The Utrecht University Botanic Gardens have consisted of two locations since 1987: the main Botanical Garden Fort Hoofddijk (52.0883°N 5.1725°E / 52.0883; 5.1725 (Fort Hoofddijk Botanical Garden)) in Uithof, Utrecht, and the Von Gimborn Arboretum (52.0325°N 5.3093°E / 52.0325; 5.3093 (Von Gimborn Arboretum)) in nearby Doorn. Both locations are open to the public.

The Catholic University of Utrecht or Catholic Theological University was a Roman Catholic pontifical university in Utrecht, Netherlands. The university was a public institution and was primarily focused on educating future Catholic priests. In 2006 the university merged into the larger University of Tilburg.

The Bijvoet Centre for Biomolecular Research is a research institute at Utrecht University. The Bijvoet Centre performs research on the relation between the structure and function of biomolecules, including proteins and lipids, which play a role in biological processes such as regulation, interaction and recognition. The Bijvoet Centre houses advanced infrastructures for the analysis of proteins and other biomolecules using NMR, X-ray crystallography, electron microscopy and mass spectrometry. The institute is named after famous Dutch chemist Johannes Martin Bijvoet, who worked at Utrecht University.

The Freudenthal Institute (FI) is a research institute, part of the Faculty of Science of Utrecht University in the Netherlands. The FI aims to improve education in science and mathematics by means of education research and valorisation.The institute was founded in 1971 by the German/Dutch writer, pedagogue and mathematician, professor Hans Freudenthal (1905–1990), as the Institute for the Development of Mathematical Education. In 1991, the institute was renamed after its founder.Since 2003, an international institute for mathematics education, Freudenthal Institute - USA (Fi-US) was established in collaboration with the Wisconsin University in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Since January 2006 Fi-US has been reallocated to the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU; Dutch: Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht) is the main hospital of the city of Utrecht, Netherlands. It is affiliated with the Utrecht University. Since the foundation of the university in 1636 an academic hospital has existed in various forms. Nowadays the UMC Utrecht comprises the academic hospital, the faculty of Medicine as well as the Wilhelmina Children's hospital. In total approximately 10,000 people work at the UMCU including medical staff, nursing staff, residents, support personnel and researchers, making it one of the largest hospitals in the Netherlands.

The Royal Dutch Meteorological Institute (Dutch: Koninklijk Nederlands Meteorologisch Instituut, pronounced [ˈkoːnɪŋklək ˈneːdərlɑnts ˌmeːteːoːroːˈloːɣis ˌɪnstiˈtyt]; KNMI) is the Dutch national weather forecasting service, which has its headquarters in De Bilt, in the province of Utrecht, central Netherlands. The primary tasks of KNMI are weather forecasting, monitoring of climate changes and monitoring seismic activity. KNMI is also the national research and information centre for climate, climate change and seismology.

Rhijnauwen is a castle, former heerlijkheid (fiefdom), and former municipality in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It was located northwest of the village of Bunnik. The municipality existed from 1818 to 1857, when it was merged with Bunnik. It consisted of the former heerlijkheden Amelisweerd and Rhijnauwen. Around 1850, it had 50 inhabitants. The name is still used to denote the small forest that separates Bunnik and Utrecht. The name is probably derived from Rhijnauwen Auen, an old word for the wet meadows along the Rhine. The estate is probably from the 13th century. The first mention of the manor Rhijnauwen dates back to 1212. The House was in the first half of the 14th century it belonged to the genus of Lichtenberg. This family was one of the most powerful families of Utrecht and had also Lichtenberg House, which was located in a place now part of the town hall in Utrecht. Rhijnauwen was officially recognized in 1536 as a manor. After the marriage of John IV of Lichtenberg Aleid Renesse came from the farmhouse in the hands of the family Van Zeeland Renesse. In 1449, the brothers Frederick and John Renesse Rudolf after the victory of Deep Holt Zweder banned from Culemborg, and in 1450 the house was on fire Rhijnauwen commissioned by the city of Utrecht. After the house has exchanged owners several times. The last private owner of the house was the family Rhijnauwen Strick van Linschoten Rhijnauwen bought in 1773. In 1919 the estate was bought by the city of Utrecht. The then owner, the Dowager Strick van Linschoten should stay there until the end of her life. On April 1, 1933 was leased to the hostel Rhijnauwen Foundation, which gave the building its current destination.

Utrecht (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈytrɛxt] (listen)), officially the Province of Utrecht (Dutch: Provincie Utrecht), is a province of the Netherlands. It is located in the centre of the country, bordering the Eemmeer in the north-east, the province of Gelderland in the east and south-east, the province of South Holland in the west and south-west and the province of North Holland in the north-west and north. The province of Utrecht has a population of 1,353,596 as of November 2019. It has a land area of approximately 1,485 square kilometres (573 sq mi). Apart from its eponymous capital, major cities in the province are Amersfoort, Houten, Nieuwegein, Veenendaal, IJsselstein and Zeist. The busiest railway station in the Netherlands, Utrecht Centraal, is located in the province of Utrecht.

Sportpark Maarschalkerweerd is a cricket ground in Utrecht, Netherlands. The first recorded cricket match on the ground came in 1967 when the Netherlands Women's Cricket Board XI played the Women's Cricket Association. The ground is also used by Kampong Cricket Club.The ground is somewhat a de facto home ground for the Netherlands Women's team, having played host to numerous Dutch women's teams since 1967. It held two Women's One Day Internationals in 2002 between the Netherlands Women and New Zealand Women. Further matches in that format were held, with South Africa Women visiting in 2007, West Indies Women playing two matches there in 2008, and Ireland Women visiting in 2011. Five Women's Twenty20 Internationals have also been played there between 2008 and 2011.The men's national team played a first-class match there in the 2005 Intercontinental Cup against Scotland. In July 2018, it hosted ten matches of the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament. In May 2019, it hosted men's Twenty20 International matches between Germany and Italy. The first men's One Day International (ODI) match took place at the venue on 2 June 2021, when the Netherlands played Ireland.

University College Utrecht (UCU) provides English-language Liberal Arts and Sciences undergraduate education. Founded in 1998, as the first university college in the Netherlands, it is part of Utrecht University. Around 750 students of 70 different nationalities live and study on campus. Students can design their individual curriculum with courses in one of the three departments: Science, Social Sciences and Humanities. All students follow a three-year bachelor programme. They graduate with a degree from Utrecht University, either a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts.

The Rietveld Schröder House (Dutch: Rietveld Schröderhuis) (also known as the Schröder House) in Utrecht (Prins Hendriklaan 50) was built in 1924 by Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld for Mrs. Truus Schröder-Schräder and her three children. She commissioned the house to be designed preferably without walls. Both Rietveld and Schröder espoused progressive ideals that included "a fierce commitment to a new openness about relationships within their own families and to truth in their emotional lives. Bourgeois notions of respectability and propriety, with their emphasis on discipline, hierarchy, and containment would be eliminated through architectural design that countered each of these aspects in a conscious and systematic way." Rietveld worked side by side with Schröder-Schräder to create the house. He sketched the first possible design for the building; Schröder-Schrader was not pleased. She envisioned a house that was free from association and could create a connection between the inside and outside. The house is one of the best known examples of De Stijl-architecture and arguably the only true De Stijl building. Mrs. Schröder lived in the house until her death in 1985. The house was restored by Bertus Mulder and now is a museum open for visits, run by the Centraal Museum. It is a listed monument since 1976 and UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000.

Voordorp is a district in the North East of the city of Utrecht, the Netherlands. It has a population of approximately 3,000 citizens.
