Mountain Township is an inactive township in McDonald County, in the U.S. state of Missouri.Mountain Township was so named on account of its uneven terrain.

The Shady Grove School is a historic school building on Arkansas Highway 94 near Pea Ridge, Arkansas. It is a single-story wood-frame structure, with a hip roof and a concrete foundation. A gable-roofed cupola provides ventilation to the roof, which is also pierced by a brick chimney. The main facade consists of a double door flanked by sash windows, and the long sides of the building have banks of sash windows. Built c. 1922, the building is a well-preserved representative of a period school building.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Pea Ridge Commercial Historic District encompasses the historic commercial center of Pea Ridge, Arkansas. It includes twelve buildings on Pickens Street between Greene and Davis Streets, and another seven on Curtis Street between Pike and Macintosh Streets. Of these nineteen commercial and civic buildings, thirteen are historically significant. Most of these are typical commercial buildings built between 1910 and 1930, although several date to the 1950s. Some businesses, such as Webb's Feed Store, have been in business since the early period of development, in their original premises. The town grew as an agricultural center serving first local apple growers, and then tomato growers after blight destroyed many apple orchards.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Greasy Creek is a stream in southwest Barry County in the Ozarks of southwest Missouri. It is a tributary of Big Sugar Creek. The stream headwaters are at 36°35′55″N 93°58′30″W and the confluence with Big Sugar Creek is at 36°30′45″N 94°02′48″W. The stream source is just to the northwest of Washburn. The stream flows to the southwest passing under Missouri Route 90 and flowing parallel to county roads 1045, 1037 and 2290 to join Big Sugar Creek in the southwest corner of Barry County.Greasy Creek was named for the greasy quality of its water.

Pea Ridge is a city in Benton County, Arkansas, United States. The name Pea Ridge is derived from a combination of the physical location of the original settlement of the town, across the crest of an Ozark Mountains ridge, and for the hog peanuts or turkey peas that had been originally cultivated by Native American tribes centuries before European settlement, which later helped to provide basic subsistence once those pioneer settlers arrived. The rural town is best known as the location of the pivotal American Civil War engagement the Battle of Pea Ridge, or, as it is locally known, the Battle of Elkhorn Tavern, which took place approximately 5 miles (8 km) east of the town. The site of the battle is preserved as the Pea Ridge National Military Park. The town's downtown business district is on the National Register of Historic Places and largely comprises commercial structures from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The population of Pea Ridge was 6,559 as of the 2020 census. It is part of the Northwest Arkansas region. The local weekly newspaper is the Times of Northeast Benton County.

The Miller Homestead is a historic house on Benton County Route 64 (Lee Town Road) in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. It is a 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, with the asymmetrical massing and wraparound porch characteristic of Late Victorian houses. It was built c. 1907, and is a relatively sophisticated architectural expression for its rural setting. The property also includes a c. 1890 stone smokehouse.The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

The Battle of Pea Ridge (March 7–8, 1862), also known as the Battle of Elkhorn Tavern, took place during the American Civil War near Leetown, northeast of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Federal forces, led by Brig. Gen. Samuel R. Curtis, moved south from central Missouri, driving Confederate forces into northwestern Arkansas. Maj. Gen. Earl Van Dorn had launched a Confederate counteroffensive, hoping to recapture northern Arkansas and Missouri. Confederate forces met at Bentonville and became the most substantial Rebel force, by way of guns and men, to assemble in the Trans-Mississippi. Against odds Curtis held off the Confederate attack on the first day and drove Van Dorn's force off the battlefield on the second. By defeating the Confederates, the Union forces established Federal control of most of Missouri and northern Arkansas.

Pea Ridge National Military Park is a United States National Military Park located in northwest Arkansas near the Missouri border. The park protects the site of the Battle of Pea Ridge, fought March 7 and 8, 1862. The battle was a victory for the Union and helped it gain control of the crucial border state of Missouri.
