First Congregational Church (Salt Lake City, Utah)

Congregation Kol Ami is a synagogue located in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is affiliated with both the Union for Reform Judaism and the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, and, according to the synagogue, it serves 25% of the Jewish families in Utah.

The College of Saint Mary-of-the-Wasatch was a private, Catholic women's college, later St. Mary of the Wasatch High School, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, from 1875 to 1969. It was operated by the Sisters of the Holy Cross primarily as a sisters' college. The school was located in the eastern reaches of Salt Lake City, in the foothills of the Wasatch Range. In addition to being home to the college and high school, and later a high school only, it also housed a convent. Starting in 1931, it was affiliated with the Sisters-run Holy Cross Hospital nursing college, which itself closed in 1973, a year after the school was demolished in 1972 to make way for a housing subdivision. One of the stone gates of the entrance was incorporated into a house. It is the last place where teenager Reed Taylor Jeppson was seen in 1964. Its records are held in the Sisters of the Holy Cross Archives in Notre Dame, Indiana.

Canyon Rim was a census-designated place (CDP) in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States, that was consolidated with neighboring Millcreek CDP in 2010. The consolidated CDP was incorporated in 2016. The population was 10,428 at the 2000 census, a minuscule decrease from the 1990 figure of 10,527. The area formerly in Canyon Rim CDP is located just south of Interstate 80 and the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City near the mouth of Parley's Canyon (hence the name Canyon Rim). Canyon rim is notable for Canyon Rim Park, Tanner Park, and Parleys Historic Nature Park. The area formerly in Canyon Rim CDP is part of the Salt Lake City, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Parleys Canyon is a canyon located in the U.S. state of Utah. The canyon provides the route of Interstate 80 (I-80) (and previously the Lincoln Highway, U.S. Route 40, and a railroad) up the western slope of the Wasatch Mountains and is a relatively wide, straight canyon other than near its mouth. The mountain pass at the top of the canyon is known as Parleys Summit. With an elevation of 7,120 feet (2,170 m), the pass is the highest point along I-80 in the state of Utah. Both features are named for Parley P. Pratt, an early settler of the Salt Lake Valley and leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who surveyed the area to find a better transportation route through the Wasatch Mountains than the previous route which traversed Emigration Canyon.

East Bench in Salt Lake City, Utah is a relatively affluent and primarily residential neighborhood of Salt Lake City that lies at the base of the Wasatch Range and extends west to approximately 1300 East. Foothill is the northern part of this area, divided by Interstate 80, and takes its name from the area's major traffic artery of Foothill Drive (State Route 186), which runs parallel to the base of the mountains and connects Interstate 80 with the University of Utah and downtown Salt Lake City. The East Bench is bordered on the north by the Federal Heights neighborhood and on the south by the Traverse Mountains. This neighborhood becomes increasingly affluent moving from west to east. The University of Utah sits at the north end of this neighborhood. Points of interest include the Hogle Zoo, Red Butte Garden and Arboretum, This Is The Place Heritage Park, Fort Douglas Military Museum and the Foothill Village Shopping Center. Some notable residents and former residents include Peter Breinholt, John Bytheway, and billionaire philanthropist Jon Huntsman, Sr. Southern East Bench neighborhoods include East Millcreek, Holladay City, Cottonwood Heights City and Granite. Northern Foothill neighborhoods include the Country Club (near the Salt Lake Country Club), the eastern side of historic Sugar House, the Harvard-Yale Neighborhood, where many of the streets are named after schools, El Rey Park, Oak Hills (formerly the site of the Oak Hills drive-in, above Hogle Zoo), Donner Park, University Village, St. Mary's Park, and the Devonshire Neighborhood near the "H-Rock", a large rock with an H painted on it that represents Highland High School. The East Bench has its own distinctive culture. Many residents take pride that they are part of multi-generational families who have attended the same high school. East High School, a central feature of the area, was the high school featured in the Disney High School Musical movies.

Utah's Hogle Zoo is a 42-acre (17 ha) zoo located in Salt Lake City, Utah. It houses animals from diverse ecosystems. It is located at the mouth of Emigration Canyon. Hogle (pronounced "ho-gul") is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).

This is the Place Heritage Park is a Utah State Park that is located on the east side of Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, at the foot of the Wasatch Range and near the mouth of Emigration Canyon. A non-profit foundation manages the park.

The This is the Place Monument is a historical monument at the This Is the Place Heritage Park, located on the east side of Salt Lake City, Utah, at the mouth of Emigration Canyon. It is named in honor of Brigham Young's famous statement that the Mormon pioneers should settle in the Salt Lake Valley. On 24 July 1847, upon first viewing the valley, Young stated: "This is the right place, drive on." Mahonri M. Young, a grandson of Brigham Young, sculpted the monument between 1939 and 1947 at Weir Farm in Connecticut. Young was awarded $50,000 to build the monument in 1939 and he was assisted by Spero Anargyros. It stands as a monument to the Mormon pioneers as well as the explorers and settlers of the American West. It was dedicated by George Albert Smith, president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on 24 July 1947, the hundredth anniversary of the pioneers entering the Salt Lake Valley. It replaced a much smaller monument located nearby. In the mid-1970s, a living history museum, called This Is the Place Heritage Park was built at a site adjoining the monument. It began with the restoration or replication of historical pioneer-era buildings from around Utah. It has greatly expanded since then and has become a popular venue for receptions, corporate parties, family reunions and youth events.

Highland High School is a high school in Salt Lake City, in the U.S. state of Utah, that opened in 1956 and has a student body of 1,546. It is located at 2166 South 1700 East, next to Sugar House Park, and is part of the Salt Lake City School District. The current principal is Jeremy Chatterton.

The Brigham Young Forest Farmhouse is a historic home in Salt Lake City, Utah. The building was once owned by Brigham Young, an early leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and first governor of Utah Territory. Built between 1861 and 1863, it was located on Young's Forest Farm near the southern boundary of Salt Lake City. Restored from 1969 to 1970, the home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, and subsequently relocated to This Is the Place Heritage Park in 1975.

Emery County Cabin is one of the last few historic frontier post offices still known to exist in the United States. The cabin was constructed in 1879, and became the official post office of Muddy Creek (now Emery), Emery County, Utah in the 1880s. The cabin is currently located in the Utah State Park system at This Is The Place Heritage Park.

Sugar House Park, also known as Sugarhouse Park, is located between I-80, 2100 South, 1300 East, and 1700 East in the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. The 110-acre (45 ha) park is at the heart of the Sugar House neighborhood. It was the site of a fireworks show and concert every Independence Day (July 4), but the event was discontinued in 2018 due to environmental, logistical, and financial reasons. It is a popular sledding location in the winter. The park was the location of Sugar House Prison, Utah's first state prison, until 1951 when the current prison was opened in Draper.
