Arnold Hill Spencer Academy (formally Arnold Hill Academy) is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in the county of Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands. It teaches children from 11 to 18 - Years 7-13. It is located in Arnold but it serves children from various nearby areas including Killisick, Daybrook, Woodthorpe, Mapperley, Carlton, Sherwood. It is split into 4 buildings ("A-Block" (previously Upper School), "B-Block" (previously Lower School), "6th Form Centre", and "Ramsey House" (previously Nurture Centre) and has around 1600 pupils and over 100 teachers.

Mapperley is a residential and commercial area of north-eastern Nottingham, England. The area is bounded by Sherwood to the north-west, Thorneywood to the south and Gedling to the east.

Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy (formerly Christ The King School) is a mixed Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form located in Arnold, a town in the English ceremonial county of Nottinghamshire. It is one of three Catholic secondary schools in the Greater Nottingham area, along with The Becket School and Trinity School. It was opened in 1972 Previously a voluntary aided school administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire County Council, Christ The King School was converted to with academy status on 1 October 2012 and was renamed Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy, becoming part of the Pax Christi Multi-Academy Trust. This was later merged into the Our Lady of Lourdes Multi-Academy Trust. Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy offers GCSEs, BTECs and Cambridge Nationals as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A Levels and further BTECs.In 2012 the school undertook a large redevelopment of one building. In 2012, the lower building include Technology and Computer Rooms) was redecorated, and a lift was installed. In 2015 the school built a new Physical Education area, and the old PE area was converted into offices. In 2016, a new extension to the sixth form centre at Christ the King was constructed with study space for students with computer access. In December 2019 principal Carlo Cuomo had handed his notice in with 10 years service to the school as principal and moved onto the next chapter of his teaching career as principal at All Saints CVA in Mansfield. With his departure vice principal Joanne Love took the school as acting head until a replacement but in January 2020 she was announced as the new principal.

Arnold was an urban district in the English ceremonial county of Nottinghamshire from 1894 to 1974. It was created under the Local Government Act 1894. The district was abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972 and combined with Carlton Urban District and part of Basford Rural District to form the new Gedling district.

Killisick is an area of the market town of Arnold in the ceremonial county of Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands of England. It also used to be a local government ward area of Gedling borough until 2015. The population of the ward as it stood at the 2011 census was 2,595. The area is currently contained within the newly created Coppice ward. The area is mostly residential, and contains a few shops and a John Lewis & Partners depot. It borders with Mapperley, Arnold town centre and Woodthorpe. As a ward, Killisick shared borders with the wards known as: Mapperley Plains; Lambley; Woodborough; St. Mary's; Calverton; and Kingswell.

The Carlton Academy is a secondary school in Nottinghamshire, previously known as The Wheldon School and Sports Academy. The school is sponsored by the Redhill Academy Trust, and was judged as being a good school by OFSTED in 2013. This was confirmed in 2017.The Academy has 800 students across years 7 to 11 and a sixth form of 100 students. In September 2014, students from the local Sherwood E-Act Academy which was to close, were moved to the academy. Students in Years 7 and 8 at Sherwood would not have been able to continue their education there and were integrated into Carlton.

St Ann's Well railway station was a station serving the suburb of St Ann's in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. It was located on the Great Northern Railway Nottingham Suburban Railway. The station was opened in 1889, only to be closed to regular passenger traffic on 1 July 1916 and completely to through traffic in 1951 Former Services

Woodthorpe is part of the Borough of Gedling and lies next to the city boundary. It is next to the areas of Mapperley, Daybrook, Sherwood and the main Arnold area. Woodthorpe is characterized by a variety of different buildings from differentiate eras. It includes three schools, is home to two day nurseries and has two play/grassy parks. Shops are limited and most residents travel to nearby areas of Mapperley, Daybrook or Sherwood for local shopping.

Arnold () is a market town and unparished area in the Borough of Gedling in the ceremonial county of Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands of England. It is situated to the north-east of Nottingham's city boundary. Arnold has the largest town centre in the Borough of Gedling and the most important town centre in the northeastern part of the conurbation of Greater Nottingham. Gedling Borough Council is headquartered in Arnold. Since 1968 Arnold has had a market, and the town used to have numerous factories associated with the hosiery industry. Nottinghamshire Police have been headquartered in Arnold since 1979.
