Froggatt is a village and a civil parish on the A625 road and the River Derwent in the English county of Derbyshire. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 Census was 204. It is near the village of Calver.

The Upper Derwent Valley is an area of the Peak District National Park in England. It largely lies in Derbyshire, but its north eastern area lies in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Its most significant features are the Derwent Dams, Ladybower, Derwent and Howden, which form Ladybower Reservoir, Derwent Reservoir and Howden Reservoir respectively.

Froggatt Edge is a gritstone escarpment in the Dark Peak area of the Peak District National Park, in Derbyshire, England, close to the villages of Froggatt, Calver, Curbar, Baslow and Grindleford. The name Froggatt Edge applies only to the northernmost section of the escarpment; the middle and southernmost sections are called Curbar Edge and Baslow Edge respectively. The escarpment, like many in this area, is easily accessible from Sheffield.

Grindleford is a village and civil parish in the county of Derbyshire, in the East Midlands of England. The population of the civil parish as taken at the 2011 Census was 909. It lies at an altitude of 492 feet (150 m) in the valley of the River Derwent in the Peak District National Park. The 17th-century Grindleford Bridge crosses the river on the western side of the village. On the west side of the valley is the 1,407 feet (429 m) high Sir William Hill, and to the south-east lies the gritstone escarpment of Froggatt Edge. Grindleford became a parish in 1987, merging the parishes of Eyam Woodlands, Stoke, Nether Padley and Upper Padley. The nearest city to Grindleford is Sheffield, the centre of which is about 12 miles (19 km) away. For rail travellers, the Sheffield suburb of Totley is less than four miles away at the other end of the Totley Tunnel, the second-longest rail tunnel in the UK. Grindleford railway station (actually located in Upper Padley, half a mile away from the village) is at the western portal of the rail tunnel, on the scenic Hope Valley Line between Sheffield and Manchester. Grindleford is popular with walkers and climbers due to its proximity to a variety of landscapes, including open moorland, wooded river valleys (including Padley Gorge), several gritstone escarpments, and the broad Hope Valley. Visitors seeking refreshment are well catered for by a number of establishments, including the Sir William Hotel, the Maynard Hotel and Bar, the National Trust Longshaw Estate Visitor Centre, and Grindleford Station Cafe (in the old station house).

Middleton Hall is a restored 17th-century country house at Stoney Middleton, Derbyshire. It is a Grade II listed building.The house was built in the mid-17th century for Robert Ashton (who was High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1665) whose son sold it to Edward Finney (High Sheriff) in 1690. Finney's daughter and, in 1790 his heir, married Joseph Denman MD of Bakewell, on whose death the property passed to his nephew Thomas Denman, who was Lord Chief Justice, 1832–50. see Baron Denman.The house was let out to tenants from 1817 to 1830 but Denman retook possession and altered and extended the house. The Denmans remained in ownership until the fifth Baron sold the estate in 1953. The house stood empty and neglected for almost 25 years. In 1977 it was resold, the 19th-century alterations and additions were largely demolished and the house was restored to its 16th-century appearance.

Stoney Middleton is a village and civil parish in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England. It is in the White Peak area of the Peak District southeast of Eyam and northwest of Calver, on the A623 road at the foot of the limestone valley of Middleton Dale. The population at the 2011 Census was 470.

Dale Brook is a stream in Stoney Middleton in the Derbyshire Peak District. The stream originates in Middleton Dale, where the Jumber Brook south of Eyam passes under the A623 becoming Dale Brook. The brook flows east through Stoney Middleton where it meets the Stoke Brook before joining the River Derwent at Calver.

Burbage Brook is an upper tributary stream of the River Derwent in the Peak District of England.
