Battle of Bristoe Station

Davis–Beard House, also known as Glee Hall and Davis House, is a historic home located at Bristow, Prince William County, Virginia. It was built after the American Civil War, and is a two-story, five-bay, frame dwelling with later additions. The rambling dwelling has a number of Late Victorian style decorative elements. It features a one-story wraparound porch, decorated gables, bay windows, and storefront. Also on the property are a contributing brick hip-roofed carriage house and a small lattice-covered frame privy.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Bristow is an unincorporated community of Prince William County in Northern Virginia about 30 miles (48 km) from Washington, D.C. In 2014, Bristow's postal area population was 29,346, a 287% increase since 2000; however, the Bristow community is formally included in the Linton Hall, Virginia census-designated place (CDP). The Manassas Station Operations included the operations known as Bristoe Station, Kettle Run, Bull Run Bridge, or Union Mills. It took place August 25–27, 1862, in Prince William County, Virginia, as part of the Northern Virginia Campaign of the American Civil War. On the evening of August 26, after passing around Union Maj. Gen. John Pope's right flank via Thoroughfare Gap, Confederate Maj. Gen. Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson's wing of the army struck the Orange & Alexandria Railroad at Bristoe Station and before daybreak August 27 marched to capture and destroy the massive Union supply depot at Manassas Junction. This surprise movement forced Pope's Army of Virginia into an abrupt retreat from his defensive line along the Rappahannock River. On August 27, Jackson routed a Union brigade near Union Mills (Bull Run Bridge), inflicting several hundred casualties and mortally wounding Union Brig. Gen. George W. Taylor. Maj. Gen. Richard S. Ewell's Confederate division fought a brisk rearguard action against Maj. Gen. Joseph Hooker's Union division at Kettle Run, resulting in about 600 casualties. Ewell held back Union forces until dark. That night, Jackson marched his divisions north to the Bull Run battlefield, where he took position behind an unfinished railroad grade.

Broad Run is the terminal station for Virginia Railway Express' Manassas Line. It is located at 10637 Piper Lane in the Bristow section of unincorporated Prince William County, Virginia, United States, adjacent to Manassas Regional Airport. It has parking for 885 cars. The station is located on a siding that leads off the 2 track main line. The siding continues to a yard for the Virginia Railway Express. Amtrak's Cardinal, Crescent and Northeast Regional pass next to the station, but do not stop. The station opened in 1992 with the inauguration of the line. On March 17, 2017, the VRE Operations Board voted to expand the Broad Run station instead of an extension to Haymarket. This might include relocating the station, as well as expanding the rail yard and parking facilities. The expansion proposition crumbled after officials said it would cost too much.

Nokesville Truss Bridge is a historic Pratt truss bridge carrying Virginia State Route 646 (Aden Road) across the Norfolk Southern Railway near Nokesville, Prince William County, Virginia. It was built in 1882 by the Keystone Bridge Company. The single-span bridge measures 73 feet 11.5 inches (22.543 m) long, and is constructed of wrought iron.The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Cannon Branch Fort is a historic American Civil War fortification at 10611 Gateway Boulevard in Manassas, Virginia. Details of the exact time and circumstances of its construction are not known; it is believed to have been built by Union Army forces in 1863 or 1864 to defend the nearby railroad lines.The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. It is now a city park.

Innovation is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Prince William County, Virginia, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 926.The CDP is in the central part of the county, bordered to the southeast by the independent city of Manassas. It is bordered to the north by the Bull Run CDP, and to the west by the Linton Hall CDP. Virginia State Route 234 (Prince William Parkway) runs through the center of the community, leading northwest 4 miles (6 km) to Interstate 66 near Gainesville and southeast 18 miles (29 km) to Interstate 95 at Dumfries. State Route 28 runs along the southern edge of the Innovation CDP, leading east into Manassas and southwest 18 miles (29 km) to U.S. Route 17 at Bealeton.

Linton Hall School is a Catholic coeducational day-school occupying a 120‑acre campus in Bristow, Virginia, in Prince William County about 60 km (37 mi) west of Washington, D.C. It is located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arlington.

The school is located at 10504 Kettle Run Road, Nokesville, Virginia. The school opened in September 2011.Originally simply "High School #11," Kettle Run High School was the working name of the new high school in the western portion of Prince William County, Virginia that was completed in September 2011. Referred to in documents of July 2006 as "High School (West)," the property is named for its geographic region, located NW of Nokesville, Virginia. The school property itself is located near the intersection of Schaeffer Lane and Kettle Run Road in a triangle of land south of Vint Hill Road (Route 215) and west of Kettle Run Road. Immediately adjoining the property is the site of an elementary school to be built concurrently. In the January 20 meeting, the school board also announced that this school would be named T. Clay Wood Elementary School .

Nokesville is a Village and census-designated place (CDP) in Prince William County, Virginia, United States and Fauquier County, Virginia, United States. The population was 1,619 in the 2020 census.

Brentsville District High School, commonly known as Brentsville, is a public high school in Nokesville in unincorporated Prince William County, Virginia, United States, and part of Prince William County Public Schools. It is the only high school in Prince William County considered to be in a developing rural community.

Park Gate is a historic home located near Nokesville, Prince William County, Virginia. It was built about 1750, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, three-bay, Tidewater Style frame dwelling. It has a steep gable roof and exterior end chimneys and measures 36 feet by 30 feet. The front facade features a 12 feet deep full width front porch. Colonel Thomas Lee, eldest son of Richard Henry Lee, signer of the Declaration of Independence, resided at Park Gate from about 1790 to 1805.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
