Lee Lake, is a reservoir created by the Lee Lake 818-002 Dam across Temescal Creek, in Riverside County, California. It lies at an elevation of 1,122 feet (342 m).

Walker Canyon is a canyon in the Temescal Mountains, in Riverside County, California. It lies divides Alberhill Summit, on the west and the balance of the range to its east. Temescal Creek flows northward through the canyon from where it heads at 33°42′33″N 117°21′43″W in Warm Springs Valley into the upper reach of the Temescal Valley near Alberhill, California. Coming from the Temescal Mountains to the east, Gavilan Wash has its confluence with Walker Canyon near mid way along its length, and Alberhill Canyon has its confluence with Walker Canyon at its mouth. Near Lake Elsinore, California, I-15 passes between Temescal Valley and Warm Springs Valley through Walker Canyon on the east side of Temescal Creek.

Alberhill (formerly, Alberhil) is an unincorporated community in Riverside County, California. Alberhill is located 5.5 miles (8.9 km) northwest of Lake Elsinore. It lies at an elevation of 1234 feet (376 m). Alberhill was named after C.H. Albers and James and George Hill.

Temescal Valley (Temescal, Spanish for "sweat lodge") is a census-designated place in Riverside County, California. Temescal Valley sits at an elevation of 1,138 feet (347 m). The 2010 United States census reported Temescal Valley's population was 22,535.

Alberhill Canyon is an informally named valley and arroyo in the Temescal Mountains of Riverside County, California. It is named for the former mining settlement and populated place of Alberhill that lay opposite the mouth of the arroyo at its confluence with Temescal Creek.The canyon and the arroyo have their source is at 2,260 feet in the Temescal Mountains at 33°46′00″N 117°22′04″W, 3 miles east of Estelle Mountain. The arroyo is ephemeral, to its mouth in the wetter years, during the wet season in Southern California, otherwise being dry for the balance of the year. From its source Alberhill Canyon trends southwest to enter Walker Canyon 0.7 miles north northeast of Alberhill, California. From the canyon mouth it is a wash that runs down a short distance to a drain under the I-15 and to its confluence with Temescal Creek northeast of the old schoolhouse of Alberhill, at an elevation of 1214 feet at 33°43′45″N 117°23′39″W. Prior to the construction of the freeway the Alberhill Canyon arroyo ran into Temescal Creek in the vicinity of the drain, the creek was moved during the freeway construction to the south of the freeway.

Rice Canyon Creek is a tributary creek or arroyo of Temescal Creek in Riverside County, California. Rice Canyon Creek has its source at the head of Rice Canyon at an elevation of 3440 feet in the Santa Ana Mountains at 33°41′54″N 117°24′11″W east of the 4313 foot peak on the north south divide of the range. It is a wash that runs down from the canyon mouth 33°41′07″N 117°27′08″W at 1631 feet to its mouth at its confluence with Temescal Creek near Alberhill, California at an elevation of 1220 feet. Rice Canyon Creek has a tributary, Bishop Canyon Creek which enters the wash on the left a little below the mouth of Rice Canyon at 33°42′05″N 117°24′07″W.Rice Canyon Creek flows in the rainy season in its upper reach but is an ephemeral arroyo in its lower reach below the narrows 0.80 miles above the canyon mouth, and flows on the surface below the narrows only after more heavy rain events, and is dry the rest of the year. Rice Canyon's creek flows during the rainy season below its narrows to its mouth but its surface flow dries up below the narrows about 0.8 miles above its mouth in the canyon during the dry season, and above that in years with severe drought conditions. However some waterholes remain even in the dry years in the upper reach. Much of the wash in modern times has been interrupted by clay mining operations that stops the surface flows of water from Rice Canyon Creek from reaching Temescal Creek.

Cajalco Canyon Creek is an ephemeral stream that flows through Cajalco Canyon in the Temescal Mountains of Riverside County, California, United States. It is a tributary to Temescal Wash, itself a tributary to the Santa Ana River. Cajalco is thought to be a Hispanic spelling of the word for "quail" in the languages of the Luiseño and Cahuilla who lived in the area. The word Cajalco is an acronym- California Jalisco Land Company of Los Angeles

Gavilan Plateau is a plateau in Riverside County, California. It lies at an elevation of 2083 feet on the north slope of the Temescal Mountains overlooking the Cajalco Valley south of Riverside, California.

Rancho Temescal was a farming outpost of Mission San Luis Rey de Francia, one of the 21 Franciscan missions established in California by Spain during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The Mission was located on the coast where Oceanside, California is today. The Rancho was settled in 1819 by Leandro Serrano, and became the first non-native settlement within the boundaries of what would become Riverside County, California. Although Serrano applied for a land grant with Governor José María de Echeandía, during the Mexican administration of California, a grant was never issued. The only supporting evidence of his claim was a paper from the San Luis Rey Mission permitting him to occupy the land for grazing. After Serrano's death in 1852, his wife, Josefa Montalva de Serrano, continued to pursue the claim, now under the administration of the United States, but the claim was ultimately rejected by the US Supreme Court in 1866.The grant claim extended along the Temescal Valley south of present-day Corona and encompassed El Cerrito and Lee Lake. At the time, Rancho Temescal was a part of San Bernardino County. Riverside County was created by the California Legislature in 1893 by taking land from both San Bernardino and San Diego County.

Lake Mathews is a large reservoir in Riverside County, California, located in the Cajalco Canyon in the foothills of the Temescal Mountains. It is the western terminus for the Colorado River Aqueduct that provides much of the water used by the cities and water districts of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. The reservoir is fenced and closed to all public access. The lake is near the Riverside community of Lake Hills, and is skirted by Cajalco Road on the south, El Sobrante Road on the north and east, and La Sierra Avenue on the west. La Sierra Avenue traverses the top of the west dike. The reservoir was constructed by building a large earthfill dam across the northern side of the basin. Two smaller dams, called dikes, were built during the 1961 (1961) expansion to increase the lake's capacity.

Lake Mathews is a census-designated place in Riverside County, California. Lake Mathews sits at an elevation of 1,775 feet (541 m). The 2010 United States census reported Lake Mathews's population was 5,890.

Temescal Valley (Temescal, Spanish for "sweat lodge") in California is a graben rift valley in western Riverside County, California, a part of the Elsinore Trough. The Elsinore Trough is a graben between the Santa Ana Mountain Block to the southwest and the Perris Block on the northeast. It is a complex graben, divided lengthwise into several smaller sections by transverse faults. The Temescal Valley is one of these graben, at the northern end of the trough. The Temescal Valley graben is bounded northeast side by the Lee Lake longitudinal fault and similarly on the southeast by the Glen Ivy Fault.The middle reach of Temescal Creek flows through Temescal Valley from Lee Lake to its confluence with the Santa Ana River. According to the Geographic Names Information System the valley head lies just west of Lee Lake, between the Santa Ana Mountains and the Temescal Mountains to the east, and runs to the vicinity of the confluence of Temescal Creek with Brown Canyon Creek where the mountains closed in to create a narrows.
