Rorschach, Switzerland

Rorschacherberg is a municipality in the Wahlkreis (constituency) of Rorschach in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

Rorschach railway station (German: Bahnhof Rorschach) is a railway station in Rorschach, in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. It sits at the junction of four railway lines: Chur–Rorschach, Rorschach–St. Gallen, Rorschach–Heiden, and the Lake Line. It is the primary station for Rorschach and is served by local and long-distance trains. Rorschach is one of three stations within the municipality of Rorschach, along with Rorschach Stadt (the next station west on the Rorschach–St. Gallen line) and Rorschach Hafen, the next station northwest on the Rorschach–Heiden line on the shore of Lake Constance.

Rorschach Stadt railway station (German: Bahnhof Rorschach Stadt) is a railway station in Rorschach, in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. It is an intermediate stop on the Rorschach–St. Gallen line. It is one of three stations within the municipality of Rorschach, along with Rorschach (the next station east on the same line) and Rorschach Hafen, approximately 400 metres (1,300 ft) to the north on the shore of Lake Constance.

Rorschach is a constituency (Wahlkreis) in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Wahlkreis (SFOS number 1722) has been established on June 10, 2001, totalling 40,454 inhabitants on an area of 50.37 km². Rorschach is the capital of the Wahlkreis.

Rorschach Hafen railway station (German: Bahnhof Rorschach Hafen) is a railway station in Rorschach, in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. It is located on the Lake line of Swiss Federal Railways. It is adjacent to a ferry terminal with service to Lindau and Wasserburg am Bodensee across Lake Constance. Rorschach Hafen is one of three stations within the municipality of Rorschach, along with Rorschach (the next station east on the Lake line) and Rorschach Stadt, approximately 400 metres (1,300 ft) to the south on the Rorschach–St. Gallen line.

The Rorschacher Klosterbruch or St. Gallerkrieg was a war between the Abbey of Saint Gall, Zürich, Lucerne, Schwyz and Glarus against the city of St. Gallen and Appenzell in 1489 to 1490.

On 24 January 1994 a Cessna 425 crashed into Lake Constance with 5 people on board. 3 of them are confirmed killed, two are missing. The crash caused significant media attention due to a suspicion the aircraft might be transporting nuclear material which was later found untrue.

Schwendi bei Heiden railway station (German: Bahnhof Schwendi bei Heiden) is a railway station in Heiden, in the Swiss canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden. It is a station on the Rorschach–Heiden mountain rack railway line of Appenzell Railways. Trains stop only on request.
