Winterbourne United Football Club is a football club based in Winterbourne, near Bristol, England. Affiliated to the Gloucestershire County FA, they are currently members of the Bristol Premier Combination Premier Division.

Yate Academy (formerly King Edmund Community School) is a secondary school located in the town of Yate in South Gloucestershire, on the outskirts of Bristol, England. It was founded in 1953. In 2007, Rob Gibson, the (former) headteacher of The Ridings High School was invited by the DCSF to consider a move to academy status as the Lead (non-financial) sponsor in a hard federation, incorporating King Edmund Community School in Yate. As a result, in September 2009, The Ridings Federation of Academies was established with two independent academies, Winterbourne International Academy (formerly 'The Ridings High School' and the lead sponsor) and Yate International Academy (formerly King Edmund Community School). Gibson became the Chief Executive Principal of the Federation and the Statutory Headteacher of both academies. This changed in 2015 when the academy introduced the new Chief Executive Principal Beverley Martin. In 2017 Yate International Academy left The Ridings’ Federation of Academies and joined the Greenshaw Learning Trust. The school is now known as Yate Academy, with Isabel Ambrose as Principal leading the school from January 2018 until 2020. In September 2021, Natalie Wilcox took over as Headteacher after a year as Associate Head teacher, working alongside Isabel Ambrose. There are approximately 750+ students on roll including 100+ in the schools Sixth Form which is called Cotswold Edge Sixth Form which was introduced in 2015.

Winterbourne Railway Cutting (grid reference ST651799) is a 1.99 hectare geological Site of Special Scientific Interest near the village of Winterbourne, South Gloucestershire, notified in 1990.

Winterbourne railway station served the South Gloucestershire village of Winterbourne, England, from 1903 to 1963.

The Huckford Viaduct spans the River Frome just north of Winterbourne Down in South Gloucestershire, England. It presently forms part of the Badminton line from Bristol Parkway to London Paddington. The viaduct was constructed during 1902 by the Great Western Railway as part of the Wootton Bassett to Patchway railway line. Its construction was driven by the desire to deliver a more direct route for traffic over the somewhat circuitous route that had been previously necessitated. The viaduct has a height of roughly 100 feet above the level of the River Frome, which passes through one of its arches. The Frome Valley Walkway also runs through another of the viaduct's arches.

Watley's End was a small village located in South Gloucestershire, England. It now forms the northern part of Winterbourne. Watley's End Road, which runs through the village, would have been the main road. Watley's End lay sandwiched between the much larger villages of Frampton Cotterell and Winterbourne, eventually becoming part of the latter. The eastern border lay along the River Frome, from Nightingale Bridge down to the Cloisters. The northern border was considered to be Court Road and Frampton Cotterell. Hooper's Farm was considered the western edge. The southern edge of the area started where Park Avenue met North Road and continued east until the Cloisters. The area features Salem Methodist Church and the defunct Ebenezer Methodist Church. There is also a public house called the Mason's Arms on North Road. Factory Road was named for the beaver hat factory built on what is now Beaver Close. There used to be several small shops in the area, one opposite Salem Church and another grocery shop run by Richard Maggs on the corner of Salem and Common Roads. Watley's End is also the scene of Winterbourne's thriving Youth and Gymnastics club, at the Fromeside community centre.

St Michael the Archangel Church or simply St Michael's Church is an Anglican parish church located in Winterbourne, South Gloucestershire, on the northern fringe of Bristol. It was built in the 12th century and has been designated by English Heritage as a grade I listed building. The Church is located to the west of Winterbourne, largely surrounded by fields and woodland, though a number of cottages flank it. Despite its rather isolated location its prominent spire is clearly visible for miles around. Behind the Church's most recent graveyard is the Monks Pool nature reserve and the Bradley Brook. Winterbourne Court, a 14th-century tithe barn, stands immediately adjacent to the Church. In the churchyard's north-west corner is the war grave of a Devonshire Regiment soldier of World War II.St Michael's is part of the Fromeside Partnership, an association between the local ecclesiastical parishes of Coalpit Heath, Frampton Cotterell, Winterbourne and Winterbourne Down.

Winterbourne Down is a village in South Gloucestershire, England, located on the north-eastern outskirts of Bristol. It is also part of the Civil Parish of Winterbourne. It is demarcated by the Avon Ring Road to the south. The Parish's annual May Day carnival is held here. The Frome Valley Walkway passes through the village and provides views of the Huckford Viaduct. The village contains the Anglican, All Saints Church and the Methodist Bethesda chapel. Winterbourne Down is also noted for its extensive wooded areas, quarrying legacy and the remains of a Roman camp.

Kendleshire is a small scattered settlement in South Gloucestershire, England, between Winterbourne Down and Henfield. Kendleshire hamlet includes about a dozen residences, as well as Woodlands Manor Nursing Home and The Golden Heart public house. Very little of The Kendleshire Golf Club lies within the hamlet of Kendleshire village. Only the 16th, 22nd (and parts of the 20th & 21st) holes are included in the settlement, the clubhouse and the rest of the course being in Henfield. During the construction of Kendleshire Golf Club, evidence of many ancient bell pit coal mines was discovered.

Hambrook is a village in South Gloucestershire, England, situated on the north-eastern outskirts of the city of Bristol. It lies between the larger communities of Winterbourne and Frenchay and is part of the Civil Parish of Winterbourne.A small settlement was recorded at Hambrook in the Domesday Book.Today, Hambrook is a commuter village, with the M4 and the Avon Ring Road bisecting it.Hambrook lies at the south-western foot of Winterbourne Hill. The River Frome and its walkway pass along the village's eastern edge and the Bradley Brook converges with the former in Hambrook. The village is flanked by woodland and fields. Hambrook has a common (or village green) which locals refer to as either 'Hambrook' or 'Whiteshill Common' because of its proximity to the hamlet of Whiteshill. The Common is home to the Civil Parish of Winterbourne's war memorial and the village's primary school, with cottages on either side and is sometimes used for cricket matches.Hambrook Court is an 18th-century house. It has been designated as a Grade II listed building.

The A4174 is a major ring road in England which runs around the northern and eastern edge of Bristol, mainly in South Gloucestershire, and through the southern suburbs of the city. When it was first conceived it was planned to circle the whole of Bristol, and is commonly referred to as the "Avon Ring Road", or less accurately the "Bristol Ring Road", on road signs. The road does not circle the whole city, instead covering roughly half of the route. It is broken in part where it is concurrent with the A4.
