Anderson Downtown Historic District in Anderson, South Carolina, originally built in the late 19th century, is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.The district was increased in 1987 to include a hotel building at 402 N. Main Street, and again in 2018.

The Caldwell-Johnson-Morris Cottage is located in Anderson, South Carolina. It was constructed around 1851, and is historically significant because it illustrates the “raised cottage” genre of architecture, a style that became popular in the 19th century. Specific features of this style include a raised brick basement and high wooden steps, both of which contribute to a two-story illusion. This landmark may easily be viewed from the public street. It was listed in the National Register on October 7, 1971.

The city of Anderson, South Carolina, began in 1826 with the formation of Anderson County. The amount of cotton being grown in the area allowed for the construction of mills and the town developed. Specific to the Anderson Historic District, much is residential and the homes show a number of different architectural styles, including Greek Revival, Romanesque Revival, Victorian, and Colonial Revival. Some modern buildings have been interspersed in the district, but much of the very accessible area is historically intact. The Anderson Historic District was listed in the National Register on December 13, 1971.

The Kennedy Street School is located near the downtown area of Anderson, South Carolina. It was constructed in 1913, and is considered historically significant primarily because its architectural style is considered representative and typical of the Commercial style with Classical Revival details favored in the first quarter of the 20th century. The auditorium, added in 1960, is an excellent example of Modern style architecture. The 1913 school building was designed by architect Joseph Huntley Casey of Anderson, S.C. The Kennedy Street School was listed in the National Register on October 24, 2007.

The Dr. Samuel Marshall Orr House, is an historic house located in Anderson, South Carolina.Built in 1885, the two-story Greek Revival style house features a front façade of four columns that support a broad, plain entablature with low-sloped, boxed cornice pediment. The cornices of the hipped tin-covered roof, pediments, and shed roofs of side porches are adorned with modillions. The main entrance consists of double doors surrounded by a three-light transom, four-light rectangular sidelights, and a pilaster molding that supports a paneled entablature. Directly above the main entrance a double casement window flanked by single casements opens onto a small balcony with a wooden balustrade. Dr. Orr practiced medicine in Anderson for 25 years, and was active in the community. The house was listed in the National Register on April 13, 1973.

AnMed Health Medical Center is a 461-bed acute care hospital at 800 N. Fant St. in Anderson, South Carolina. The Medical Center is the anchor facility for AnMed Health, South Carolina's largest independent, not-for-profit health system. Services provided at the Medical Center include open heart surgery, vascular surgery, general surgery, bariatric surgery, emergency/trauma medicine, a stroke/neurological center, and diagnostic MRI, CT and laboratory medicine. Other facilities located at AnMed Health's medical center campus include Pediatric Therapy Works, a speech, occupational and physical therapy program for children; and CareConnect, a walk-in facility that treats non life-threatening ailments such as influenza, broken bones and minor nosebleeds.

Anderson is a city in and the county seat of Anderson County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 28,106 at the 2020 census, making it the 16th-most populous city in South Carolina. It is one of the principal cities in the Greenville-Anderson-Greer, SC Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had a population of 928,195 in 2020. It is included in the larger Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson, SC Combined Statistical Area, which had a population of 1,336,656 in 2020. It is just off Interstate 85 and is 120 miles (190 km) from Atlanta and 140 miles (230 km) from Charlotte. Anderson is the smallest of the three primary cities that make up the Upstate region, and is nicknamed the "Electric City" and the "Friendliest City in South Carolina".

The Ralph John Ramer House, is located near the downtown area of Anderson, South Carolina. The house was built in 1930 and is historically significant as an excellent example of an early-20th century Tudor Revival residence. Ramer was a leading Anderson businessman, government official, military officer and civic leader. Much of the noteworthy architectural detail of this house can be viewed from the public road that fronts the grounds. The house was listed in the National Register on February 10, 1992.

The Anderson College Historic District is a historic district on the campus of Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina. It consists of six contributing properties (five buildings and one site) spread out over 8 acres (3.2 ha). Anderson University is a private Christian university in Anderson, South Carolina. It offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in over 100 areas of study. Anderson is affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Anderson participates in NCAA Division II athletics and is a member of the South Atlantic Conference.Reestablished in 1911 as Anderson College, it is the successor to Johnson University, which was founded in 1848 by W. B. Johnson. Anderson was initially a female college until 1931 when it became coed. In 2006, it was renamed Anderson University. It consists of eleven distinct colleges and schools.

Anderson Memorial Stadium is a stadium in Anderson, South Carolina. It is primarily used for baseball and was the home of the Anderson Braves from 1980 to 1984, and the Anderson Joes in 2007. It is currently the home of Anderson University's baseball team. The ballpark has a capacity of 2,500 people and opened in 1970. The stadium had bleacher type seats and the box seats consisted of folding metal chairs. The stadium was originally home to the minor league Anderson Senators class A team. After the Senators left town, other teams were the Anderson Tigers, the Anderson Giants, the Anderson Mets, and the Anderson Rangers. Willie Mays visited the city in the summer of 1974 as part of a goodwill tour as a roving ambassador and coach with the New York Mets franchise. The stadium became the home of the Anderson Braves in 1980 when they moved from Greenwood, South Carolina. The team was quickly a big success. The team seemed to gain more enthusiastic crowds given the connection and close proximity to Atlanta and the Braves franchise. 1984 was the last season for the Braves at Memorial Stadium; they moved to Sumter, South Carolina at the end of 1984. The Stadium became the home of the Anderson College (now Anderson University) baseball team. The city-owned stadium became run-down. In 2007, the stadium had a rebirth. A new independent baseball team named the Anderson Joes came to town. Much work was done on the stadium. It was completely restored, rewired and had major plumbing work done. New seats and a new snack bar were also added. Sadly, the team and the league folded into bankruptcy and the stadium is once again empty except for Anderson University baseball games.

The North Anderson Historic District, located in Anderson, South Carolina. The historic district is an architecturally significant area that offers an impressive collection of 20th century Revivals and American Movements. Further, the district is noteworthy for it further represents the development and transition of Anderson from a rural community to a planned city with well-thought out streets and neighborhoods. The district consists of over 147 homes, a number of garages and a few parks. Architectural styles include early twentieth century Revival styles including Tudor, Colonial, and Neo-Classical. The district was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on July 31, 2008.
