La Balisa

The Schopfenspitz (2,104 m) (also known as Gros Brun) is a mountain of the Bernese Alps, overlooking Jaun in the canton of Fribourg. It is the culminating point of the group lying between Charmey and the Euschelspass.

The Chörblispitz (2,103 m) is a mountain of the Swiss Prealps, located north of Jaun in the canton of Fribourg. It lies on the range between the valley of the Breccaschlund and the valley of the Jaunbach.

The Breccaschlund is a karstic plain with primeval forest, located above the lake Schwarzsee, in the Swiss Canton of Fribourg. The area was created by glaciers in the last ice age. Despite the usage as alpine pastures and despite the popularity among hikers, the area continues to be home to a variety of alpine flowers and alpine animals. The Breccaschlund can be reached by car and public transport, and subsequently by the cable car Schwarzsee-Riggisalp.

The Vanil d'Arpille (also known as Maischüpfenspitz) is a mountain of the Swiss Prealps, located north of Im Fang in the canton of Fribourg.

Schwarzsee (German: [ˈʃvartszeː]) or Lac Noir (French: [lak nwaʁ]; English: "Black Lake"; rarely Lac Domène; Arpitan: Lèc d'Omène [ˈle dɔˈmɛn(ə)] ), is a small lake in the Canton of Fribourg, Switzerland with an area of 0.47 km2 (0.18 sq mi). The lake in the Swiss Prealps is bordered by the peaks of Schwyberg (1,628 m) in the West, Les Reccardets (1,923 m) and Spitzfluh (1,951 m) in the South, as well as Kaiseregg (2,185 m).

Jaun (French: Bellegarde; Arpitan: Bèlagouàrda [balaˈvwɛrda] ) is a municipality in the district of Gruyère in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. It is the only German-speaking municipality in Gruyère.

The Euschelspass (1,567 m) is a high mountain pass of the Swiss Alps, connecting Schwarzsee with Jaun in the canton of Fribourg. The pass lies on the watershed between the Jogne and the Sense and is located between the Chörblispitz and the Schafberg. The pass is traversed by a trail.

La Valsainte Charterhouse or La Valsainte (Latin: Vallis sanctorum omnium, later Vallis Sancta) situated in La Valsainte in the district of Gruyère, Canton of Fribourg, is the only remaining extant Carthusian monastery in Switzerland.

La Berra (1,719 m) is a mountain of the Swiss Prealps, overlooking the Lake of Gruyère in the canton of Fribourg.

The Schafberg is a mountain peak above Boltigen located on the border between the cantons of Fribourg and Berne, north of Jaun. With a height 2,239 metres above sea level, it is the highest summit on the range lying north of the Jaun Pass. It is also the most isolated mountain in the canton of Fribourg.

The Kaiseregg is a mountain in the Bernese Alps, overlooking Schwarzsee in the canton of Fribourg. Its summit, which can be accessed by trail, is located a few hundred meters from the border with the canton of Bern.

Plasselb (Arpitan: Pllanassiva, locally Pyanachiva [pjanaˈʃiva] (listen)) is a municipality in the district of Sense in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. It is one of the municipalities with a large majority of German speakers in the mostly French speaking Canton of Fribourg.
