This Is the Place Monument

This is the Place Heritage Park is a Utah State Park that is located on the east side of Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, at the foot of the Wasatch Range and near the mouth of Emigration Canyon. A non-profit foundation manages the park.

Utah's Hogle Zoo is a 42-acre (17 ha) zoo located in Salt Lake City, Utah. It houses animals from diverse ecosystems. It is located at the mouth of Emigration Canyon. Hogle (pronounced "ho-gul") is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA).

Emery County Cabin is one of the last few historic frontier post offices still known to exist in the United States. The cabin was constructed in 1879, and became the official post office of Muddy Creek (now Emery), Emery County, Utah in the 1880s. The cabin is currently located in the Utah State Park system at This Is The Place Heritage Park.

The Brigham Young Forest Farmhouse is a historic home in Salt Lake City, Utah. The building was once owned by Brigham Young, an early leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and first governor of Utah Territory. Built between 1861 and 1863, it was located on Young's Forest Farm near the southern boundary of Salt Lake City. Restored from 1969 to 1970, the home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, and subsequently relocated to This Is the Place Heritage Park in 1975.

The Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI), formerly University Neuropsychiatric Institute (UNI), is an assemblage of psychiatric treatment, education, and research programs based in Salt Lake City, Utah. HMHI is a component of University of Utah Health Hospitals & Clinics. The institute was dedicated on 14 January 2021 after the Huntsman family, in November 2019, committed $150 million over 10 years to create the institute The main campus of the institute is located in University of Utah Research Park in Salt Lake City, and includes a 170-bed psychiatric hospital for the treatment of mental disorders (including substance use disorders). The institute also provides day treatment, intensive outpatient, and regular outpatient services for children, adolescents and adults, at the main campus, and in other Salt Lake City area locations. University of Utah Health, of which Huntsman Mental Health Institute is a component, is "the only academic medical center in the state of Utah and the Mountain West", featuring a medical school and four other professional health profession schools (dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, and public health), plus several research initiatives, including neuroscience.

The College of Saint Mary-of-the-Wasatch was a private, Catholic women's college, later St. Mary of the Wasatch High School, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, from 1875 to 1969. It was operated by the Sisters of the Holy Cross primarily as a sisters' college. The school was located in the eastern reaches of Salt Lake City, in the foothills of the Wasatch Range. In addition to being home to the college and high school, and later a high school only, it also housed a convent. Starting in 1931, it was affiliated with the Sisters-run Holy Cross Hospital nursing college, which itself closed in 1973, a year after the school was demolished in 1972 to make way for a housing subdivision. One of the stone gates of the entrance was incorporated into a house. It is the last place where teenager Reed Taylor Jeppson was seen in 1964. Its records are held in the Sisters of the Holy Cross Archives in Notre Dame, Indiana.

The University of Utah Research Park, also known as Bionic Valley, is located on the campus of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, United States. The facility has helped create many businesses based on the work of university scientists over the years. Research Park now houses more than forty companies alongside sixty-nine academic departments and employs more than 7,500 people. The annual in-state productivity of park residents exceeds $550 million.

The Natural History Museum of Utah (NHMU) is a museum located in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. The museum shows exhibits of natural history subjects, with an emphasis on Utah and the Intermountain West. The mission of the museum is to illuminate the natural world and the place of humans within it. A new building, named the Rio Tinto Center, opened in November 2011. The museum is part of the University of Utah and is located in the university's Research Park.

Red Butte Garden and Arboretum consists of a botanical garden, arboretum, and amphitheatre operated by the University of Utah, in the foothills of the Wasatch Range in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. It is open year-round to the public. Red Butte Garden contains over 100 acres (0.40 km2) of botanical gardens and several miles of hiking trails through native vegetation. Red Butte Creek runs within the northern part of the garden.

The Red Butte Creek oil spill was caused by a rupture in a medium crude oil pipeline that occurred on June 11 and 12 2010. The Chevron Pipeline (CPL) is 10 inches in diameter and runs from western Colorado to a Chevron Corporation oil refinery near Salt Lake City Utah. A half-inch diameter hole in the pipeline was caused by an electrical arc from high voltage power lines to a metal fence post buried a few inches above the pipeline.

The University Orthopaedic Center is the only full-service specialty center of its kind in the Intermountain West, including services in joint reconstruction, sports medicine, pediatric orthopaedics, spinal disorders, hand, foot and ankle, trauma, musculoskeletal oncology, shoulder and elbow, and physical therapy.

A statue of Patrick Edward Connor is installed in Salt Lake City's Fort Douglas, in the U.S. state of Utah.
