David Crockett High School is a high school located in Jonesborough, Tennessee. It is one of two high schools in the Washington County School System and serves the southern part of the county. Its "rival" school is Daniel Boone High School, the other high school in Washington County, which serves the northern part of the county.The first graduating class of David Crockett High School was awarded diplomas in 1972. Enrollment as of 2005 was over 1,200 students. Students start from five elementary/middle schools: Jonesborough Elementary and Middle, West View, Lamar, Grandview, and South Central. The school colors are brown (or "buckskin") and old gold. The school's mascot is a Pioneer.The school was named after the celebrated 19th-century American folk hero, frontiersman, soldier and politician, David (Davy) Crockett, who in life shunned the name "Davy" and referred to himself exclusively as "David".

The Jonesborough Historic District is a historic district in Jonesborough, Tennessee, that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Jonesboro Historic District (reflecting the spelling of the town name at the time) in 1969. Staff of the Tennessee Historical Commission surveyed 158 buildings in the town in 1969 and found 72 worth preservation. The district includes Queen Anne, Greek Revival, and Federal styles of architecture among its 72 contributing buildings located in a more than 120-acre (49 ha) area.Some contributing buildings include the Jonesborough United Methodist Church, which was built in 1847 and renovated in 1945 and 1959; the Washington County Courthouse, built in 1913 on the site of the first courthouse of the county; and the Chester Inn, which was built c. 1797.The district is an irregularly shaped area, roughly bounded by College Street on the north, the junction of Main Street and Franklin Avenue on the east, Depot Street on the south, and 3rd Avenue on the west.

The Chester Inn State Historic Site is a former inn on the Great Stage Road at 116 West Main Street in Jonesborough, Tennessee. It was opened in 1797 by Dr. William P. Chester. It was the best hotel in the Tennessee frontier area.Owned by the State of Tennessee, and located in downtown Jonesborough, it is operated by the Heritage Alliance of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, under an agreement with the Tennessee Historical Commission. Visitors can view the restored upstairs, including the late 19th-century period upstairs parlor and dining room, and a former inn room. In the basement level, an exhibit was opened in 2011 to showcase local history.

Telford is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Washington County, Tennessee, located between Jonesborough and Limestone. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 921. The community is part of the Johnson City Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is a component of the Johnson City-Kingsport-Bristol, TN-VA Combined Statistical Area – commonly known as the "Tri-Cities" region. It has one school, Grandview Elementary.

The Henry Hoss House is a historic house in Jonesborough, Tennessee, U.S., though not within the Jonesborough Historic District. It was built in 1859-1860 for Dr Joseph S. Rhea and his wife Lady Kirkpatrick. The home served as a residence as well as a clinic; the front rooms on either side of the foyer were the doctor's waiting room and examining room, and the upstairs bedrooms were probably for their children. It was sold to Henry Hoss in the midst of the American Civil War of 1861-1865. Hoss lived here with his wife, née Anna Maria Sevier (grand daughter of John Sevier), and their children. It remained in the Hoss family until 1980.The house was designed in the Federal architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since December 16, 1982. Jonesborough is an area of Tennessee with more houses (about five) of the Federal style that have stepped gables than any other area of the state. The crow-stepped gabling of the east and west sides makes the Hoss House the only example of a rural Federal style house in Washington County, Tennessee, with stepped gables.

Midway is an unincorporated community and former census-designated place (CDP) in Washington County, Tennessee. The population was 2,491 at the 2000 census; it was not counted at the 2010 census. It is part of the Johnson City Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is a component of the Johnson City-Kingsport-Bristol, TN-VA Combined Statistical Area – commonly known as the "Tri-Cities" region. The community is located on Old State Route 34, a former alignment of US Route 11E between Jonesborough and Johnson City.

Stewart Hill is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Tennessee, United States.

Built in 1821, DeVault Tavern is a two-story brick building in the federal style in Jonesborough, Tennessee with a lower and upper front porch. The porch is of wood construction and has a small pediment. A two-story ell extends to the rear and some enclosure has been made on the side porch of the ell. The brick is Flemish bond and the house rests on a limestone foundation. The windows are original, as are the shutters. Detail under the eaves and around the porch is hand-carved and gives the appearance of a honeycomb; this detail is found in several early houses in Washington County. A log slave cabin remains in the back yard and the original brick spring house is just across the road from the DeVault Tavern. This structure stands on the Great Stage Road between Abingdon, Virginia, and Knoxville, Tennessee. Andrew Jackson stayed at the tavern, as did General John Hunt Morgan of the Confederate Army on the night before his death.
