Minowabashi Station (三ノ輪橋停留場, Minowabashi-teiryūjō) is a station on the Tokyo Sakura Tram. This is the terminus of the line. It is close to Minowa Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.

Jōkan-ji (浄閑寺) is a Buddhist temple in Tokyo, Japan. Its cemetery houses the remains and spirits of about 25,000 prostitutes and fire victims of the Yoshiwara quarter of the Edo period. A memorial to the dead was consecrated in the Meiji era.The temple was opened on 1655. The dead bodies of prostitutes of the Yoshiwara quarter who were too poor, which was the vast majority of them, were tucked into a hay mat and brought to the back entrance of the temple and left there. This is frequently and incorrectly claimed as the reason that the temple became popularly known as Nage-komi-dera (Throw-away temple). However, the actual reason for the name is due to the mass burial of about 500 prostitutes after Great Ansei earthquake in 1855 which was done in haste to prevent disease. Additionally, the use of hay mat and abandonment were limited to those who committed crimes and/or broke rules of brothels prior to death.

Minowa Station (三ノ輪駅, Minowa-eki) is a subway station in Taitō, Tokyo, Japan, operated by Tokyo Metro. It is close to Minowabashi Station on the Tokyo Sakura Tram.

Arakawa-itchumae Station (荒川一中前停留場, Arakawa-itchūmae-teiryūjō) is a tram station operated by Toei's Tokyo Sakura Tram located in Arakawa, Tokyo Japan. It is 0.3 kilometres from the terminus of the Tokyo Sakura Tram at Minowabashi Station.

Tokyo Stadium (東京スタジアム) was a baseball stadium in Arakawa, Tokyo, Japan. It was the home of the Lotte Orions until they moved to Miyagi Baseball Stadium in Sendai in 1972. The stadium was opened in 1962 and had a capacity of 35,000 people.

Arakawa-kuyakushomae Station (荒川区役所前停留場, Arakawa-kuyakushomae-teiryūjō) is a tram station operated by Toei's Tokyo Sakura Tram located in Arakawa, Tokyo Japan. It is 0.6 kilometres from the terminus of the Tokyo Sakura Tram at Minowabashi Station.

The Kozukappara execution grounds (小塚原刑場, Kozukappara keijō) were one of the three sites in the vicinity of Edo (the forerunner of present-day Tokyo, Japan) where the Tokugawa shogunate executed criminals in the Edo period. Alternate romanized spellings are Kozukahara and Kotsukappara. The site is located in modern Minami Senju, Arakawa, Tokyo, a three-minute walk away from Minami-Senju Station. Located next to Enmeiji Temple, a large part of the grounds are now covered by railway tracks. It is estimated that between 100,000 and 200,000 people were executed here. Those executed include Hashimoto Sanai and Yoshida Shōin, who were executed as a result of the Ansei Purge. Sugita Genpaku, Nakagawa Jun'an, Katsuragawa Hoshū and their colleagues studied anatomy by conducting dissections at Kozukappara. Kozukappara began operation in 1651, and continued until the Meiji period. Executions were stopped in an attempt to convince Western powers to end the unequal treaties with Japan.

Minami-Senju Station (南千住駅, Minami-Senju-eki, "South Senju Station") is a railway station in Arakawa, Tokyo, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East), Tokyo Metro, and the Metropolitan Intercity Railway Company. The stations for each of these lines are located in separate buildings, necessitating crossing a road to reach each station's ticket exchange.

As of May 1, 2015, the ward has an estimated population of 208,763, and a population density of about 20,550 persons per km². The total area is 10.16 km².
