assembly. Term limits, limiting senators to three 4-year terms (12 years), took effect in 2010. Because of the change in Constitution, seven senators were termed out in 2010, four were termed out in 2012, and one was termed out in 2014. The Senate met at the Nevada State Capitol in Carson City until 1971, when a separate Legislative Building was constructed south of the Capitol. The Legislative Building was expanded in 1997 to its current appearance to accommodate the growing Legislature.

The Nevada State Capitol is the capitol building of the U.S. state of Nevada located in the state capital of Carson City at 101 North Carson Street. The building was constructed in the Neoclassical Italianate style between 1869 and 1871. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It is also Nevada Historical Marker number 25.
