Joseph S. Clark Sr. High School

The Nola Art House (formerly known as GNOAM) was a Creole mansion (built c.1870) located on Esplanade Avenue in New Orleans's Faubourg Tremé. John Orgon founded the space in 2005 in order to offer affordable housing to New Orleans-based artists. The vision was to maintain a facility which would unite professional artists with one another, who in turn could exchange ideas and feedback, or collaborate with one another on projects. The house was divided into private rooms that doubled as studio work spaces. The house's parlors and expansive hallways afforded a professional gallery space for residents to showcase their work. The property was sold in July 2014 to new owners with different objectives, and the artists who were involved at the Art House have moved on to other projects.

Tremé ( trə-MAY) is a neighborhood in New Orleans, Louisiana. "Tremé" is often rendered as Treme, and the neighborhood is sometimes called by its more formal French name, Faubourg Tremé; it is listed in the New Orleans City Planning Districts as Tremé / Lafitte when including the Lafitte Projects. Founded in the 1810s, it is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, and was initially the main neighborhood of its free people of color. Historically a racially mixed neighborhood, it remains an important center of the city's African-American and Créole culture, especially the modern brass band tradition. Some sources go so far as to call it the oldest Black neighborhood in the nation. "Faubourg Tremé" was created from land owned by Claude Tremé in 1810. A subdistrict of the Mid-City District Area, its boundaries as defined by the New Orleans City Planning Commission are Esplanade Avenue to the east, North Rampart Street to the south, St. Louis Street to the west and North Broad Street to the north.

Rampart Street (French: rue du Rempart) is a historic avenue located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The section of Rampart Street downriver from Canal Street is designated as North Rampart Street, which forms the inland or northern border of the French Quarter (Vieux Carre). Crossing Esplanade Avenue, the street continues into the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood, then splits off from St. Claude Avenue to become a single-lane, one-way street through residential neighborhoods, and continues into the Bywater neighborhood. With a break at the Industrial Canal, Rampart Street resumes in the Lower Ninth Ward. Upriver from Canal, it is designated as South Rampart Street, and runs through the New Orleans Central Business District and continues to St. Andrew Street. In the 19th century, the "South Rampart Street" designation continued into Uptown New Orleans; this section is now named Danneel Street.

The Mother-in-Law Lounge is a live music venue, pub and a shrine in New Orleans, Louisiana dedicated to the memory of rhythm and blues singer, Ernie K-Doe. It is at the downtown river corner of Claiborne Avenue and Columbus Street in the 7th Ward of New Orleans. The exterior of the building is decorated with colorful murals depicting K-Doe and other prominent figures in New Orleans music, especially people who collaborated with K-Doe. The lounge was originally opened by Ernie K-Doe in 1994, and it has become a historical icon in the local community. It was flooded with five and a half feet of water during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. With the help of the Hands on Network and Chet Haines, the lounge reopened its doors on 29 August 2006, on the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Mother-in-Law Lounge was owned and operated by K-Doe's widow and musician, Antoinette K-Doe, before she died during Mardi Gras 2009. In 2011, local musician Kermit Ruffins agreed to lease the site, and it reopened on January 20, 2014. Ruffins is now running the establishment as Kermit's Mother-In-Law Lounge.

The New Orleans African American Museum (NOAAM) is a museum in New Orleans, Louisiana's visiting Tremé neighborhood, the oldest-surviving black community in the United States. The NOAAM of Art, Culture and History seeks to educate and to preserve, interpret, and promote the contributions that people of African descent have made to the development of New Orleans and Louisiana culture, as slaves and as free people of color throughout the history of American slavery as well as during emancipation, Reconstruction, and contemporary times.

Esplanade Avenue is a historic street in New Orleans, Louisiana. It runs northwest from the Mississippi River to Beauregard Circle at the entrance to City Park.

John McDonogh Senior High School (nicknamed John Mac) is a public high school in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. As of 2018, it is a charter school operated by Bricolage Academy. The school is named after John McDonogh (1779 – 1850).

The John McDonogh High School shooting was a school shooting that occurred on April 14, 2003 at John McDonogh High School in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. Two men shot and killed 15-year-old student Jonathan "Caveman" Williams during a mid-morning gym class in a gang neighborhood retaliation killing.

Vaucresson’s Creole Cafe & Deli is a restaurant in the Seventh Ward of New Orleans. The brand is best known for its hot sausage, a Creole chaurice, blending beef and pork that gives a "juicy bite, an audible snap and a layered flavor of savory spice." Co-owner, Vance, shared that as a result of the Seventh Ward's Italian and Creole heritage, the two cultures shared a lot of their cooking traditions. Thus, the paneed meat at Vaucresson’s has those influences mixed in.

St. Augustine Church is a Catholic parish in New Orleans. Established by free people of color, who also bought pews for slaves, it is said to be the oldest Black Catholic parish in the United States, established in 1841. It was one of the first 26 sites designated on the state's Louisiana African American Heritage Trail. The property on which St. Augustine stands was once part of the Claude Tremé plantation. It is now one of two Catholic parishes in the Faubourg Tremé. The church is located on Saint Claude Avenue at Governor Nicholls Street, a few blocks from North Rampart Street and the French Quarter. It was founded under Bishop Antoine Blanc, who later served as New Orleans' first Archbishop, and designed by the French architect J. N. B. de Pouilly, who worked on the expansion and renovation of the more famous St. Louis Cathedral on Jackson Square.
