Narrabundah Ballpark (also known as The Fort) is a 2,250 capacity baseball complex in the south-central Canberra suburb of Narrabundah, ACT, Australia. It was redeveloped in 2010 for use by the Canberra Cavalry of the Australian Baseball League (ABL). The Australian Capital Territory Government funded the $1,400,000 upgrade.

Narrabundah College is a government college that teaches the last two years of secondary education in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). It was the first school in Australia to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB), starting the programme in February 1978.

Antoinette Buchanan has been the Manager of the ACT Heritage Library since 2004.The ACT Heritage Library collects, manages and provides access to material relevant to the ACT's documentary heritage. It offers assistance in researching matters relating to the ACT, its history and its development.

St Clare's College is a Catholic school in the south Canberra suburb of Griffith, Australian Capital Territory, Australia, catering for girls from grades 7 to 12. The college was established in 1965. As of 2016 St Clare's had an enrolment of approximately 1000 students, making it the largest Catholic girls' secondary school in Canberra. All students participate in a broad academic program and many extra-curricular activities within the context of the Catholic tradition. On 15 September 2010 St Clare's College students broke a Guinness World Record for the most (872) girls patting their heads and rubbing their stomachs.

Periodic Detention Centre (Symonston) is a minimum security Australian prison located in Symonston, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Its current capacity is 22 when in use. It was formerly the Quamby Children's Remand Centre.

St Edmund's College, Canberra is an independent Catholic primary and secondary school for boys, located in Griffith, a suburb of Canberra, in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Australia. The college was established in 1954 by the Christian Brothers as St Edmund's War Memorial College. It was opened to meet the demand for a Catholic education school in the region and was the first Catholic secondary boys' college established in the ACT. St Edmund's College practises in the tradition of Edmund Ignatius Rice. The current principal of the college is Joe Zavone. Students are placed into houses for sporting and other events. The current houses and colours are: Clancy (yellow), Treacy (dark blue), O'Brien (white), Haydon (red), Mulrooney (sky blue) and Rice (green).

Red Hill School is a government international primary school located in the suburb of Red Hill, in Canberra, Australia. It is the first government school in the Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales to implement the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, having gained IBO membership in 2006.Students come from more than 65 different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, with more than 22 languages spoken in the school community.

Red Hill (postcode: 2603) is a suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. The suburb is named after the northernmost hill of the ridge to the west of the suburb. The ridge is a reserve and managed as part of the Canberra Nature Park. The hill is an element of the central Canberra design axis.

Griffith is an early inner-south suburb of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia. Griffith contains the Manuka Shopping Centre, one of the earliest shopping areas built in Canberra. Noted buildings in the suburb include the Russian Embassy and St Paul's Anglican Church. Griffith, sized at approximately 3 km², is one of Canberra's oldest suburbs, with several of its streets designed according to Walter Burley Griffin's original designs for Canberra. The suburb has 20 parks covering nearly 12% of the total area.

The Mugga Lane Zoo was a privately owned zoo located on Mugga Lane in the Australian capital city of Canberra. First opened in 1979 as the Canberra Wildlife Gardens, It was the first permanent zoo in the city, predating the National Zoo & Aquarium by over a decade. In 1981 the park was rebranded as the Mugga Lane Zoo, although the Canberra Wildlife Gardens name continued to be occasionally used until 1986. Before its closure in 2002, the zoo displayed over 116 different species of animals in its 9 ha (0.035 sq mi) park. Today, the now abandoned site remains a well known location in Canberra due to its popularity with urban explorers, and as a likely source of the feral peacocks often seen around South Canberra. According to the founder, Terry Thomas, the zoo was never financially successful, in part due to difficulties experienced attaining animal permits from the Department of the Capital Territory.
