Vestingmuseum Oudeschans (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvɛstɪŋmyˌzeːjʏm ˈʌudəˌsxɑns]; English: Oudeschans Fortification Museum) is a local museum in the village of Oudeschans in the Netherlands. The museum shows the history of the 16th-century fortification of Oudeschans and has a collection of archaeological findings. The museum opened on 12 September 1987. The building was renovated in 2009. The museum lost its structural municipal subsidy in 2010. The museum staff consists of volunteers only. With 1,195 visitors in 2015, it is one of the lesser-visited museums in Groningen.

Pekel A or Pekel Aa (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈpeːkəl ˈaː]) is a river in the Province of Groningen in the Netherlands. The villages of Oude Pekela and Nieuwe Pekela have been named after the river. The name translates to Brine (Pekel) River (A), and used to flow from the Dollart into a large raised bog. The Dollart was poldered from the 15th century until 1924, and the river now has its source at the confluence with the Westerwoldsche Aa at De Bult. The river was canalised and extended. The part from Oude Pekela to Stadskanaal was renamed Pekelderdiep. From 1599 until 1810, the area through which the river flowed, was a peat colony. In the 20th century, the Pekel A was a heavily polluted river, but it has been cleaned up since the 1970s.

Klein-Ulsda (Dutch pronunciation: [klɛin ˈʏlzdaː]; English: Small Ulsda) is a hamlet near Oudeschans in the municipality of Westerwolde in the Netherlands. The hamlet was first mentioned between 1851 and 1855 Kl. Ulsda, and means little Ulsda after the nearby village. It was sometimes refer to as Hutte(n), because of the tiny houses. The postal authorities have placed it under Oudeschans. Klein-Ulsda has place name signs. It was home to 64 people in 1840.

Bellingwedde (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌbɛlɪŋˈʋɛdə] ) was a municipality with a population of data missing in the province Groningen in the northeast of the Netherlands. Bellingwedde was established in 1968, when the municipalities of Bellingwolde and Wedde had merged. It contained the villages Bellingwolde, Blijham, Oudeschans, Veelerveen, Vriescheloo, and Wedde. After almost 50 year, Bellingwedde was disestablished in 2018, when the municipalities of Bellingwedde and Vlagtwedde had merged into Westerwolde.

Ulsda (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʏlzdaː]; abbreviation: Ul/Uld) was a railway stop (Dutch: stopplaats) in the village of Ulsda in the Netherlands. It was situated on the Harlingen–Nieuweschans railway between Winschoten and Nieuweschans. Trains called at Ulsda from 1887 until the railway stop was closed in 1938. Services were provided by Staatsspoorwegen (1887–1937) and Nederlandse Spoorwegen (1938). The stop had first a shelter (1890–1930) and later a building (1930–1950).

The Rechthuis (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈrɛxtɦœys]; English: Law House) is a former courthouse in the village of Bellingwolde in the Netherlands. The building with two crow-stepped gables was established in 1643 and used as a civil court for the area Bellingwolde-Blijham until 1811. The building has been a national heritage site since 1972. It is currently used as a private residence.

The Magnuskerk (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈmɑxnʏsˌkɛr(ə)k]; English: Magnus Church) is a 16th-century church in Bellingwolde, Netherlands. The church, located at Hoofdweg 227, was built in 1527. The pulpit was installed in 1660 and the organ built in 1797. The church has been a national heritage site since 1972. It is currently used by the Protestant Church in the Netherlands.

Bellingwolde (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌbɛlɪŋˈʋɔldə]; Gronings: Bennewolle) is a village with a population of 2,655 people in the municipality Westerwolde in the Netherlands. It is situated in the southeast of the region Oldambt, in the north of the region Westerwolde, and in the east of the province Groningen, at the border with Germany. The settlement dates back to the 11th century. It flooded multiple times until the 16th century. In the 18th and 19th century agriculture prospered and large farmhouses were built. It was a separate municipality until it merged with Wedde into Bellingwedde in 1968. Bellingwolde has a state protected village area with several monumental farmhouses. Other attractions are the Magnus Church, the Law House, Veldkamp's Mill, and Museum de Oude Wolden. There are four primary schools and a secondary school in the village.

Museum de Oude Wolden (Dutch pronunciation: [myˈzeːjʏm də ˌʔʌudə ˈʋɔldə(n)]; English: Museum The Old Wolds), abbreviated as MOW, is a regional museum in the village of Bellingwolde in the Netherlands. The museum focuses on art and history of the regions of Oldambt and Westerwolde in the east of the province of Groningen. The museum opened on 10 August 1973. In the first decades, it primarily exhibited historical objects documenting everyday life. In the late 1990s, the museum started to exhibit artworks of artist collective De Ploeg and magic realist painter Lodewijk Bruckman. Since 2012, it has a permanent display of paintings by Bruckman and temporary exhibitions. The museum is an independent foundation that is mainly funded by the municipality of Bellingwedde. From 2013 to 2016, the museum had around 4,700 visitors per year. It is one of the lesser-visited museums in Groningen.
