The Battle of Bristoe Station was fought on October 14, 1863, at Bristoe Station, Virginia, between Union forces under Maj. Gen. Gouverneur K. Warren and Confederate forces under Lt. Gen. A. P. Hill during the Bristoe Campaign of the American Civil War. The Union II Corps under Warren was able to surprise and repel the Confederate attack by Hill on the Union rearguard, resulting in a Union victory.

Davis–Beard House, also known as Glee Hall and Davis House, is a historic home located at Bristow, Prince William County, Virginia. It was built after the American Civil War, and is a two-story, five-bay, frame dwelling with later additions. The rambling dwelling has a number of Late Victorian style decorative elements. It features a one-story wraparound porch, decorated gables, bay windows, and storefront. Also on the property are a contributing brick hip-roofed carriage house and a small lattice-covered frame privy.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

In 2014, Bristow's postal area population was 29,346, a 287% increase since 2000; however, the Bristow community is formally included in the Linton Hall, Virginia census-designated place (CDP). Broad Run is the terminal station for Virginia Railway Express' Manassas Line. It is located at 10637 Piper Lane in the Bristow section of unincorporated Prince William County, Virginia, United States, adjacent to Manassas Regional Airport. It has parking for 885 cars. The station is located on a siding that leads off the 2 track main line. The siding continues to a yard for the Virginia Railway Express. Amtrak's Cardinal, Crescent and Northeast Regional pass next to the station, but do not stop. The station opened in 1992 with the inauguration of the line. On March 17, 2017, the VRE Operations Board voted to expand the Broad Run station instead of an extension to Haymarket. This might include relocating the station, as well as expanding the rail yard and parking facilities. The expansion proposition crumbled after officials said it would cost too much.

The Cannon Branch Fort is a historic American Civil War fortification at 10611 Gateway Boulevard in Manassas, Virginia. Details of the exact time and circumstances of its construction are not known; it is believed to have been built by Union Army forces in 1863 or 1864 to defend the nearby railroad lines.The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. It is now a city park.

Nokesville Truss Bridge is a historic Pratt truss bridge carrying Virginia State Route 646 (Aden Road) across the Norfolk Southern Railway near Nokesville, Prince William County, Virginia. It was built in 1882 by the Keystone Bridge Company. The single-span bridge measures 73 feet 11.5 inches (22.543 m) long, and is constructed of wrought iron.The bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Innovation is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Prince William County, Virginia, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 926.The CDP is in the central part of the county, bordered to the southeast by the independent city of Manassas. It is bordered to the north by the Bull Run CDP, and to the west by the Linton Hall CDP. Virginia State Route 234 (Prince William Parkway) runs through the center of the community, leading northwest 4 miles (6 km) to Interstate 66 near Gainesville and southeast 18 miles (29 km) to Interstate 95 at Dumfries. State Route 28 runs along the southern edge of the Innovation CDP, leading east into Manassas and southwest 18 miles (29 km) to U.S. Route 17 at Bealeton.

Referred to in documents of July 2006 as "High School (West)," the property is named for its geographic region, located NW of Nokesville, Virginia. The school property itself is located near the intersection of Schaeffer Lane and Kettle Run Road in a triangle of land south of Vint Hill Road (Route 215) and west of Kettle Run Road. Immediately adjoining the property is the site of an elementary school to be built concurrently. In the January 20 meeting, the school board also announced that this school would be named T. Clay Wood Elementary School .

Linton Hall is a census-designated place (CDP) in Prince William County, Virginia, United States, which includes unincorporated Bristow. The population was 35,725 at the 2010 census, an increase of over 300% from the 2000 census.According to the United States Census Bureau, residents of Linton Hall had an average commute of 46.3 minutes each way between 2005 and 2007, the longest average commute for the period in the nation. The average commute in the United States for the period was 25.1 minutes. The chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors said commutes were especially long for residents during the period studied because the county had not finished building roads to support the new residential areas that had just been built.

Nokesville is a Village and census-designated place (CDP) in Prince William County, Virginia, United States and Fauquier County, Virginia, United States. The population was 1,619 in the 2020 census.

Brentsville District High School, commonly known as Brentsville, is a public high school in Nokesville in unincorporated Prince William County, Virginia, United States, and part of Prince William County Public Schools. It is the only high school in Prince William County considered to be in a developing rural community.
