Fountain Way

The Old Manor Hospital was a psychiatric hospital in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. It was established in the early 19th century as a private licensed house called Fisherton House or Fisherton House Asylum, which became the largest private madhouse in the United Kingdom. In 1924, following a change of proprietors, it was renamed Old Manor Hospital and in 1955 it was amalgamated into the National Health Service. From 1813 to 1955 it was owned and managed by members of the same family. The Old Manor Hospital closed in 2003 and was replaced by Fountain Way, a smaller, modern, psychiatric hospital on part of the same site. In 2014 the site was acquired by Quantum Group for development as a residential estate and the conversion of the main building to a hotel.

Salisbury railway station serves the cathedral city of Salisbury in Wiltshire, England. It is 83 miles 43 chains (134.4 km) from London Waterloo on the West of England line to Exeter St Davids. This is crossed by the Wessex Main Line from Bristol Temple Meads to Southampton Central. The station is operated and served by South Western Railway (SWR), and is also served by Great Western Railway (GWR).

South Wiltshire UTC was a mixed University Technical College (UTC) in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. It opened in 2015 and catered for students aged 14–19 years.The college specialised in science and engineering, and was backed by the University of Southampton. Its site on Wilton Road, about 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the centre of Salisbury, was a refurbished former police headquarters.In July 2019, it was announced the college would not be accepting students in September 2019, and would be closed in August 2020 as the Department for Education deemed it "no longer financially viable". The one-year delay was for the benefit of students already a year into their two-year courses.

The Salisbury rail crash occurred in England on 1 July 1906, when a boat train from Plymouth to London failed to negotiate a sharp bend at more than twice the speed limit and crashed into another train, killing 28 people. It is believed that the driver was trying to demonstrate the speed of the service, in competition with a rival railway company.

Bemerton, once a rural hamlet and later a civil parish to the west of Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, is now a suburb of that city. Modern-day Bemerton has areas known as Bemerton Heath, Bemerton Village and Lower Bemerton.

St Paul's Church, Salisbury, England, is the Church of England parish church for Fisherton Anger, serving part of the northern suburbs of the city. It was consecrated in 1853 and lies north-west of the city centre, near the railway station. The congregation is affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance. The church is a Grade II listed building.

The Salisbury Infirmary was a hospital at Fisherton Street in Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, from 1767 until 1993.

Salisbury Black Friary was a friary in Wiltshire, England, in existence from 1281 to 1538. In 1281, Edward I granted land to the Dominican friars which allowed them to move from the house they had established at Wilton in 1245. The site was at grid reference SU 1416 3004 on the north-west edge of the city, on what is now Fisherton Street, just beyond the bridge over the Avon. The friary received royal support for a time, and was granted building materials from Clarendon Park. The establishment was dissolved in 1538, when the prior and 13 friars surrendered their house to the king's visitor. The property was sold in 1545 and today no visible trace of the buildings remains. In 1978, after redevelopment of the Maltings area uncovered human remains, archaeologists found four burials and some wall foundations. Further test pits in 2019 found four more graves but no traces of buildings, therefore the position of the friary within the site remains unknown.

Arundells is a Grade II* listed house at 59 Cathedral Close, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. Located on the West Walk of the Close, next to the 'Wardrobe' (Rifles Museum), it was the home of Edward Heath, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, from 1985 until his death in 2005. The house and its extensive garden are open to the public five days a week from late March to late October each year.

The Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum is a military museum at The Close in Salisbury, England. It is housed in a Grade II* listed building known as The Wardrobe.
