WWDJ (1150 AM) is a Catholic radio station licensed to Boston, Massachusetts. Owned by Relevant Radio, Inc., the station serves Greater Boston. WWDJ does not broadcast any local programming, functioning as a repeater for the Relevant Radio network. WWDJ's studios and offices are co-located with the network in Lincolnwood, Illinois, and the station transmitter are located in Lexington.

The house at 45 Claremont Avenue in Arlington, Massachusetts is a rare local example of transitional Italianate and Gothic Revival styling. Built c. 1885–90, the house has steeply pitched gables and almost Stick style porch decoration that are typical Gothic work, while the house's massing and the bracketed eaves are Italianate. One of its early owners was Theodore B. Merrick, an instructor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

The Metropolitan State Hospital was an American public hospital for the mentally ill, on grounds that extended across parts of Waltham, Lexington, and Belmont, Massachusetts. Founded in 1927, it was at one time the largest and most modern facility of its type in Massachusetts. It was closed in January 1992 as a result of the state's cost-cutting policy of closing its mental hospitals and moving patients into private and community-based settings. The main complex of buildings has subsequently been redeveloped into apartments. The hospital campus was listed on the National Register of Historic Places 1994. The property also housed the Gaebler Children's Center for mentally ill youth.

The Wellington–Castner House is a historic house in Waltham, Massachusetts. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The William Wellington House is a historic house in Waltham, Massachusetts. It was built in 1779 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The house stayed in two families until somewhere around 1930 when it was acquired by Middlesex County Hospital. Prior to renovations, it had been abandoned for over 20 years.The home was purchased as part of a development of condominiums nearby now known as "Wellington Crossing". The developers donated the house along with $100,000 for its renovations to the city of Waltham in 2005. Renovations of the exterior were undertaken after some $367,000 were raised by the Waltham Historical Commission. Archie Bennett, director of the commission, said that William Wellington and his family were among the founding families of Waltham and that their Georgian home deserved attention.

The Middlesex County Hospital was operated by Middlesex County from the 1930s until 2001. Its property straddles the towns of Waltham and Lexington, Massachusetts. Originally a tuberculosis hospital, it eventually became the county hospital for Middlesex until its closure. The property was sold and redeveloped into a condominium community. It is located near the old Metropolitan State Hospital, which was closed in 1992 and has also been redeveloped into housing.

The Whitney–Farrington–Cook House was a historic house in Waltham, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built c. 1858, and was a good example of Italianate styling. It had a three-bay facade, with a single-story porch across the facade which is supported by Tuscan columns. The main entry was flanked by sidelights and simple pilasters, and topped by an entablature.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. It was demolished circa 2012.

Gaebler Children's Center was a psychiatric institution operated by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health for severely mentally ill children and adolescents, located in Waltham, Massachusetts. The center opened on October 8, 1955, near the grounds of the Metropolitan State Hospital and closed in September 1992. It was named after William C. Gaebler, the second superintendent of the Metropolitan State Hospital. The Massachusetts Department of Mental Health (DMH) closed the center as it was antiquated and could no longer serve the needs of the children it housed. According to the DMH, this closure coincided with the decision to place mentally ill children in community settings instead of in institutional settings. Others felt the center was closed due to budget cuts. According to the Waltham Land Trust and The Boston Globe, the grounds of the Gaebler Center are currently being considered for redevelopment. (The Gaebler Center is now slated for Demolition with bids to be received prior to April 15, 2010)Demolition and site development contractor Testa Corp won the bid to begin destruction of the area, as indicated by a sign recently erected at the entrance. Mayor Jeanette McCarthy said the building was bought by the city of Waltham in 2005 in order to have some control over the development of the seven-acre site. Demolition of the Gaebler Children's Center was completed in January 2011. The work cost the City of Waltham approximately $637,000. There are no current plans for the 55-acre lot.

The Stone Building, built in 1833, is an historic Greek Revival style building located at 735 Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington, Massachusetts. It was originally a meeting hall and lyceum for East Lexington, which had its own civic identity and, later, its own church, the neighboring Follen Community Church. Notable speakers at the Lyceum included Ralph Waldo Emerson, Charles Sumner, Wendell Phillips, Theodore Parker, Lucy Stone, Josiah Quincy, Jr. and possibly Henry David Thoreau. Emerson notably served as a minister in the building for three years prior to the building of Follen Community Church. The building was deeded to the Trustees of the Cary Memorial Library for $2,000 in 1891, by Ellen Stone, granddaughter of Eli Robbins, who built it, and it was named after her. After her death in 1944, she bequeathed $2,000 to the Town for a fund to aid needy and deserving girls in pursuit of education. The East Lexington branch library which had been established in 1883, occupied it until the building was closed for repairs in 2007.In 1945 a demolition permit was issued for the building followed by several attempts to find a new site on which to locate it. Ultimately it was renovated as the East Branch of Cary Memorial Library in 1947. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
