Hackney and Upper Hackney are areas of settlement in Derbyshire, England. The population taken at the 2011 Census is included in the civil parish of Darley Dale. They are located to the north west of Matlock, and separated from the River Derwent by the A6 road and the Peak Rail railway line. There is a Methodist chapel in the village, whilst the nearest C of E church is St. Helens C of E in Darley Dale. Hackney is home to Darley Dale Primary School on Greenaway Lane. The junior portion of the school is the former annexe of the John Turner secondary modern school from Darley Dale which closed in 1983. After that date the former annexe, which was formerly used as an assembly hall by the primary school, was absorbed into the primary school's infrastructure. Close to the current Hackney Methodist Church is the former Primitive Methodist Chapel which was replaced by the current Chapel in 1908. Further up the village is the former Mission Church of St Philip and St James which closed around the end of the last century and is now a house.

The Whitworth Institute is a Grade II listed building in Darley Dale, Derbyshire.It was funded by the estate of the late Sir Joseph Whitworth who lived in nearby Stancliffe Hall. The building is constructed of Staincliffe stone with green Westmorland slate. By the end of May 1890 the builders had finished work, and the joiners had moved into the interior. The building cost about £15,000 (equivalent to £1,760,000 in 2021). and although completed by September 1890, was not formally opened until May 1891. It contained a large reading room, a billiard room, a smoke room and playroom on the east side, a small reading room on the west and a swimming bath 54 feet (16 m) by 22 feet (6.7 m). Upstairs there were two further reading rooms, and a large hall 60 feet (18 m) long and 30 feet (9.1 m) wide capable of seating 200 people.The Whitworth Institute was given to the people of Darley Dale and in 2009/10 underwent a £1.7m renovation to ensure its continued use for future generations.

Oker is a hamlet in Derbyshire, located in South Darley parish, with groups of houses along two sides of Oker Hill. The houses are largely older limestone properties including several farms, but with some more recent semi-detached properties too. The parish church is St Mary the Virgin in the Cross Green area of Darley Bridge, located opposite South Darley Church of England Primary School.

Peak Rail is a preserved railway in Derbyshire, England, which operates a steam and heritage diesel service for tourists and visitors to both the Peak District and the Derbyshire Dales. The preserved railway line is over 3+1⁄2 miles (5.6 km) in length and, as of April 2016, operates train services from Matlock station (shared with Derwent Valley Line services from Derby via Ambergate) via the site of Matlock Riverside and Darley Dale to Rowsley South. Peak Rail intends to extend its operational services northward to Bakewell when resources allow, extending to a total of 4¼ miles (6.8 km). Beyond Bakewell, the railway trackbed is used by the Monsal Trail.

Snitterton is a hamlet in Derbyshire, located in South Darley parish, of some fifteen properties including two working farms and Snitterton Hall, a late 16th century manor house which is Grade 1 listed. There are signs that it was once a larger village. In the centre of Snitterton there is a square stone set in the ground with an iron ring; this is an 18th century bullring, used to tether a bull for baiting with dogs.The parish church is St Mary the Virgin in the Cross Green area of Darley Bridge, located opposite South Darley Church of England Primary School.

Snitterton Hall is a late medieval manor house in Snitterton in South Darley parish, near Matlock, Derbyshire, England, and within the Peak District National Park. It is a Grade I listed building.

Darley Bridge is a village in Derbyshire, located in South Darley parish in the Derbyshire Dales, bordering the Peak District. The village lies at the bottom of the hill below Wensley where the road crosses the River Derwent. A grade II* listed stone bridge spans the river and links the village with Darley Dale. Close to the bridge, the road winds between terraced stone houses in the oldest part of the village. The only public house in the parish, The Three Stags Heads, is in this area. The village extends back up the hill with more recent houses, including a substantial line of semi-detached properties and Ivonbrook care home. At the upper end, known as Cross Green, there is the parish church (grade II listed) of St Mary the Virgin, South Darley Church of England Primary School, South Darley Village Hall and Cross Green Plantation. The nearest train station is Darley Dale railway station, opened in 1849. This is now a heritage line with diesel and steam trains run by Peak Rail, with a connection to the main railway network at Matlock Station. The 172 bus route of Hulleys of Baslow runs from Bakewell to Matlock, via Wensley, Darley Bridge and Darley Dale.

Darley Dale, also known simply as Darley, is a town and civil parish in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England, with a population of 5,413. It lies north of Matlock, on the River Derwent and the A6 road. The town forms part of a built up area with both Matlock and Rowsley.

Station Road is a cricket ground in Darley Dale, Derbyshire, England, which has hosted only one top-class match: the 1975 John Player League match between Derbyshire and Hampshire. The away side won by 70 runs thanks to fifties from Barry Richards and Gordon Greenidge, and Thomas Mottram and John Rice taking five and four wickets respectively.

Farley is a hamlet in the Derbyshire Dales district, in the English county of Derbyshire. It is near the town of Matlock. The nearest main road is the A6 road.
