Murfreesboro Historic District is a national historic district located at Murfreesboro, Hertford County, North Carolina. The district encompasses nine contributing buildings in the oldest section of the city of Murfreesboro. The buildings include notable examples of Greek Revival style architecture. They are the William Rea Store (c. 1790); John Wheeler House (c. 1800) birthplace of John H. Wheeler (1806-1882) and later home of Congressman Jesse Johnson Yeates (1829-1892); Myrick House (c. 1810); Melrose (c. 1810) home of Congressman William H. Murfree (1781 – 1827); The Hertford Academy (c. 1810); Roberts-Vaughan House (c. 1810); Dr. Isaac Pipkin House (c. 1825); Rose Bower (c. 1830); and the Walter Reed House (c. 1845) childhood home of Walter Reed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Twin Houses is a historic home located at Shawboro, Currituck County, North Carolina. It was built about 1797, and consists of two separate two-story, five bay by two bay, identical Federal style structures, joined by a transverse hall. Each house has a hall-and-parlor plan, exterior end chimneys, and they are connected by a one-story, gable roofed, connecting hall.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.Col. Henry Shaw and his wife are buried at the property, which is currently owned by local historian E. Ray Ethrridge.

It was built about 1885, and is a two-story, three bay by two bay, Italianate style frame dwelling on a brick foundation. It features a three-story tower and has a two-story rear wing. Currituck County Courthouse and Jail is a historic courthouse and jail located at Currituck, Currituck County, North Carolina. The original two-story section of the courthouse was built about 1842, enlarged in 1897, and a rear wing was added in 1952. The 1897 remodeling added a second floor to the original one-story wings and Classical Revival style design elements. The jail was built about 1857, and is a two-story, rectangular building with 32 inch thick brick walls. It is one of the oldest extant jails in North Carolina. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Flyway Club is a historic shooting club at 221 Marsh Causeway in Knotts Island, North Carolina. Located on more than 400 acres (160 ha) facing Currituck Sound on the west side of Knotts Island, it is one of the oldest surviving fowl hunting clubs in the state. Its main lodge was built about 1920, and rebuilt in a near replica in 1960 after being destroyed by fire. The lodge also includes a large U-shaped farm building, also built about 1920, that housed the club staff and farming equipment. The club was established by Ogden Mills Reid, and remained in the Reid family until 2013, when it was acquired by the Conservation Fund.Twenty-six acres of the club's property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Caleb Grandy House is a historic home located near Belcross, Camden County, North Carolina. It was built about 1787, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, hall-and-parlor plan Late Georgian style dwelling. It has a gable roof and one-story shed-roof porch. It features massive paved, double shouldered chimneys at the gable ends. The house was restored in the 1940s by architect Frank Dawson.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
