Lygon Street Christian Chapel is an Evangelical church in the inner-city suburb of Carlton, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, built in 1865, and designed by architect W.M. Moore. The services were led by a 'preacher'. The preacher prior to February 1867 was American Reverend H.S. Earl. He was replaced by fellow Americans T.J. Gore and G.L. Surben.The chapel contains a "fine example of late 19th century organ building" with an original working organ thought to have been made by Fincham & Hobday in the early 1890s, installed in the chapel in 1913.

Medley Hall is the smallest residential college of the University of Melbourne in Australia. Established in 1954, it is situated on 48 Drummond St in Carlton, Victoria, away from other residential colleges in Parkville. It is home to approximately 60 students from around Australia and overseas. Medley Hall was named in honour of Sir John Dudley Gibbs Medley, a previous Vice Chancellor of the University of Melbourne. Medley Hall was closed from July 2009 to June 2011 due to a building redevelopment. Medley Hall reopened as a residential college from July 2011.

The Victorian Health Promotion Foundation is a statutory authority in the Australian state of Victoria, originally funded by hypothecated taxation raised by the Victorian Tobacco Act 1987. It was the first health promotion body in the world to be funded by a tax on tobacco. Better known as VicHealth, the organisation has a mandate to promote good health for all Victorians. Victorian Trades Hall is the headquarters of the Victorian Trades Hall Council. It is located on the corner of Lygon Street and Victoria Street, just north of the Melbourne central business district, in the suburb of Carlton, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is the world's oldest trade union building.

The John Curtin Hotel, better known as The Curtin, is a pub, bar, and live music venue located in Carlton, Victoria, Australia. Founded c1860, the pub was first named The Lygon Hotel and was renamed The John Curtin Hotel in 1971 after Australia's 14th prime minister, John Curtin. It is known as a meeting place for the Labor party, and remained popular among members of the labour movement due to the Victorian Trades Hall building being across the road.In 1975 the Australian Council of Trades Unions announced plans to buy the building for approximately $500,000 and redevelop it.The venue was nominated in the Music Victoria Awards category for Best Venue (Under 500 Capacity) in 2016 and 2017.The building features an upstairs 300 person capacity bandroom, and is currently home to Sonny's Fried Chicken and Burgers, serving American-style food.In 2020, the pub's owner Ben Russell was forced to close the bandroom and cancel all upcoming gigs due to government restrictions around the COVID-19 pandemic. They continued to serve food and drinks, but he said business had suffered.In February 2022 the pub's managers announced their lease would expire in November after the owner had decided to sell the building. Beat noted The Curtin's closure and uncertain future was part of an ongoing trend in Melbourne, with many live music venues forced to close.Following the pub's announcement, unions once again discussed purchasing the building. The sale is being managed by commercial real estate agency CBRE.The building is protected by the City of Melbourne’s heritage overlay so that it can't be demolished completely. But it can be partially demolished, leaving the original façade and allowing new apartments to be built.

Corpus Christi College is the regional seminary (and theologate) of the Roman Catholic dioceses in Victoria and Tasmania, Australia. The seminary is administered by a board of episcopal trustees comprising the archbishops of Melbourne and Hobart, the bishops of Ballarat, Sandhurst and Sale, and the auxiliary bishops of Melbourne. The Archbishop of Melbourne is the permanent chair of the trustees.

The Plumbers and Gasfitters Employees' Union Building (PGEUB) is an office building for the Plumbing Trades Employees Union, located in Melbourne, Victoria. It was commissioned in 1969 with architect Graeme Gunn to design it, in creative collaboration with landscape designer Ellis Stones, and Merchant Builders. Construction was completed in 1971. The design itself was architecturally intended to be up to date.

St George's School, Carlton was a Catholic Church school located in Carlton, a suburb of Melbourne and was part of a parish complex which included a church, a hall and a school for boys and one for girls each using the same or similar school name. The school and church opened around May 1856 and operated from a bluestone building which served as both church and school. It was considered a fine example of one of the earliest parish schools established in Melbourne.

Upper House is a multi-residential complex located within Melbourne, Australia, on the south east corner of Swanston Street and Queensberry Street in Carlton, known for its unique projected balconies. The building is developed by Piccolo Developments and designed by Jackson Clement Burrows as residential apartment structures. The construction, headed by Hamilton Marino Builders, commenced in early 2013 and was completed in October, 2014.

Horticultural Hall (also known as 'Horti Hall') is a building in Melbourne, Australia located on Victoria Street near the corner of Russell Street. The hall was commissioned by the Victorian Horticultural Improvement Society and opened in 1873. The two-storey brick building facing Victoria Street was added in 1878.Over its history it has housed many different organisations and events. It is currently the headquarters for Victorian Opera.

Carlton Gardens Primary School (number 2605) is a historic state school in inner Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is located at 215 Rathdowne Street, Carlton, Victoria, between Grattan and Pelham streets, overlooking the Carlton Gardens. It is one of the closest schools to Melbourne's CBD, and is near the Melbourne Museum, RMIT and the University of Melbourne, with which the school has historic links. A large quantity of the students have their parents working in the University of Melbourne.

The Emily McPherson College of Domestic Economy was an Australian domestic science college for women, in Melbourne, Victoria. It was officially opened on 27 April 1927 by The Duchess of York (later Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.) On 30 June 1979 it became part of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and is known as RMIT Building 13 (Emily McPherson College).
