Southend, London

Bellingham ( BEL-ing-əm) is an area of South East London, England, within the London Borough of Lewisham. It lies south of Catford and north-west of Beckenham, and is part of the Catford postal district (SE6).

The Fellowship and Star is a Grade II listed pub at Randlesdown Road, Bellingham, London SE6 3BT. Built in 1923–24 and designed by the architect F. G. Newnham, the pub opened as The Fellowship Inn. Under that name, it hosted gigs by bands including Fleetwood Mac and John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, and was used as both a gym and a home by boxer Henry Cooper in the run-up to his 1963 fight against Muhammad Ali.In 2018 The Fellowship Inn underwent refurbishment and redevelopment to restore the interior. It reopened in June 2019 as The Fellowship and Star, including a cinema, microbrewery, music rooms and community spaces.The pub is on Campaign for Real Ale's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors.

Bellingham railway station is in the London Borough of Lewisham in south London. It is in Travelcard Zone 3, and the station and all trains are operated by Thameslink. The station buildings lie on Randlesdown Road in Bellingham; the platforms are below street level. The station, which lies on what today is known as the Catford Loop, was opened on 1 July 1892. It is 8 miles 73 chains (14.3 km) measured from London Victoria.

The River Pool is a tributary of the River Ravensbourne. It is 5.1 km (3 miles) in length, and rises with its tributaries between Shirley and West Wickham in the London Borough of Croydon. It then flows northwards through Beckenham in the London Borough of Bromley, and Sydenham in the London Borough of Lewisham, to join the Ravensbourne in Catford. Two of its tributaries are the River Beck and the Chaffinch Brook. For much of its length the river lies in a floodplain. Land on either side is given up to sports grounds and a flood watch is kept continually on it. In New Beckenham, the River Pool Walkway, running north from Lennard Road near the Midland Bank Sports Ground and Cator Park, includes a conservation site and naturalised areas; the route is part of the National Cycle Network. At Sydenham, the section of the river that ran in a culvert under the gas works has been opened up and landscaped. In June 2009, London Mayor Boris Johnson fell into the River Pool whilst promoting volunteering to clean up the waterway.

Sedgehill Academy, previously Sedgehill School, is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form located in Lewisham, London, England. It is part of United Learning.

Bell Green is an area in the London Borough of Lewisham, between Perry Vale and Bellingham. The area was historically known for its gas works and the poverty of the local workers, in what Charles Booth called "the one really poor district in this quarter of London." The gasworks closed in 1968 and the whole area redeveloped; it is best known today for the eponymous retail park.

Lewisham West was a borough constituency in south-east London represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election from 1918, until it was abolished for the 2010 general election.

Beckenham Hill railway station is in the London Borough of Lewisham in south London, very close to the border with Bromley. It is 9 miles 45 chains (15.4 km) measured from London Victoria. It is in Travelcard Zone 4, and the station and all trains are operated by Thameslink. It serves the mainly residential areas of Southend Road and Downham as well as parts of Bellingham.

Lower Sydenham railway station is located on the boundary of the London Borough of Bromley and the London Borough of Lewisham in south-east London. It is 9 miles 2 chains (14.5 km) measured from London Charing Cross. The station serves the localities of Lower Sydenham and Southend. Served and managed by Southeastern, it is on the Hayes Line as part of its Metro routes.

King's Church London is an evangelical church based in Kings Church at Catford in London. It reaches out to communities in South East London and is involved in church planting. It has planted two churches in south east London, Beacon Church in Streatham and Emmanuel Church in Greenwich. It has also sent pastors to plant churches in Chatham and sponsored ChristChurch London. It has also done charitable work around Lewisham such as renting houses to the homeless and holding a feast for homeless people in the community. King's is part of Newfrontiers, an international family of churches and they also run Newfrontiers churches in London. The church is run by Steve Tibbert who aims for the church to have a thousand members. The church is rather successful since it has six services during the day. It has turned into a multisite and has buildings in Downham and Lee.Gavin Peacock, Sir Steve Bullock, Stephen Timms, Jim Dowd, Sybil Phoenix and Terry Virgo are visitors of King's. Sybil Phoenix is a recurring member.

The County Ground, Beckenham is a cricket ground in Beckenham in the London Borough of Bromley. The ground is owned by Leander Sports and Leisure and is used as an outground by Kent County Cricket Club for First XI fixtures, as well as for other matches. As of 2019 the Kent Women cricket team played the majority of their matches at the ground. The ground, which is on a 9.6 hectares (24 acres) site, was first used for first-class cricket in 1954. It hosted two matches during the 1993 Women's Cricket World Cup and has been used by Kent as a regular outground since 2003. The ground was redeveloped in 2001–02 and in 2014 and facilities include a 13 pitch square, a 2,048-seater stand, an indoor cricket school and 3G football pitches.

Private Banks Sports Ground is a 20 acres (8.1 ha) cricket and multi-use sports ground in Catford Bridge in the London Borough of Lewisham. The ground, which was in the historic county of Kent until 1889, was used as a first-class cricket venue by Kent County Cricket Club between 1875 and 1921. In 2012, the ground was sold to the Educational Foundation of nearby independent school St Dunstan's College and renamed the Jubilee Ground. The ground is 250 metres (0.16 mi) southwest of Catford town centre. The A205 South Circular road runs along the northern edge of the ground. Catford Bridge railway station is adjacent to the ground and Catford railway station is close by. The Mid-Kent railway line runs down the western side of the ground, with the Catford Loop Line along the southwestern edge.
