Mengler Hill

Vine Vale is a locality in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia. The Rocky Valley Congregational Church was built from wattle and daub at Vine Vale around 1865 and replaced by a stone building in 1894. It closed in 1952. The locality still has an active tennis club.

BBBfm, branded as BBBfm, is a community radio station in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. Its studios are located in the Gladys Reusch Community Centre, and its transmitter on Kaiser Stuhl broadcasts the station to the Barossa Valley and surrounds, with its signal audible as far south as Adelaide. It broadcasts on a frequency of 89.1 MHz, although it launched on 91.9 and then moved to 101.5: both moves were to prevent interference with nearby broadcasters (ABRS and 5UV respectively).

Bethany (postcode 5352) is a small village about 2 km south-east of Tanunda in the Barossa Valley. It was originally named Bethanien or sometimes Neu Schlesien – New Silesia, but was changed during the First World War in an attempt to remove all German place names from Australia. Similarly, the German-language school was forced to close by the state government in 1917, with 60 students at the time.Bethany was the first German settlement in the Barossa Valley area. It was settled in 1842, by Prussian immigrants who had leased land from George Fife Angas. The large portion of these initial settlers arrived in 1841, with Pastor Gotthard Fritzsche on the Skjold.

Angaston Power Station is a diesel-powered electricity generator in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia near the town of Angaston. It is owned and operated by Snowy Hydro since 2014. It consists of 30 diesel reciprocating engines generating up to 50 MW of electricity to meet peak demands in the National Electricity Market.The power station was designed and built by Cummins Power Generation under contract from Infratil in 2005. At the time, it was Australia's largest and lowest-emission diesel power station. It achieves the low emissions through selective catalytic reduction technology, spraying urea into the exhaust.Snowy Hydro bought assets from Infratil in 2014. These included Lumo Energy, Direct Connect and three diesel peaking generators for a total of 136 MW. The other two were Lonsdale Power Station and Port Stanvac Power Station.

Krondorf is a locality in the Barossa Valley in South Australia. The name of the village is derived from the German for Crown's village.Prior to 1918, the name of the locality may have been Kronsdorf. In 1918, it was changed to Kabminye (an Australian Aboriginal word for stars) when many Australian placenames were changed to sound less German. An alternate name that was proposed instead of Kabminye was Blennerhassett, in honour of Lady Galway, wife of the Governor of South Australia and daughter of Sir Roland Blennerhassett. It was changed back to Krondorf in 1975.Krondorf (or Kronsdorf) was first settled in 1847 by Germans from nearby Bethany. The Zum Kripplein Christi Lutheran church was built in 1864 and closed in 1955. The church has been renovated by the owners of Charles Melton Wines, a local winery, to provide bed-and-breakfast accommodation.

The Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park is a protected area located in the Australian state of South Australia in the suburb of Flaxman Valley about 80 kilometres (50 mi) north-east of the state capital of Adelaide and about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) south-east of the town of Tanunda.The conservation park consists of land in sections 531, 623, 730, 732, 733, 736, 737, 844, 859, 860, 861 and 862 in the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Moorooroo and which is an area bounded in the east by a sealed road, Tanunda Creek Road. The Heysen Trail, the long distance walking trail, passes along the west side of the conservation park.It was proclaimed under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 on 3 May 1979 for the above-mentioned parcels of land with exception to sections 859, 860, 861 and 862 which were added by proclamation on 3 December 1987. It is named after a hill called Kaiserstuhl which is located to its immediate west in the suburb of Pewsey Vale. As of 2016, it covered an area of 4.35 square kilometres (1.68 sq mi).The conservation park is classified as an IUCN Category III protected area. In 1980, it was listed on the now-defunct Register of the National Estate.

Turkey Flat is an Australian winery located in Tanunda, in the middle of South Australia's Barossa Valley wine-growing region. It is described by wine expert Oz Clarke as one of the "cult wines" of Australia. With more than 40% of its production dedicated to rosés, Turkey Flat has been considered a leader in the recent "rosé revival" trend of the early 21st century.The history of Turkey Flat wines began in 1847 when Johann Frederick August Fiedler planted Shiraz vines near Bethany Creek. The vines planted in 1847 are some of the oldest vines used for commercial wine production today and believed to be the world's oldest vines that have been authenticated. However, another Barossa winery, Langmeil, and one in the Goulburn Valley wine region, Tahbilk, also claim to have vines just as old, or even older than Turkey Flat.
