Adobe Rock is described by the USGS as a pediment (geology) at Lake Point, Utah. The large rock outcropping sits adjacent to SR-36 just north of SR-138 at Mills Junction. Because of its distance from the steep incline of the Oquirrh Mountains and its prominent location on the edge of a hill, Adobe Rock has served as a natural landmark in Tooele Valley ever since the first pioneers traversed the Hastings Cutoff trail. Though not officially a national monument like its nearby peer Black Rock (Great Salt Lake), it has equal significance as a navigating landmark and cultural significance as a monument with businesses using the Adobe Rock name, books using its images on their covers, and Lake Point, Utah depicting its likeness as their city logo.

Stansbury Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tooele County, Utah, United States. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 9,851, up from the 2010 figure of 5,145. Stansbury Park is located in the northern end of Tooele Valley at the base of the Oquirrh Mountains. Traveling by Interstate 80, Stansbury Park is 35 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. Stansbury Park was proposed by the original developer (Terracor) as a planned community with a lake for sailing and canoeing, an eighteen-hole golf course, clubhouse, swimming pool, and parks. Although the original developer withdrew from the scene in the 1980s due to bankruptcy, that plan has generally been followed. The parks throughout Stansbury Park include baseball diamonds, soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, play areas for children, skateboard park, and an astronomical observatory. A large park northwest of Utah State Route 138 is being developed. A natural lake (The Mill Pond) exists on the northern edge of the area; it is fed by a spring at its southeast end. The outflow water from this lake is piped around the Oquirrh Mountain Range (east of Stansbury Park) to the Kennecott Company's copper mine refinery operation (the runoff water from the lake enters a large pipe NW of the Benson Grist Mill for transport to the Kennecott operation). The area includes several businesses, clustered in two developments at the southeast and northeast corners of the area along Utah State Route 36. As of 2019, the community is not incorporated; thus all municipal services (except for water and sewer service) are provided by Tooele County. A proposal to incorporate was voted down in November 2016.

Erda ( UR-də) is a city in Tooele County, Utah, United States. The population was 4,642 at the 2010 census, a significant increase from the 2000 figure of 2,473. Erda was previously a Census Designated Place (CDP) and a township but officially received its incorporation certificate in January 2022.

Lake Point is a city on the eastern edge of northern Tooele County, Utah, United States. It is located 17 miles southwest of Salt Lake City International Airport and 11 miles north of Tooele, Utah. At its location on the south shore of the Great Salt Lake, the city is served by Interstate 80 and Utah State Route 36. The community was originally settled in 1854 under the name of E.T. City, in honor of Ezra T. Benson. It was renamed Lake Point in 1923.A 2021 feasibility study for the proposed Lake Point incorporation area indicated an estimated population of 2,599. During the 2021 United States elections, the residents of Lake Point voted to become a city with a five-member council; the first city council was then elected the following year.

The Deseret Peak Utah Temple is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints under construction in Tooele, Utah. Plans to construct a temple in Tooele Valley were announced on April 7, 2019 by church president Russell M. Nelson, during the church's general conference. The temple will be the first in Tooele County and the 21st in the state of Utah. The Deseret Peak Utah Temple will be located on the corner of 2400 North and 400 West in Tooele. The temple was originally announced as the "Tooele Valley Utah Temple" and was to be located in Erda, at the intersection of Erda Way and State Route 36. The change came after community pressure to not include some of the other intended residential development, and locals threatened a referendum to alter the area's zoning. The relocated temple plans are expected to follow the same design as previously announced, with three stories and about 70,000 square feet. A 20,000-square-foot meetinghouse will be built adjacent to the temple.

KTMW (channel 20) is a television station in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, broadcasting the Spanish-language Telemundo network to the state of Utah. Owned and operated by NBCUniversal's Telemundo Station Group, the station maintains studios are located on South Redwood Road in the northwestern section of Salt Lake City, and its transmitter is located on Farnsworth Peak in the Oquirrh Mountains, southwest of Salt Lake City. KTMW's programming is relayed on three low-power digital translators: Class A stations KULX-CD (UHF channel 14) in Ogden and KEJT-CD (UHF channel 21) in Salt Lake City, and KULU-LD (UHF channel 16) in Park City.

Farnsworth Peak is a peak located on the northern end of the Oquirrh Mountain range, approximately 3.5 miles (6 km) south east of Lake Point, Utah and 18 miles (29 km) south west of Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. The mountain is named for Philo Farnsworth, the inventor of the first completely electronic television. It is used mainly for radio and television transmission, but could potentially become part of a ski resort owned by nearby Kennecott Land. On the eastern side of the mountain, the land is completely private, and access is restricted. The peak can be reached by hiking from the Tooele side, which is mostly public land. The Bureau of Land Management land extends from Ridge Peak west to the base of the mountain. Public access to this land is available off SR-36 near Lake Point, Utah. Several cattle gates need to be opened and closed, but are access roads to hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding areas.

KTVX (channel 4) is a television station in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, affiliated with ABC. It is owned by Nexstar Media Group alongside Ogden-licensed CW owned-and-operated station KUCW (channel 30). Both stations share studios on West 1700 South in Salt Lake City, while KTVX's transmitter is located atop Farnsworth Peak in the Oquirrh Mountains. KTVX has a large network of broadcast translators that extend its over-the-air coverage throughout Utah, as well as portions of Idaho, Nevada and Wyoming.

KUEN, virtual channel 9 (UHF digital channel 36), is an educational independent television station serving Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, that is licensed to Ogden. The station is owned by the Utah State Board of Regents, and is operated by the Utah Education Network on behalf of higher education (USHE) as well as public education (USOE). KUEN's studios are located at the Eccles Broadcast Center on the University of Utah campus, and its transmitter is located at Farnsworth Peak in the Oquirrh Mountains, southwest of Salt Lake City. The station has a large network of broadcast translators that extend its over-the-air coverage throughout Utah, as well as portions of Colorado.

KPNZ (channel 24) is a religious television station licensed to Ogden, Utah, United States, serving the Salt Lake City area as an owned-and-operated station of Tri-State Christian Television (TCT). The station's studios are located on North Wright Brothers Drive in northwest Salt Lake City, and its transmitter is located on Farnsworth Peak in the Oquirrh Mountains.

KUCW (channel 30) is a television station licensed to Ogden, Utah, United States, broadcasting the CW network to Salt Lake City and the state of Utah. It is owned and operated by network majority owner Nexstar Media Group alongside ABC affiliate KTVX (channel 4).
