Battersea was a railway station on the West London Extension Railway located on Battersea High Street in Battersea, south-west London. It opened on 1 October 1863 and closed on 21 October 1940 after air raid damage during the Blitz of World War II. The station was south of Battersea Railway Bridge, at the end of the now pedestrianised area of Battersea High Street by the junction with Simpson Street. It was demolished after closure and no remains are visible today. The site, and an access route from Gwynne Road, continue to remain the property of Network Rail, allowing for potential reconstruction should the need arise in future. It should not be confused with another station originally named "Battersea", but later renamed to "Battersea Park" located on the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway, adjacent to the pier on the south bank of the River Thames, next to Victoria Railway Bridge. That station opened on 1 October 1860 along with Victoria station and closed on 1 November 1870.

Sir Walter St John's was founded in 1700 for twenty boys of the village of Battersea. As the population and the English educational system changed, so did the school. The school was colloquially known as "Sinjuns" and was finally closed in 1986-7.

Sambrook's Brewery is a British brewery, based in Battersea, London It started brewing in 2008. It was founded by Duncan Sambrook, who had been an accountant for Deloitte, with support from David Welsh, the former owner of the Ringwood Brewery.The head brewer is Sean Knight, a native of Cape Town, South Africa.As of November 2016, the brewery is producing 180 hectolitres per annum, and bottling is done in Broadstairs, Kent, in a facility also used by Ramsgate and Westerham breweries.Since 2016 the brewery has brewed the Watneys brand of beers on behalf of Brands Reunited, the current owner of this former London beer brand. In July 2019, it was announced that Sambrook's would be moving to the former Young's brewery site in Wandsworth, and will have a tap room, visitors' center and brewery museum.

Salesian College was a Roman Catholic voluntary-aided school for boys aged 11 to 16 (previously 11 to 18, until it had to jettison its Sixth Form). It was founded in 1895 in Battersea, London, by the religious order of the Salesians of Don Bosco, who arrived in Battersea in 1887 as part of Don Bosco's dream to establish a Salesian presence in Great Britain and the British Empire, with its missionary potential. The College aimed to provide an education loosely based on the principles of St John Bosco, founder of the Salesians of Don Bosco.

The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is a UK-based examination board specialising in dance education and training, with an emphasis on classical ballet. The RAD was founded in London, England in 1920 as the Association of Teachers of Operatic Dancing, and was granted a Royal Charter in 1935. Queen Elizabeth II is patron of the RAD, and Darcey Bussell was elected to serve as president in 2012, succeeding Antoinette Sibley who served as President for 21 years. The RAD was created with the objective to improve the standard of ballet teaching in the UK and, in pursuit of that goal, a new teaching method and dance technique was devised for the Academy by a group of eminent European dancers. The RAD is one of the largest dance organisations in the world with over 14,000 members in 79 countries, including about 7,500 who hold Registered Teacher Status. There are currently about 1,000 students in full-time or part-time teacher training programmes with the RAD, and each year about 250,000 candidates enter RAD examinations worldwide.RAD exams are recognised by the national qualifications regulators of all for UK nations (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) with selected exams also carrying a UCAS tariff towards university admission. The RAD is also a validated awarding body of the Council for Dance Education and Training. The RAD works in partnership with the International Dance Teachers' Association. Royal Academy of Dance is charity 312826 registered in England and Wales. Royal Academy of Dance Enterprises Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of the RAD, which sells Academy branded merchandise, with all profits being gift-aided to the RAD.

Old Battersea House is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Battersea, South West London and is Grade II* listed. It was built around 1699, and was once rumoured to have been designed by Sir Christopher Wren.

Devonshire House is an 18th-century house at 44 Vicarage Crescent, Battersea, London. It is a listed Grade II* on the National Heritage List for England along with its iron gate and railings. The interior of the house contains its original paneling.

Lombard Road power station supplied electricity to the Battersea area of South-East London from 1901 to 1972. It was owned and operated by the Borough of Battersea until the nationalisation of the electricity supply industry in 1948. The power station was redeveloped several times: including the incorporation of new plant in the 1910s and the 1930s. The station was decommissioned in 1972.

St John Bosco College is a Roman Catholic secondary school and sixth form for boys and girls, located in Battersea in the London Borough of Wandsworth, England.The school was judged ‘outstanding’ by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Southwark in its most recent section 48 inspection in May 2019. Ofsted judged the school as ‘good’ in May 2017. In the summer of 2018 the school achieved its best ever GCSE results with a headline progress measure of +0.32. Housed in an attractive modern building near to the beautiful Battersea Square, a short walk from Clapham Junction and Battersea Bridge, the school has grown in size and reputation since it moved to its new premises in the Autumn of 2015. The school is run under the joint trusteeship of the RC Archdiocese of Southwark and the Salesians of Don Bosco. It is named after Saint John Bosco, an Italian priest and educator of the 19th century, who dedicated his life to the education of young people, particular the most disadvantaged.
