Austral Building

Fifteen restaurant and its associated charity was a concept originally created by British chef Jamie Oliver in London in 2002 when he realised he could use his skills and energy to offer disadvantaged and marginalised young people with tough backgrounds an opportunity to train to be chefs. Oliver founded the original Fifteen restaurant in London and put young people at its heart. Since 2002 two further restaurants opened in Amsterdam and Cornwall. Melbourne, Australia was the fourth restaurant in the Fifteen 'family'.

The CRA Building (also known as CRA House, Consolidated Zinc Building and Comalco House), located at 89 - 101 Collins Street (aka 95 Collins Street), was a curtain-walled office building in the international style, designed by Bernard Evans and Partners for Conzinc Riotinto of Australia. It was the tallest building in Melbourne at the time, a mantle it held until 1969 when it was surpassed by AMP Square in the western end of the city. When it was demolished in 1988 it was the youngest major building and the first skyscraper to be demolished in the city.The CRA was first truly high-rise office building to be built within the Hoddle Grid; at 26 floors, it was 10 storeys taller than the other new office towers within the CBD, and as the first tower on top of the Collins Street hill in the eastern half of the city it was a very prominent in distant views. As an International style skyscraper it was built as an almost free standing building, with plaza/garden setback to the street, which was beset by strong winds due to the downdraft formed by the sheer face of the building catching strong northerlies. With its vertical ribbing emphasising its vertical proportions, and the setback interrupting the highly valued historic streetscape of the 'Paris End' of Collins Street, by the 1970s it was seen to be out of place, and it was not missed when it was demolished in 1988. It made way for the 57 storey 101 Collins Street development, completed in March 1991, designed by Denton Corker Marshall.

Melbourne Mansions was a five-storey plus semi-basement apartment building located in Collins Street in Melbourne, Australia. Constructed in 1906, it was the first purpose-built residential apartment block in the city. Designed in the Federation Free Style by the architectural partnership of Walter Butler and George Inskip for newspaper proprietor David Syme, its facade featured prominent arched bays with inset raised first floor and balconies behind, with contrasting central and side bays of oriel windows, a top level of bow window and balconies, and a tall parapet. The basement and ground levels had medical rooms, while the floors above housed 25 apartments. Three types of apartments were originally available, including large suites with a kitchen and servants rooms, large and smaller ones with meals centrally supplied by service elevators, and others who relied on the ground level dining room.The building was sold in 1949, and demolished in 1958 by Whelan the Wrecker, making way for the 26-storey CRA Building.

St Michael's Uniting Church is a church in Collins Street in central Melbourne, Australia. Originally the Collins Street Independent Church, a Congregational Union of Australia Church, and later Collins Street Uniting Church, St Michael's has become well known as a centre of liberal theology and political radicalism under its recent Executive Minister Dr Francis Macnab (1971-2016).

120 Collins Street is a 265 m (869 ft) skyscraper in Collins Street, Melbourne central business district, Victoria, Australia. It was built from 1989 to 1991 and it comprises 50 levels of office accommodation and four levels of plant. The building was designed by architectural firm Hassell, in association with Daryl Jackson. Structural engineers were Connell Wagner, and mechanical, electrical and fire services engineers were Lincolne Scott. 120 Collins Street is a postmodern style building, paying homage to New York City's grand Art Deco buildings, such as the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. This influence can be seen in the building's granite façade, its setbacks and its central mast.The building is home to a number of high-profile tenants including Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bain, BlackRock, Rothschild, Knight Frank, Qualitas, Standard & Poor's, BlueScope, Urbis, Mitsubishi, Rio Tinto Group, Ord Minnet, System Partners, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and Korn Ferry.When completed in August 1991, the building had a roof height of 220 m (720 ft) with a 45 m (148 ft) spire, bringing the total height to 265 m (869 ft). It was the tallest building in Australia for 14 years until it was surpassed by the Q1 in 2005. It remained the tallest building in Melbourne until being surpassed by the residential Eureka Tower in 2006. It is currently the sixth tallest building in Australia.

The Scots' Church is a Presbyterian church in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was the first Presbyterian church to be built in the Port Phillip District (now the state of Victoria) and is located on Collins Street. It is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Australia and has been described as "an icon for well over a hundred years".

101 Collins Street is a 260 m (850 ft) skyscraper located in Collins Street, Melbourne central business district, Victoria, Australia. The 57-storey building designed by Denton Corker Marshall was completed in March 1991. Towards the end of project, with a change of developer, the foyer space was designed by Johnson Burgee.The tower is currently the 7th tallest building in Australia when measured up to the tallest architectural point which is the 60 m (200 ft)-tall spire.The tower contains 83,000 m2 (890,000 sq ft) of rentable space. The floor-to-ceiling height is unusually large for a skyscraper at 2.77 m (9 ft 1 in). The 30 m (98 ft) lifts can reach speeds of 7 m/s (23 ft/s). There are 414 underground car park spaces. The building contains double glazed windows with surface coated tempered glass to increase thermal efficiency. The CRA Building was demolished for the construction of this building.The owners of 101 Collins have had a long term policy of buying up surrounding properties in order to protect their views, especially to the south, with an unintended consequence being that older buildings in Flinders Lane now house hip restaurants and bars.101 Collins Street lends it name to a Yarra Trams stop that is served by routes 11, 12, 48 and 109.

AC/DC Lane is a laneway in the central business district of Melbourne, Australia. A short and narrow street running off Flinders Lane, it runs roughly north–south in between Exhibition Street and Russell Street. The lane is named as a tribute to the famous Australian hard rock band AC/DC.

The Cherry Bar is a Melbourne city bar founded in December 1999 by former Cosmic Psychos drummer Bill Walsh. Located on ACDC Lane (off Flinders Lane between Russell St and Exhibition St), the bar replaced existing artists studios in the building to make a rock music venue that has become a popular concert after-party venue for touring bands and their crews. Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher was so taken with the bar during the band's 2002 Australian tour, he made an offer to purchase it. Other high-profile international visitors included Mick Jagger, Johnny Marr (from The Smiths) and Lady Gaga. In the early 2000s punters were brought to Cherry through its Deep Funk nights on Wednesdays with John Idem, hiphop Thursdays, and the consistent rock n' roll weekend nights. Thursday nights was Soul night, while rock from all genres and eras was played on weekends by founder Bill Walsh, Max Crawdaddy, Rock DJ Paul Miles, and Little Scotty. Later, the DJ roster included rock DJs Mary M, Dom, Kez, DJ Mermaid and Leaping Larry L, with radio PBS announcers Vince Peach and Pierre Baroni helming Thursday night's Soul In The Basement. Local promoter and former radio and television presenter James Young has been managing Cherry with a consortium since 2006. Although inaccurately reported by Melbourne's Herald Sun that the building was destroyed by fire on 5 June 2008, it was in fact the offices located in the floors above which burned, whereas the Cherry bar, being located in the basement of the building, suffered only water damage. The bar was expected to reopen following two weeks cleaning and restoration of the electricals damaged by the water used in the fire-fighting effort but building complications delayed the re-opening until New Year's Eve. As regulars of Cherry, rock band Airbourne reference the bar in the lyrics of their song Fat City: "Midnight bite at the Cherry, so sweet is the juice." Melbourne-band Jet also drew upon their many long nights spent at the bar as an influence for their song Rollover DJ, after an inebriated band member was rebuked for spilling his drink over the in-house DJ's records. In 2018 indie rockers Glomesh released the track Crawlin' Up AC/DC Lane. The filmclip for Kylie Auldist's track Sensational was filmed at Cherry, as were scenes from the big-budget 2002 vampire flick Queen Of The Damned, featuring locals among the extras. In 2019 Cherry's management announced that they would be relocating to the former location of late-night venue Pony (AKA Boney), 68 Little Collins St, Melbourne.

Nauru House (also called 80 Collins Street) is a landmark 52-storey building located in the Melbourne CBD, Victoria, Australia. The building was designed by architectural firm Perrott Lyon Timlock & Kesa and completed in 1977.
