Barnston, Merseyside

Christ Church is in the village of Barnston, near Heswall, Wirral, Merseyside, England. The church was built in 1870–71, and designed by G. E. Street. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Storeton railway station was located on the northern side of Station Road, between Barnston and Storeton, England.

Heswall railway station is a railway station on the eastern edge of the town of Heswall on the Wirral Peninsula in England. It is on the Borderlands Line. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Transport for Wales. In 2008 the station was refurbished. The station was previously known as Heswall Hills, as there was previously another station serving Heswall, on the Birkenhead Railway's branch line from West Kirby to Hooton, that is now a footpath known as the Wirral Way.

Landican () is a hamlet on the Wirral Peninsula, in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside, England. The hamlet is on the outskirts of Birkenhead, near to Woodchurch and the M53 motorway. Historically part of the county of Cheshire, it is within the local government ward of Pensby and Thingwall and the parliamentary constituency of Wirral West. Landican consists of a small group of cottages and farm buildings as well as a cemetery and crematorium. At the 2001 census the community had a population of only 20.

Thingwall is a village on the Wirral Peninsula, in Merseyside, England. The village is situated approximately 8 km (5.0 mi) to the south west of Birkenhead and 3 km (1.9 mi) north east of Heswall. Historically part of Cheshire, the area is within the Pensby and Thingwall Ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral and the parliamentary constituency of Wirral West. At the 2001 census, Thingwall had 3,140 inhabitants. The 2011 census registered the total ward population at 13,007.

Brimstage (locally ) is a village in the centremost part of the Wirral Peninsula, Merseyside, England. It is approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Heswall and 3 miles (4.8 km) south west of Bebington. Administratively, it is within the Clatterbridge Ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral and is in the parliamentary constituency of Wirral South. At the time of the 2001 census, Brimstage had a population of 100.

Pensby (locally ) is a large village on the Wirral Peninsula, in Merseyside, England. It is located 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the north of the town of Heswall and approximately 0.5 miles (0.80 km) to the south west of Thingwall. Historically within Cheshire, the area is part of the Pensby and Thingwall Ward of the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral and is in the parliamentary constituency of Wirral West. At the 2001 census the village of Pensby had 6,900 inhabitants. The 2011 census measured the population of the Pensby and Thingwall ward at 13,007.

Prenton Brook is a tributary of the River Fender, in Wirral, Merseyside. The brook starts as field drainage east of Thingwall and flows through Barnston Dale. Prenton Brook joins the River Fender at Prenton. The River Fender then joins the Birket at Leasowe. The Birket discharges into the West Float at the site of the former Wallasey Pool, which itself discharges into the River Mersey. Prenton Brook is about 2 miles (3.2 km) long.

The Wirral Peninsula (), known locally as The Wirral, is a peninsula in North West England. The roughly rectangular peninsula is about 15 miles (24 km) long and 7 miles (11 km) wide, and is bounded by the Dee Estuary to the west, the Mersey Estuary to the east, and Liverpool Bay to the north. Historically, the Wirral was wholly in Cheshire; in the Domesday Book, its border with the rest of the county was placed at "two arrow falls from Chester city walls". However, since the Local Government Act 1972, only the southern third has been in Cheshire, with almost all the rest lying in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, Merseyside. An area of saltmarsh and reclaimed land adjoining the south-west of the peninsula lies in the Welsh county of Flintshire.

Heswall is a town on the Wirral, Merseyside, England. At the 2001 Census, the population was 16,012, including the nearby villages of Barnston and Gayton.Before local government reorganisation on 1 April 1974 it was part of the administrative county of Cheshire.

Woodchurch is a proposed railway station situated between Upton and Heswall on the Borderlands Line. According to the Core Strategy for Wirral report, compiled by the local council, Woodchurch railway station is one of the council's long-term objectives. The proposal was also mentioned in Merseytravel's 30-year plan of 2014.The October 2017 Liverpool City Region Combined Authority update to the Long Term Rail Strategy mentions the station as being built between Network Rail Control Periods CP5 and CP7.A new proposal to open a station was raised by Metro Mayor of the Liverpool City Region Steve Rotheram as part of his re-election plans in January 2020.The land for the station has been reserved by the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral's local planning authority, which considers the station to be justified by the size of the catchment population.

The Puddydale is a park and grassy area in Heswall, Wirral, England. It is on Telegraph Road, close to the main shopping area of Heswall. The land was given to the parish in 1859 by the Commissioners of Enclosure. It was previously the site of a lake, drained in 1922, and later became a rubbish tip; since 1932 it has been a playing field. It includes a children's playground. Local football teams use the site.The eastern side of The Puddydale was originally the site of Heswall Primary School from 1909 to 1982, but is now the site of residential flats.
