Trecate railway station

Trecate is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Novara in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 90 kilometres (56 mi) northeast of Turin and about 9 kilometres (6 mi) east of Novara. It harbors a major refinery complex for fuels and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), serving northern and central Italy, and also the Villafortuna oil field. It is served by Trecate railway station. The Battle of Novara (also known as the battle of Ariotta) was a battle of the War of the League of Cambrai fought on 6 June 1513, near Novara, in Northern Italy. A French attacking force was routed by allied Milanese–Swiss troops. As a consequence, France was forced to withdraw entirely from Italy.

The Visconti-Sforza Castle or Sforza Castle of Galliate is a medieval castle in Galliate, Piedmont, Northern Italy. It was erected in the 15th century by the Sforza, dukes of Milan, on a previous fortification (the Rocchetta) built by their progenitors Visconti.

The Battle of Magenta was fought on 4 June 1859 near the town of Magenta in the Kingdom of Lombardy–Venetia, a crown land of the Austrian Empire, during the Second Italian War of Independence. It resulted in a French-Sardinian victory under Napoleon III against the Austrians under Marshal Ferencz Gyulai. Napoleon III's army crossed the Ticino River and outflanked the Austrian right forcing the Austrian army under Gyulai to retreat. The confined nature of the country, a vast spread of orchards cut up by streams and irrigation canals, precluded elaborate manoeuvre. The Austrians turned every house into a miniature fortress. The brunt of the fighting was borne by 5,000 grenadiers of the French Imperial Guard, still mostly in their First Empire style of uniforms. The battle of Magenta was not a particularly large battle, but it was a decisive victory for the Franco-Sardinian alliance. Patrice de MacMahon was created Duke of Magenta for his role in this battle, and would later go on to serve as President of the French Third Republic.

Cassolnovo (Cassö in lombard) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Pavia in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 30 km southwest of Milan and about 35 km northwest of Pavia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,203 and an area of 32.0 km².Cassolnovo borders the following municipalities: Abbiategrasso, Cerano, Gravellona Lomellina, Sozzago, Terdobbiate, Tornaco, Vigevano.

Palazzo Caroelli is a palace of Garbagna Novarese, in Italy, built from 1640 to 1690 in baroque style. The building shows a constructive and decorative structure that is entirely consistent with the dates shown in the historical sources: 1600, the year to which the first mention of the internal chapel dates back, in its current forms; 1620, the year in which the Caroelli family bought the fiefdom of Garbagna Novarese. The construction site, therefore, dates back to the first decade after the middle of the 18th century; it would have been completed in 1640, or in the years immediately following, that is shortly before or on the occasion of the advent of the Caroelli family.To contribute to a date of the building the construction techniques provided, homogeneous in most of the building, with completely distinctive characteristics of a building site dating back to the two decades following the middle of the century: masonry of scope and spine with the associated categories (even less than the normalized wall sections of the previous centuries or even of the following century, the 19th century), and yet despite the load of the vaults and floors; lowered vaults, also with relatively present load-bearing sections, laws for construction materials (brick, even canned), so as not to burden the walled support materials.

Casate Ticino ("Casá", in the local dialect) is an Italian village in the municipality of Bernate Ticino, near Milan, in Lombardy. As of 2009 its population was of 1,100 circa.
